    Pros +

    • Fantastic bed and linen. Very clean room. Good location.
    • No Breakfast option but location is great. It is over the road from the Echuca Railway station if you arrive by train. We came by car and there is plenty of space for parking. Easy walking distance to the Echuca CBD. The meals at the hotel were great.
    • Right opposite the train station, very handy if arriving by train and Close to Town. For the price I was very surprised, two beds 1 Queen and 1 single, bed was very comfortable. It is an older hotel so a bit dated but very clean so who cares only there to sleep. Small fridge so be aware if you have a lot to put in it. We only had milk and butter no problem for one night. Good value for money.

    Cons -

    • The room may have been slightly overfurnished which made it seem cramped for space. Did not see need for the sofa which took up a fair bit of room.
    • The clown in the room next door started his truck up early and left it running, we were nearly asphyxiated with the stink of diesel. Not the hotels fault. Unfortunately the restaurant was not open on a Sunday, having been to the Blues Festival we could have done with a night in. The RSL in Moama does nice food so all good.
    • Dishes some were dirty. TV needing remote batterries. Security lock was a problem. Locked out 3 times.

    It’s near the train station.

Its location. It’s a pub. The other clientele leave A LOT to be desired!! The place stinks of cigarettes. The room is dark with poor lighting. There was a machine outside of the bathroom vent that fired up and rattled to a stop about every half an hour so don’t expect to sleep.

Very simple and clean rooms. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Public bar attaching to the hotel is “old school” and staff were terrific. A gem.

Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room. Better than expected, and a great aircon. The pub is also a great watering hole, would definitely stay again

The Pastoral Hotel was chosen for it's location , we stayed 2 nights in Echuca to see the historic port and town. The hotel is across the road from the Railway Station and is a 10 to 15 minute walk through the Town Centre to the River Murray for the port and Paddle Steamer trips . As other reports say , the hotel is "a bit vintage" and the rooms , although dated , are very clean , it is rather like going back 40 years in terms of style but that has a certain charm !! The hotel side is in my opinion a gem , the country bar as they describe it is just that , a bit like walking into an Outback pub years ago , we liked it . The staff were very friendly and helpful and it was great to see . We did not dine in the hotel as one of us is a vegetarian and what looked like nice food didn't suit both of us . We ate in a nearby small Vietnamese restaurant one night , ok food , and an Italian The Roma the other night , nice food but very large portions . The hotel is a few minutes walk from a Woolworths Supermarket and a Dan Murphy's off licence . If you are looking for luxury maybe not but if you like an interesting experience in a good location , go for it , we did.

They did not do breakfast but there are plenty of nearby cafes in town so no problem for us

Old fashioned rooms, but comfortable, and good value.

Nothing aside from some noisy neighbours

    4DawnPosted on: 3-26-2025

Closeness to town. Bed comfortable. Shower good

Room next to us rented to 4 teenagers aged about 15-16 with no adults..playing music yelling, swearing smoking till 3am!! We had a long day that day so weren't impressed as we had very little sleep.

Room was basic but quite comfortable and clean. Location on edge of CBD and thus very convenient to travel in and out of town. I stayed for 5 nights.

More efficient air conditioner. Room was not serviced daily.

The staff were very helpful and friendly

Room was a little small but more than comfortable and clean

    8SnezanaPosted on: 3-10-2025

It was close to the town centre & the rooms were really nice to stay in

    The air conditioner wasn’t working.

The bar offers reasonable and well priced meals. All other staff were fantastic. The position is close to town. Has great potential.

Well for a welcome, a staff member was in our spot. Moved when asked, but still outside ours and our neighbour's room. THEN he came out and ran the car for 15 minutes while using his phone on speaker phone Twice. Extremely rude. Didn't make eye contact. Fumes unpleasant. The hotel is old, but has some potential if they cleaned the outside tables (where we were sitting having a drink). The room itself was clean enough, but the towels were thin and small. There is zero privacy if you open the curtains, so it's dark or open. A privacy blind is required. Overpriced for such a basic set-up. Staff should not be parked in the customer spots.

Good size room, clean sheets, clean towels, shampoo, hand and body, hand dispensers in bathroom this was all great.

Couldn't have a evening meal there, the TV in my room didn't work, I wasn't happy about this.

    10JacquiPosted on: 2-24-2025

The rooms were clean and quiet. The beds are really comfortable. Friendly staff, and the blinds kept the rooms dark.

Amazing staff, food was great and the chef was very accomodating to special requests. Rooms were great size, clean and great value for money.

    No complaints

    8CassandraPosted on: 2-23-2025

The rooms are behind the pub, and are quite old, but actually in very good condition. A bonus was the room was very quiet as unlike a lot of other motels this one is not on the main road through the town. It's close to the station overpass so an easy walk to all the restaurants and port attractions.

    8NeeniePosted on: 2-20-2025

Room was comfortable and very clean. It was like stepping back in time. It was very handing having the hotel and bottle shop next door. The food was great. A traditional Aussie pub atmosphere. Everyone was very friendly especially Ash the main person.
