Albert Hotel Daylesford

Pros +

• easy check-in
• We stayed in Room 5 at the Albert Hotel. The property had all the amenities we needed. I expected the room to be a bit bigger when we first got there but actually it was sufficient for our needs. We were surprised there was a little fridge with tea and coffee facilities as this wasnt listed on your website, but I was very pleased to see it there. The fridge was just enough to store a couple of things in it for the night. And milk was provided for a nice cuppa in the morning which was a bonus :) Unfortunately the bathroom and ceiling fan lights werent working when we arrived but a quick call to the staff rectified this promptly. The shower has very good water pressure and the claw foot bath was divine and so relaxing :) I really like the spaciousness of the bathroom. There was a stool, a chair, a towel rack, the toilet, decent sized basin, claw foot bath and shower over bath all in the one room. The border tiling was also magnificent :) I really liked the period features of this hotel, and the separate bath was great and worked well :) We preferred that to having the ensuite bathroom. It would be handy to have a door going from the bedroom to the bathroom just for added privacy, but it wasn't really that big a deal and it's literally 3 steps down the corridor to get to the bathroom anyways. The contactless check in process was very easy, and I am very grateful that we were able to have a later check out as well. Thankyou for an enjoyable stay :)

Cons -

• the lack of staff may have made the check-in process easier but i would've liked some human presence there
• The ceiling fan needs to be thoroughly cleaned as there was a lot of visible dust on it. Similarly there was a fair amount of dust around and behind the fridge. I also think the bathroom really needs a fan. It gets really hot and steamy in there and the mirror fogs up, and the only way to clear it is to open the door and the window. The bathroom also floods very easily when using both the bath and the shower over bath. We had a bit of trouble with the TV reception. The signal dropped out quite a few times and was a bit difficult to adjust. We could only get ABC and SBS channels. It would be good if there was an accessible power point on the left hand side of the bed. The power point is there but totally unreachable so not able to be used. The only other power point I could use to charge my phone was next to the fridge. The power point on the right hand side of the bed was accessible and working fine.
