About

Located 5 mi from Lorne on the Great Ocean Road, Cumberland River Holiday park features Cedar cabins and deluxe Riverview Chalets with views of the Cumberland River and the cliffs which overhang the park. • Had the most amazing time! Saw the kangaroo's ?, all the beautiful bird wild life such as the Kookaburra, Cockatoo & Rosella's. The River & Rockwall is so sensational & calming to look at! The stars ✨ at night are sensational! Enjoyed a nice wine around the ? fire pit, extremely relaxing! We also kept well feed with the gorgeous, clean BBQ facilities you have! Thank you so much for providing a peaceful, safe & relaxing atmosphere! This is our most favourite holiday destination! Appreciate you all being so accommodating to us & all of U looking after the park so well! See you again soon. Kindly EJ
    • Location. The little conditioner and shampoo bottles. We liked the gas heater. The park layout was good. The towels were good too, soft and good size.

    Cons -

    • It is pricey. Would be nice to get a discount since we stayed a few times now and will be coming back for the rest of our lives cause we love the place that much.
    • The tea towel didn't dry well, and the dishes upon arrival were a bit grimy. Fridge leaked a bit of water. Probably could have used a fan for cooling.
    • The cabins were a little pricey.

The location is absolutely stunning, we went as a big family group. The staff were fantastic and accomodating us so we could all be grouped together. I have been here before for a family wedding years ago. Just as beautiful of a place as I remembered. With plenty of places to explore, although beware the snakes! There was a few on the walking tracks to the “pool” really awesome river for kids to play in. We will be back!

The cabins were a little pricey.

For a camp ground it was quite clean and had a nice vibe. Really enjoyed the location and how it was a little out of the main town.

Unfortunately the cabin cleanliness was pretty poor. The bathroom was clearly not cleaned very well and the floor was actually disgusting, couldn’t walk barefoot without feet being covered in dirt and dust.

Great location. Loved the animals around the area and the river next to the park. Great to be able to watch the sunrise from the beach. Cabin was clean and large. Wonderful to see the stars in the sky and have toast marshmallows by a fire.

That I could not stay longer.

Beautiful location and perfect little cabins. We stayed in the two bedroom with our 6 month old and it was perfect. Views of the river, kangaroos, ducks, personal fire pit, gas fire heater in side - it was all great. No cellular reception at all but that didn't matter. Small TV worked fine. Kitchen had everything you needed. Staff were lovely and easy going.

Bed in main bedroom is only a double so a tad small

    Quite location

Shower pressure and no internet or phone signal

The Cabin I stayed in was clean, spacious and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. The gas heater was great on cool nights and a TV if I needed it.Loved the River, Bush and Ocean near by. You could hear both River and Ocean when it was quiet at night.Lorne is only a 10 minute drive.Lots of ducks, cockatoos, kangaroos and parrots. Lovely views from the cabin porch. ALL staff were friendly, helpful and accomodating.

There wasn't anything I didn't "Like", more had to get use to.It was a step back in time (decades) ; ) - only ONE powerpoint in the cabin. No toaster (use the grill), no microwave (use the oven and stove) and no kettle (use the stove top) it work out. : )WiFi and Connection is very sketchy. Taking a walk to Reception will get you connected.

    - The check-in/out staff member was very friendly. - View was stunning.- A mob of kangaroos greeted us on arrival.

    - We had to make up some of the beds ourselves- I missed this when booking but there is only one power point and you can't use any appliances, including a microwave or straightener. - We were expected to sweep the floor ourselves. I've never paid $300+ for a cabin and been asked to sweep it afterwards. If it was cheaper, this would have been totally fine. - On bookings.com it said "two bunk beds" with a picture of four beds in total, but there was only one bunk bed (two beds in total) - It was incredibly windy (not their fault) but SO noisy with so many things rattling, so I barely slept.- No phone reception. At all.- Wet dishes in the cupboard and clump of black hairs on bathroom floor.- These things night have been ok for cheaper. We expected a lot more for the price we paid.

Seeing kangaroos at sunset outside cabin was special.

Way overpriced. Cabins terrible. For 'off grid' with nothing near by I was expecting decent cooking equipment/utensils. Had a 2 bedroom cabin and second bedroom the bed wasn't even made. No fans which is fine if you have decent windows with security screens so can leave them open but not the case.Neighbours had music so loud but no one around to stop them. Reception only open for a couple hours a day.Had to take own rubbish when leave and even said had to sweep/mop over floors in cabins - no idea what we were paying for!The bathroom was terrible. Old, tiny and not laid our well. For $190 a night in off-peak time the facilities should be so much better.Honestly was the most disappointing accommodation we have ever stayed at ever!

Check in easy with code for entry and exit barrier provided, key for cabin, location of cabin and parking space allocation. As there was a running event in progress we were given an larger parking space.

The property is "off the grid" So there are limits on energy (electricity, water,) consumption. No hairdryer. Single USB port for charging phone..

Very clean, lovely staff members and close to heaps of bushwalking tracks. Highly recommend for families as this is a very kid friendly caravan park.

bunk bed room needed updating, better cleaning

quiet location is the only positive thing i can think of.Non access to phone and internet is crucial for starters.Although the staff was clear with instructions given, the overall experience wasn't great.

everything about the place was poor, although the weather was something to be reckon with.Fortunately, the floods came by a day earlier, which we escaped from.

Lovely property. Spacious cabin spotlessly clean and well equipped

On what turned out to be a very cold night with all of us with heavy colds, it was a little cool

Beautiful Location for nature lovers like me, wildlife, beaches, nature, river. Fire pits. All closeby to town amenities and situated right on the Great Ocean Road.

Only one power point in cabin was not ideal as hubby needs CPAP. Understandable given its generator power, we should have read our small print.

    10LisaPosted on: 7-9-2024

We were in a cabin at the very end that had recently been renovated which was beautiful. Overlooking the creek and away from a lot of the main facilities. The camping facilities are fabulous and very clean. Camping spots are beautiful too. Love that it is small and well spaces out.

We saw some of the other cabins that are in need of a refurb and would have been disappointed with one of them for the same price. Hopefully they will be done up soon. Whilst they are clean they are very tired and in need of some TLC.

Location doesn't get better than this. Ocean and forrest and abundance of animals. Clean and cozy cottages.

A bit cold in july, but there are warm blankets though.

    10LucilaPosted on: 6-24-2024

Where to start.. we just spent a night and left the next morning, but it has absolutely everything you need. Cooking facilities, parking, heater, very warm and comfortable space. We really loved it. When we left in the morning we got to see a few kangaroos! ❤️

Just be aware that there’s no such place to charge devices but we knew that and charged everything in the car while roadtripping. It’s not a problem. Use this days as an spiritual retirement ? don’t worry about your phone and download maps in advance
