Amazing hotel, even better than the photos. Truly 5 star service, we stayed for our honeymoon and they helped make the stay special. Wish we could stay longer.

Nothing to dislike, but beach area does fill up a bit early in the day. If you waited you could always get a spot thoughService at breakfast on weekends seemed to be a bit slower

It’s Beautiful, Relaxing and Serene! The staff were Happy and very accommodating ! The Breakfast was Amazing! The hotel very very clean! It was just what we needed. The hotel has so many nooks and crannies for us to Enjoy and Relax! We were still finding new spaces on our last day there! Wish we had more time to spend there! Awesome Hotel!!!! Oh and the Dyson blow dryer was also a great perk! I also don’t want to forget the house keepers, Our room look great everyday!

Service. 80% of staff were very rude and ruined the stay.

My stay was fantastic from start to finish. The room was beautifully maintained, the staff went out of their way to be welcoming and helpful, and the atmosphere throughout the hotel was warm and relaxing. Everything was thoughtfully arranged, making it a truly enjoyable experience. I would gladly stay here again

The vistas, facilities, breakfast, restaurants, attentiveness of staff and the charm of an older luxury hotel that has kept up to date. Faultless.

What incredibly lovely staff. Gorgeous spa facilities, incredibly peaceful even with the crazy weather. Would have loved to have stayed another day. Only downside is we had two beds pushed together for our deluxe double room and I kept falling down the gap in the night.

Any Belmond is exceptional! Here in Funchal, Reid’s Palace is like stepping back in time, into a luxurious hotel steeped in history. From the stunning interiors, the exceptional views, to the professional and wonderful Staff - everything anyone could ever want.

From the moment we booked, we knew we were in for something special, but we never imagined it would be this extraordinary.Even before we arrived, the hospitality had already begun. The hotel manager personally reached out to check on our arrival time, ask if we needed help planning activities, and ensure everything was perfect for our stay. That level of thoughtfulness already set the tone.Then, our flight got canceled, and we arrived much later than expected—past midnight. But despite the late hour, the staff welcomed us warmly, gave us a quick and seamless check-in, and personally escorted us to our room. And that’s when the magic truly began.Luxury Beyond ExpectationsWaiting for us in our room was a bottle of champagne and a handwritten personal note—a gesture that already made us feel incredibly special. But then, as if that wasn’t enough, bouquets of fresh flowers kept arriving, filling the room with beauty and fragrance. We were stunned. And just when we thought we had seen it all, we discovered a special anniversary cake waiting for us. We almost felt guilty for having eaten before arriving!Honestly, if you’re ever considering staying anywhere else—don’t. This hotel is in a league of its own. Every single detail is handled with grace, warmth, and absolute perfection.A Breakfast to RememberThe next morning, we woke up to one of the most incredible breakfasts we’ve ever had. Fresh exotic fruits, a luxurious spread of food, impeccable service—it felt like stepping into an old-world European dream, straight out of a classic film. Every moment at breakfast felt elegant and indulgent, like something out of a different era where hospitality was an art form.

If you ever find yourself looking for something to complain about at Reid’s Palace, good luck—because everything is flawless. From start to finish, the service, the hospitality, and the attention to detail leave absolutely nothing to be desired. If anything, the only ‘complaint’ we had was that we had to leave!

room location was perfect we had an amazing view , balcony opened to a picturesque scenery, bed was comfortable , spa was always clean and almost always I was the only one there , pools were super clean and was comfortably heated

Food excellent, room huge with massive bed and v comfortable

The breakfast was fantastic. Such a range of food and fruits . We both particularly enjoyed the detox drink each day. The location of the breakfast room is perfect with a wonderful view of the sea and morning sky.

Breakfast very good as usual . The hotel is in a great location with beautiful views. Food is v good throughout.

Since our last visit DVD machines have been dropped from the rooms . Other wise nothing
