Pros +
- staff helpful to all members of our family, great suggestions regarding local and regional adventures, beautiful interior, lovely neighbours, cafe's, taxi's, destinations, etc., all in easy walking distane.
- location
- The Riad is beautiful and staff was nice. Room as cute but small compared to other riads in Morocco. Breakfast is delicious and their restaurant provided the best Moroccan salads we've ever had. The rootftop pool must be very nice in the summer.
Cons -
- No. It was great!
- facility have a lot issues due to weather and need update like bathrooms and roof and towels
- Water was not hot enough in the shower for this time of year and there is no privacy between the bathroom and the room (glass door + a fairly transparent curtain). A large family gathering was happening in the Riad when we were there which made it loud at night and in the morning. We waited over 30min just to be able to order diner at the restaurant.

Lovely staff and great location
Shower didn’t work very well
The host was very welcoming and helped us in many ways. The room was very clean, comfortable and spacious. The breakfast was also very generous.
Faboulous riad in the inner city of Meknès. We took a sunny and delicious breakfast on the terrace with a stunning view. Our room was very spatious, lovely decorated, we had been upgrated to a suite. The host was very kind and helped us with all our questions. We definitely recommend!
Many thanks to all the staff of this Riad. We enjoyed our stay in there, breakfast in the terrace and the chit chats we have with the young lady. We wished we stayed more than one night.
Dar Safir would be nice without the rip-off in the end. It is situated within easy walking distance of the old city and most sites of Meknes. The lady running it is nice and helpful. The Riad is nice, we had a large suite with both separate WC and bath. Breakfast was fine.
Since there was no bottled water in the rooms we asked the lady if we could get some water and the young man helping her soon brought a large bottle. When we checked out the next morning, the lady was not there and the young man had troubles with the credit card machine. In addition to the room bill he presented me with an invoice (hand written) stating 200 MAD for the (1,5 l) bottle of water and asked me to pay that in cash. I knew that it was a ridiculous amount but our driver was waiting at the road, the young man did not speak English and I then (our second day in Maroc) did not yet know what a proper price should be. I therefore paid and left, But it clearly was a silly rip-off (I paid 1/10th later on) and if this guy thinks losing the reputation of his house is worth just 200 MAD then so be it.
The staff and management of this riad are truly the best. They are friendly, kind and helpful in so many ways. Breakfast was good and the two rooms we had in the riad were spotless. This riad is old so shows its age, but that is part of what makes its special. I highly recommend Riad Safir. The location offers easy access to all tourist sites.
We have no complaints
The Riad Safir is a very beautiful riad, and the roof terrace is amazing!! It's very authentic, and we can definitely recommend staying there. It's great value for money! It's located directly in the Medina, and all places of interest are within walking distance. You should try the hammam and massage that they offer - it's really nice! :)
Breakfast was good and a lot of different things to choose. But we missed the fresh orange juice that we got at all other hotels for breakfast. The room was as shown on the pictures. So nothing to complain about. You just have to be aware that there is no door to the bathroom but just a curtain and that there is no real window in the room (except one very small window high above that cannot be opened).
I just loved everything about this Riad. First of all : the staff is very kind, helpfull and communicative. I adored my room, clean, cosy, beautiful and typical Moroccan style. Breakfast on the rooftop was a joy. This Riad exceeded my expectations. Thanks a lot to everyone at Riad 'Safir'.
There was nothing not to like. Everything was perfect ? .I hope I'll have the opportunity to visit again!
The hotel is very beautiful, light, clean and with beautiful details. The room was spacious and the bed was big and comfortabel. The rooftop terrace is amazing, with many places to sit and relax and with a view over Melnes. The breakfast was very good and the staff was amazing. Would definitely come back here!
Super kind staff, wonderful terrace, very very nice breakfast.I forgot some stuff in my room when we left, they called me and keeped that for me, really nice people. They also gave us hints for visting and shopping in Meknes
Nothing to complain, really, just one thing to be noticed, the room was a bit "minimal" for a riad, but not a problem at all for us.The structure is a bit hard to find but there are signs that can be followed.
A beautiful Riad well taken care of by friendly staff
We truly had a great stay at Riad Safir which is amazingly decorated and well taken care of. We enjoyed the time when we were discovering every inch of it and we found so many hidden spots. All in all, I would recomment if you passing by Meknes !
Beautiful and clean riad. We had a good sleep. Breakfast was good. Would recommend it.
Pretty and beautiful place, the rooms have space and the breakfat y very good, the personel always pending if you need something, of course the location is very good near everything.
It's an excellent Riad with a friendly staff. The Riad itself and the room were superb and the breakfast was delicious, which we had on the roof with a stunning view of the city. Nothing to complain about!
Nothing!
Very nice host and great terrace. I left my phone in the room after checkout and they called me on my other number to get it back.Breakfast was great!
Air conditioner (heating function) was not working. It was quite cold. The towels had some stains.
Riad is located close to medina. The personnel is very friendly and helpful. They reached out to me to give us directions so that was nice of them. Room was clean and breakfast was tasty! There is terrace where you can have nice view on the city.
