One of the greatest assets of Sandpiper is the ownership. John and Annette are two wonderful, down to earth people that create a very warm, welcoming feel to the property. They’re fun to talk to and give the place a soul. The cottages themselves are quite sufficient and are stocked with everything you could think of and more. Some places I have stayed at cut corners in this regard but not here. Then there’s the beach! In less than 60 seconds, you can reach a gorgeous beach with practically no one on it. It was nice to return from a long day of hiking at Freycinet and be able to jump into a pristine ocean upon my return.
The kitchen was stocked with fresh eggs, a loaf of bread, a bottle of the best milk I ever had, plus butter & jam & 2 generous jars of muesli and granola. Wine, beer, and sodas were available for a reasonable fee. Coffee, tea, cooking spices, you name it, it was all there. And a big jar of cookies! Amazing thoughtful and fun. I really appreciated it.
Not a single thing.
Nice hut type cottages with beach views at the back.
Great location
No fan in bathroom and shower splashes all over bathroom
The privacy and good kitchen facilities. The welcome basket was much appreciated.
No fan in the bathroom so condensation was a problem.Would have preferred three single beds in second bedroom.
Love the location. Layout of the house worked well. Great access to the beach.
Lovely spot, beautiful cottage.
Not fixable, but beach was uncomfortably windy .
We recently had the ' pleasure ' of staying in the Sandpiper Cabin, comfortable, cozy, warm, and 3 minutes walk to a beautiful peaceful beach, the Sandpiper cabin had everything we needed, and the Welcome Hamper was great, local bread, free range eggs from their domestic chooks, Jam, Granola and Muesli. John was welcoming, friendly and helpful, with extensive knowledge of the area, we would highly recommend, and we would definitely like to stay again, and see Rex again, the Dog.
Liked everything.
Our second time to Sandpiper and we will be back. Such a peaceful place to stay and right on the beach, dog friendly and we had everything we needed.
I loved everything about the cabin and location, and it felt very calm and relaxing. The cabin had everything needed and more, and the arrival basket of fresh produce was so wonderful. The wood heater was our main focus of our travels and relaxing by ots glory was the best. .
Didn't rate the shower much. the pressure of water was very low and just a tight squeeze in the shower over bath, but I am a bigger size.
The room was fantastic. Even though it rained the ambience of the fire and deck still made it enjoyable to feel relaxed.Great breakfast hamper provided.Close access to Beach and welcoming of the pooches were wonderful
Amazing spacious cottage in a natural setting. All the comforts of home but surrounded by nature. A short walk to a fabulous beach and a 10 minute drive to the local town. Peaceful and tranquil at its best.
Such a beautiful cabin in a gorgeous location. Everything I needed was provided. Great kitchen, huge bathroom. Can totally relax here and switch off. The cabins are situated so that you are not aware of the other cabins, it's peaceful and idyllic. Great that it is dog friendly - and just a short walk to a magnificent beach.
Nothing to report here.
* The dressing gown in the bedroom closet;* the breakfast tray and basic food provisions especially the eggs from their chooks.* the spaciousness and outdoor chairs;* nice decor* very clean* Comfy lounge * beautiful beach with white sand just down the path in front
* no electric blanket on the bed and no heater for the bedroom. It was very cold at night. * the fan on the wood heater didn't work.* a fairly long way from Bicheno.*could a pump going at night.
The location was fantastic being right on the beach. The best part was we could bring our dog and have her with us. We will definitely be back.
We had a lovely time the Beach House was just devine we felt so comfortable. The manager was very helpful and sent us down a lovely hamper and sorted us quickly when we locked ourselves out! We just loved the access to the beach and that we could bring our dog who loved the beach. The best bit was that we had access to watch the Jack Jumpers win the NBL 2024!!
The only down was the bed sheets were a little scratchy!
Beach was ok
Garden and surrounds needed a lot of work. Not the cleanest place I stayed in. Over priced /not good value for money when compared with other properties we stayed in during our two weeks in Tasmania.
