The Swiss Motel

Older and very basic, very clean and staff friendly. O.k for overnight stay but would rather something bigger and more up to date for a longer stay.

I had booked a family room. We were late arriving after a two hour delay due to a Hume Highway closure. While stuck on the highway, my daughter phoned the motel to say we would be arriving outside reception hours. She was told we were being upgraded to an apartment. This was so much appreciated. The apartment was perfect for us with separate bedrooms and more space than we needed. It was clean and the beds comfortable.

I don't have any complaints. I did notice a couple of things looking a bit old and tired, but I know the motel is currently being renovated.

No fly screens, shower system terrible, noises in the taps when using water.

All okay except the noisy fridge kept us awake.

If you arrive for a late check-in, there is no allocated parking space. When I came parking was full, There is a room number on the wall, but someone has parked there.

no microwave, no side table or lamp beside the bed. walls were thin so m=noises can in.

No TV remote No sugarTo plug anything in ie kettle / phone chargers etc we had to locate the extension lead and drag across room. External lights of room. Illuminated room all night so it was like having lights on inside the room. Note to self next time bring a sleep mask. Something in the room banged all night. No HOT WATER. Cold taps in shower and bathroom basin was warmer than hot taps. Creeks on Snowy mtns would have been warmer also. Yes ran the hot water taps full bore for 20mins - just got colder.

Very tired. I requested a downstairs room which was given but with that request no aircon is available just a fan. The bed was fine,but no cutlery only 1 plate no teabags ,1 small soap.The property was quite noisy during the night and the door chain wouldn’t lock I personally wouldn’t recommend this property

Flaking paint, badly stained carpets, pressure on shower.

It’s very old looking nowThe pics in booking.com seem to be when the place first opened years agoWe had 2 rooms ground floor near a laundryThe rooms had a splash of paint to update them and I mean a splash,paint was on the floor and window sills alsoNew tiles in the bathrooms to make them look nicer. Bathroom in one room was so small,shower was small with a very tiny shower head that kept slipping and the shower curtain kept sticking to me because it was more of a small cubicle.No hair dryer or shower amenities eg shampoo ,shower gel etc. soap was supplied thoughCarpets were absolutely filthy with stains,I didn’t want to walk around inside with no shoes on.Very small ridge on one room,half the size of a bar fridge,a table with kettle and coffee and tea between very dirty old old sofa chairs.His bathroom window didn’t lock so was easy to enter rom outside and his bedroom window frame near bathroom was broken.Bed was ok,everything was shabby or over $300 a night,not worth the moneyOutside was gravel courtyard,weeds in the brick gardens,nothing is upkept.Upstairs people were so noisy ,mother and daughter and grandchild. They talked loud outside our units at 930 at night,thumping around till 11 pm. Up early at 6 to leave and slamming car doors,we pull hear when they were walking around in unit above us.My ront door security chain was broken so only a button on the door know or security had to pull the Donna up to sleep on because I could feel the wires rom the electric blanket on the bed.We wanted to do laundry but the laundry room was full of motel sheets and you really couldn’t move in there so we gave it a miss,something dripped down the door and wasn’t cleaned Give it a miss,would never stay their again

There location is perfect for me it’s centre of town and easy walk down the hill to anything I need,the price is right as all I need is clean private amenities with a nice bed and safe parking in front of my room

Basic room which was what I expected for the price. Bed and bathroom were clean. Easy and swift check in. Location was perfect. Off the main road so it was quiet but walking distance to shops and places to eat. Would stay again.

Room was awful ? totally outdated, no air-conditioning, mould in the shower, peeling paint in the bathroom, went to open bathroom window, and the whole frame moved. Cobwebs in the bathroom. Woke in the night was some bug crawling across my arm. Couldn't wait to get out of there. You get what you pay for.

The friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness of the room, the comfortable bed, the quiet location, having a parking spot for the car right near the room, having a downstairs’ room.

No coat hangers, no face washer, no chair in room

Lovely quiet and clean comfortable accommodation

Communication was great. We arrived late at night to a cosy warm room. Everything was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the motel was located in a quiet back street off the main road.Good value for money during the ski season.

An older style hotel that could do with a bit of an update.
