BED BUGS in the beds, extremely dirty dated rooms
Relatively clean and comfortable to stay.
The lady’s attitude at the reception area is terrible and arrogant, not helpful at all.
Food in the restaurant was excellent. Very tasty. Waitress needs to learn to smile.
Boil water notice so tricky brushing teeth etc. bed was a little hard.
The television signal was pathetic, the only hotel I have stayed at in Greymouth where they dont have SKY, to cheap maby. The door in the passage kept banging when someone came in or went out as the latch was broken and has obviously been for a while, so I didn't get much sleep.
Nothing really
The whole place was shabby. The room was shabby and dated and lack anything like air conditioning and the TV was very poor and one of the main Chanels was impossible to see.It did not reflect what is shown on the website.
The location was our reason for this choice
The accommodation was basic, there is poor ventilation in the room it had a cheap damaged fan, no air con. TV was very limited in choice. Kitchen equipment is low quality. Shower head was partly blocked and the shower tray felt insufficiently supported.
The food is amazing. We had my Mum with us for dinner on Friday night, and the food and the staff were beyond our expectations.Breakfast was fantastic too and we'll be back.
Everything was excellent.
The biggest advantage of this property is the location and the food and drinks. Greymouth does offer some dinner possibilities, but the food served here was one of the best!
Rooms were a bit basic and "older" but what do you expect for the price. It is the only "real" hotel in the neighborhood.
location was ok
Room very small and datedBathroom extremely cramped dirty around the bath was expecting a stand alone shower not a shower over bath was very oldwoolen blanket made me itchEntire hotel was very dated could really use a refreshPictures led me to believe this would be a lot nicerI have previously stayed in nicer rooms elsewhere for cheaper
Very tidy, roomy and quiet.
Lots of bad reviews about this place so I’m going to be objective… basically it’s not a hotel, it’s a motel, but was fit for purpose for our needs (one night to break up a long journey)Staff were fine, efficient check in and out, offered advice when asked.Room was clean, bed was fine, bathroom was clean. Great kitchenette stocked with cutlery, plates, microwave, fridge etc
As mentioned it’s essentially a motel, so overpriced for what it is. Ok so it has a mini bar and restaurant and they have room service, but…Room service: there’s a chargeRestaurant: menu put us off, $35-$40 for a main & $20 for icecream dessert. There’s a New World Supermarket just up the road, they do a great roast meal for $8.99 - use the well stocked kitchenette and put your feet up)Swimming Pool: only 50% full of water, not swimmableSpa Pool: no water at all.Gym: there isn’t one Not fair to sell these facilities and not have them usableOverall the accomodation is fine, as a MOTEL
Room was clean and the bed was comfortable
Not many facilities, reception a little out dated and not very welcoming
The rooms weren’t that clean for the price they were charging TV mode with sticky when trying to use it for the few challenges. It did have bathroom floor was sticky to
Very comfy bed and very clean room and bathroom. We had kitchen facilities which were needed for a longer stay. All staff were friendly and helpful
We had a unit outside the hotel and found the traffic noise quite constant throughout the night and that the kitchen blinds let a bit too much light in as well.
The quality of the hotel aligns with the bleak town.
Expensive / not value for moneyDated rooms and apparel
Very poor
No air-conditioning, unbearably hot. Terrible bathroom. Having a shower meant soaking the whole bathroom due to the poor layout and horrible shower curtain. Uncomfortable bed. Very poor lighting. Extremely disappointed in terms of value for money.
Rooms were clean and the staff did accommodate a request for room configuration change due to misinterpretation of advertised bedding.
Rooms advertised as having a single bed and two double beds - they didn’t, only two double beds. Staff did accomodate a request for an extra bed when asked though - appreciated. I’d suggest amending the wording to clarify. Swimming pool was weirdly half filled and a little dirty. Spa also not filled with water properly and most definitely dirty.
It was great that they had last minute availability, and we had a roof over our head for the night
Well, after giving us a downgraded room to the one we had paid for, we changed to the room we should have been in.Opened the door to find the tv (a pretty bad one) blaring, and the place was an actual sauna. Luckily they had a portable fan to have on thru the night. Next morning lo and behold, we couldn’t have a shower, as there wasn’t one ? there was no shower head, just a spout! The receptionist has no apology and was more concerned about what we’d had from the mini bar. She had no thoughts or authority and advised us to email the manager, or Booking.com.All and all quite comical for a $306 night ;)
