Pros +
- The location was close to local restaurants. The bed was comfortable. I liked the shampoo and conditioner option but most motels use bulk items to use less plastics and be more environmentally friendly.
- Spacious and comfortable
- Location Size of rooms ie. Bathroom, bed/ living, kitchenette etc
Cons -
- The bathroom sink only had a hot water handle the cold handle didn’t work. I was close to burning my hand because there was no cold water to temper the water. The shower worked but you really had to tighten the handles to keep it from dripping. I thought the unit was dirty…terrible worn carpeting and human hair on two counters. Honestly I was afraid to touch anything in the rooms.
- Bathroom floor was uneven, sloping downward toward the centre drain. A challenge for one of the group to balance
- Loud disturbing noise all night outside behind the bathroom

Checking in was easy. Although an average , no frills motel, it was not expensive and met our expectations.
Nothing stands out as inadequate .
Standard motel room. Nothing fancy. Good for a staying a couple of nights if you need to stay in Portland. Close to all the shops.
Heating blanket was installed but wasn’t working.
The room was lovely and clean and the location was perfect. The recommendation of the local Indian restaurant was spot on. The amenities were everything we needed.
If anything, the heater was a little noisy but didn't deter us from having a wonderful stay.
Excellent location. Close to all amenities, within walking distance to CBD & shores
The leaking taps, dripping all day & night. It's obvious and yet I am surprised no one noticed it.
Good location.
Quite run down, and 3 bads jammed in a room with barely enough space between them to get in.
Good location, plenty of space to store bags and enter room, car parking available
Dated especially in bathroom, limited ventilation, and while plenty of space around room, beds were squashed in with limited space around them which made it hard to get to the sides of the bed and no bedside tables.
Nice, older style motel, but close to waterfront and hotel for dinner
Centrally located and easy access to local attractions. On site laundry a bonus.
Old but clean with good amenities; Foxtel provided
Size of the room was great. There was space for our motorcycle gear and large kitchen/cupboard area. Bathroom very functional
Some paving needed to be repaired
Melaleuca motel is reasonably priced and extremely well located close to restaurants and the harbourside. The queen room is spacious, has a comfortable bed, a couch, a table for two and a desk. Crockery and cutlery are provided as well as a microwave. Although there is no sink in the kitchenette, the hosts are happy to take your used dishes and supply you with clean ones, a great service in my opinion. The shower was excellent. The hosts are kind and obliging, and have done much to make this slightly elderly motel comfortable.
Affordable good location very quiet part of town..
Bed was bit unstable..Felt like a corner had collapsed.. Everything else ok
It was a good size room and kitchen area.
Photos on booking.com make it look much nicer than it is. Very dated, beds were not comfortable and dirty wine glass left in our room. Manager did not apologize, just said he'd have to speak to the staff.
Didn’t know they had breakfast there. Double bed to close to front window , wife couldn’t get out that side !!
Great location
We didn't like how the cleaner came in our room and turned our sit on off / no need to come into our room!
Clean quiet and close to everything
The bead creaked a bit. But had a good nights sleep. We actually stayed a second night
