Sundowner Motel

Arrived on TranzAlpine with Abby waiting to pick us up.Super helpful prior to arrival by suggesting activities to make the most of our time in Greymouth.Motel is not far from the train station and a short work to local shops

The room was at the back of building not like what you see in photo and the noise from the bath room fan from other motel rooms was very noisy at night.

Close to train station and the best restaurant in town Alehouse

The property was in a perfect location for taking the train to Christchurch. There was also a large shopping center, and restaurants within walking distance. The motel room was spacious with many amenities. It made our stay feel cozy and a little like home.

Very large room with cooking facilities. Close proximity to shops, restaurants and train station. Laundry facilities.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had everything that we needed. It was near the centre of Greymouth. The motel room was very clean, the beds were comfortable and there was plenty of bedding to keep warm.

Excellent location. Kitchen was adequately equipped and beds were comfy.

It might be beneficial to consider installing a heat pump, as this could help keep the room warmer and reduce condensation in the bathroom.

Location on a busy road, a little difficult to access from the bus/train station without a car.Would have been nice to have an espresso machine in room.

Value for money, spacious room, easy access, friendly staff, amenities, etc.,

1) Cot to be changed to much of wobbly and distribute sleep.2) Poor wifi speed, we spent our mobile internet during our 3 day stay.3) TV can be upgraded, with no access to watch Netflix and other OTT's. At least management should make access that guests can access OTT's with their login.Overall, it's good to stay for one day, I recommend too. But no, for more than a day or two.I will book this motel again for a one day stay in Greymouth in the future.

Was not told on arrival that we should boil all water as have E. coli outbreak. No signage in unit to boil water. No water supplied.

Never sdvised about Greymouth having water coli issues and you should boil water. Television did not workRoom very tired

Great place to stay at. Clean, tidy and comfortable. Was great to have a sink in the kitchen to fill up kettle instead of using the bathroom sink. Shower pressure was fabulous.

TV system was frustrating.

We were in apartments at the back of the hotel so not what was pictured but had own parking spot and room as described. Given fresh milk for our tea. Internet was quite flaky so at night when trying to get connected was frustrating.Also the steps to our room from the drive were impossible, no head room so we had to go down the hill to walk past the other rooms and up the stairs for head room. Not ideal with a pram and shopping!
