Admella Motel

The manager was very friendly and the location was excellent, it was an easy walk to the water and very close to the main streets full of shops and restaurants. Portland is a small town with adequate sidewalks and street crossings so we didn't have to take our rental car to most places. The room was exactly as described in the listing so it worked well for us.

The location was great, quiet, a short walk to main street shops and also the visitor's information center. It is ideally located for the GSWW.The staff were very accomodating. meeting our needs by minding two small bags between our stays either side of the GSWW.

The hotel was awful. The photos online are not a true representation. The bathrooms need upgrading in particular the shower recesses. We decided we could not stay at the hotel due to the overpowering disinfectant that was used, probably to cover the age of the furniture and fittings.We wouldn’t have been able to sleep The hotel is suitable for student backpackers only. We booked the rooms based on the web photos and the room rate which is middle of the range for the area. The manager did not care about our concerns. We found another hotel up the road to stay in which meant one night in Portland for pensioners was way out of our budget.

That payment is taken upfront. What we paid for is not what was depicted online. More importantly, the manager did not want to know about our very valid comments.

There was a bit of noise overnight with workers coming and leaving the premises. It seemed to occur around 2 am and 4 am in the morning.

The overall atmosphere at the property was very good. Room was very clean. The staff were very good and cooperative. It was value for money.

The room was very clean with a parking space at the front door. It was quiet. It had a good shower although the bathroom is in great need of an upgrade the beds were comfortable.We felt it was not very hygienic having to share the single basin which was outside the bathroom and doubled as a sink in the kitchen We were not fans of the toilet paper dispenser and soap dispensers and there was nowhere to put anything in the bathroom.

I was not happy when I found that I could have got the booking for $15.00 less had I booked it direct with the motel.Previously to this experience I BELIEVED that if I made the booking through Booking Com the charge would always be cheaper than what the motel normal charged, - however, this is not the case. In future I would be checking this out before a booking is made through your company.

Heavy rain had damaged a the guttering and a constant stream of water was flowing from the damaged gutters. Very disruptive and very loud, unable to sleep
