- Breakfast was great. Good selection and they kept the buffet full and stocked. Staff were also very nice and helpful. Hotel is a very nice place to stay with spacious balconies.
Cons -
- As the street in front goes down to the sea there was some traffic noise. Parking was limited.
- Sagging uncomfortable bed
- No elevator, room service threw away are coffee but did not touch the beds, the balcony does not have privacy - the owner refused to install separating privacy glass or board because this will affect the look of the hotel exterior

Friendly and helpful staff, pleasant enough room
Sagging uncomfortable bed
Location, free parking, large room, refrigerator (small but good enough), 24h desk service, decent breakfast
No elevator, room service threw away are coffee but did not touch the beds, the balcony does not have privacy - the owner refused to install separating privacy glass or board because this will affect the look of the hotel exterior
Big room. Desk. Lots of blankets as the AC ran all night for great sleeping environment. The breakfast was included in the price and was fabulous. Hot entrees, fruit, yogurt, everything.24 hour staff in reception. They were most helpful on multiple occasions.
No hair dryer. The shower drains out into the bathroom but it drained under the sink and only one extra towel to steer the drainage out of standing way.
Convenient location, clean, spacious. If you're on a budget and don't have high expectations, it's a great choice.
The kitchenette was not equipped properly (no cups, no glasses, no spoons, no towels, etc); the wardrobe consisted in a few shelves in the hallway, not practical
We stay here everytime we are in Varna. Pool is great to relax and breakfast has all we need for a great start of the day.
Alekta Hotel is ideally located outside the hustle of Varna, offering a pleasant environment, free parking, and access to the beach within a few hundred meters. Situated at the end of the Sea Garden, a lovely stroll through the entire garden will bring you to the vibrant centre of Varna.
The hotel decor is of an earlier time, well done.
All was good, the pool ws inviting lthough weather in late May did not cooperate. The nearby Black Sea was a gift in itself.
Great location, close to the Varna Delfinarium (20 min walk through the city garden), breakfast was fine, the rooms were really clean, spacious and comfortable. They even put an additional bed in our room for our second child (4y) for free.
It would be nice to have a restaurant also for dinner in the hotel but there are plenty of restaurants in the area, so this was not an issue for us.
Cosy and spacious rooms, friendly staff, good breakfast, excellent location to explore the area of Varna and Golden Sands. The Alekta Hotel is situated 5 min walk from the bus stop (line 9,409,109 etc to Golden Sands, Airport and Varna city centre), 5 min walk to restaurants and shops, 10 min walk to the seafront promenade wich go all the way to Varna city centre. The Alekta Hotel has a front swimming pool for the summer and cosy areas for relaxation. The furniture in the rooms is a little bit outdated, but functional and clean with some interesting interior design items. For me was a pleasant experience overall
The furniture in the room was outdated with small damages
Well situated very helpful and pleasant reception, good sized room, very clean and comfortable.
There was almost nothing to like, besides maybe the breakfast that was kind of decent and the fact that you could find parking spaces.
This hotel is just awfull, dirty and expensive for the quality overall. The staff spoke in English. At fisrt when they checked our ID, fisrt the called someone to ask about something. I did not understand what they were talking about. Our room was at the 3rd floor, with the number 307. As we entered, there was an unbearable smell of mold, wothou oxigen, and even sweat. -The carpet was full of stains like there was a few dogs in the past that used the whole room as a bathroom.-The ceiling was full of cracks and the paint was alredy falling apart -The bed emanates a terrible smell, it was gross and with a lot of stains everywhere - The furniture overall was cracked, with stains, sticky and with a lot of dust That room i guess was for unwanted guests or for the ones that use that room only for one or two hours....without cleanings. We then went to the reception and we asked either for our money back or for a room that is clean and decent. We also payed in advanced. Then, the person at the reception spoke with someone and we were offered another room.It was at the first floor, kind of decent, without a bad smell. The furniture was still destroyed, the bed was still bad. We went to a supermarket and bought some chemicals to clean the room and bath, just to be sure. The walls were made out of gingerbread...we heared everything from downstairs and upstairs...The bath was made withous sense. The shower was in the right, but the drain, was in the center of the bath, having the whole floor in water, foam and with the risk of getting flooded if you was for too longI did not manage to take amy photos to the first room, because we were just in shock but i have some of the new room.I really don't recommend this place.
Hotel is getting better as its restoration continues. The room needs a deep cleaning.
Some usual hotel equipment must be supplied to room; like a kettle, single-used slippers and other needs.
Lovely location, pretty comfortable. Great place for value offered
a bit outdated design
The staff were amazing, they couldn't do enough for us. the reception was staffed 24 hours and they spoke good english and the rest of the staff spoke broken English. There was plenty for breakfast which was good value for money, traditional Bulgarian, we enjoyed it. Car parking was literally on the front door, we went out of season so plenty of space when we was there maybe a struggle when the hotel is busy but there may also be another car park. the hotel was well maintain, spotlessly clean, our 3 three rooms were well decorated with modern en-suite shower and toilet.
we requested a double bed and as usual when staying outside of the UK we got twin mattress that was comfortable but usually the bed frame held the mattress together so no slipping between them. the 2 quits was big enough for each mattress. Not much to do around the hotel without driving, We had a rented car and plenty of things to do so wasn't a problem for us.There's also a lovely Italian restaurant a 5 minite walk that we went to 3 nights in a row because the food and service was great.
Clean, with a good view.
Don't have a teapot in the room.
The hotel has good potential. It is evident that it has been renovated, the garden is meticulous, the furniture is modern. Ppl in the reception nice and helpful.
But, God is in the little details. It seems that the person who planned the renovation is not knowledgeable in the field of hotels. This is reflected in insufficient lighting, electrical outlets in inappropriate locations (electrical appliances in the kitchenette are not easily accessible), no racks in the bathroom, the shower faucet is at a much lower height compared to the average person. All these are small things but together they create an unsatisfactory experience.
There was enough space and good view for my apartment , nice bathroom
The air condition was blowing hot air , even on cooling mode, that was horrible to sleep due to humidity inside. Thin walls - all night somebody was snoring - Armageddon!!The day I left I realised I’d forgot my T-shirt in the room and I called to the reception, receptionist replied but he was rude on his Bulgarian language during talking with his colleague about my situation that was quite inconvenient.
