The Grand Hotel Millicent

Location and value for money. Welcoming staff.

Easy to find and in a quiet pretty little town.

There was no heat upstairs and it got pretty cold .. once I was in bed with the extra blankets it was fine but earlier in the lounge it was too cold to sit & watch tv.

I love a stone built building, the wide verandah that catches the breeze. genuine staff who I see go above and beyond their duties, and a good feed too

communal space furniture has been abused by goons so it stinks a bit

Toilets and showers were modern and clean. Bed was comfortable. Bar downstairs had good meals for good price which was very convenient specially at night because there aren’t many places available in town. The ambiance was charming with decoration of the 1900s which made it quite a special place.

It is a good 40 mins away from Mount Gambiar

Having to share toilet, showers and wash basins with both me and women,open plan,I was so distracted I complained to the manager and she is happy for you to refund me as I did not stay there,I would like you to refund my card please.

Lovely old pub with lots of character, meals great, beds comfortable, close to supermarket,

All stairs, got plenty of exercise.

It's a lousy dirty and depressing places. Shared bathrooms are dirty beyond any possibile use.

Fantastic budget accommodation, this hotel provided me with a bed and several shared unisex bathrooms just down the hallway. Centrally located in Millicent, just a half hour from Mt Gambier. The after hours entrance is from the rear, and requires climbing flights of stairs.

She would of been a Grand Old Hotel back in the day. Prices are great value, it was a last minute booking, grateful for an overnight stay.

Price was okay for a one-night stay, wouldn't pay more than $50. Interesting residents and cheap meals.

More like a halfway house with unisex amenities. Windows rattling during the night but it could've been the resident ghost?Residents smoking cones and coughing at all hours on the balcony. No fridge or aircon in room and it had a musty smell.

Hotel was good. Meals. Value for money.

Bathrooms were ordinary. Needs work. No after hrs contact.

Price and location

Bathroom facilities were appalling filthy. I had arranged to check in early which the staff had no knowledge of and were visibly annoyed by. The girl who was supposedly the cleaner was extremely rude.

The bed was comfortable and the room clean

No heating in the room and it was absolutely freezing!

The location was great, on the main street and easy to find. The displays of the hotel's history were very interesting.

The unisex showers had nowhere to put your things. Towel, clothes or robe if you had one had to be hung on the shower door. There was no privacy.It was difficult to find my way out early in the morning via several steep stair cases and there was no clearly marked exit once outside.

Great price and great location it even came with a ghost ?

Bed was very hard and no heating in the room.

Great staff who made sure you felt at ease. A lovely old building with charm. Good communal and shower areas. Couldn't fault - excellent value for money if passing through.

Good hotel location. Possibility to go out to the shared balcony.Plenty of parking spaces near the hotel.Very good price-quality ratio.

Entrance to the hotel outside bar opening hours is only possible from the rear of the hotel. Uncomfortable narrow stairs that must be reached via a poorly lit approach.The bathrooms need renovation. Water from the shower spills into the bathroom corridor.The rooms are poorly soundproofed, you can hear what is happening in the neighboring rooms and in the corridor.

The hotel has a very old style so it's very charming. Really good price for the room and the food at the pub was nice !
