Super Hotel Chiba Ekimae

The hotel was a great value. The staff was friendly and the rooms were well appointed & spacious.

I like amenity set , free choice for pillow and having onsen .

Very close to Chiba rail and monorail station. 7-11 across the road. Friendly staff. Shampoo and soap available in room, other amenities available at reception (limited quantities per person).

Very small bathroom but probably the norm for Japan. Free breakfast spread is Japanese-style with grilled fish, rice and a range of side dishes. The only Western-style options were sweet pastries. No instant coffee or tea in room despite kettle. Free instant matcha green tea available at reception. Free coffee dispensing machine (hot/cold) also available at reception.

The breakfast was fantastic! The pastries apparently were made by the staff themselves and were flaky, just like a professional bakery. You could sit in the breakfasting area anytime and soft drinks and coffee were available throughout the day. The concept of the hotel is "green and organic," so the food is plentiful, but also limited to avoid food loss, which I thought was very nice. The staff was exceptionally kind and attentive. I accidentally booked the wrong room, and they fixed it for me immediately, which I appreciate very much.

The onsen on the first floor is very small and three of the nine cubbies to put clothing were out of order. We couldn't even fit four people in the changing area and had to hurriedly exit in order to give other people a chance to use the space, and put ourselves to rights in the room. Not a problem, per say, but just be prepared. What was very helpful, and I didn't notice until afterward, is that there are monitors above the doorway perpendicular to the check-in area that tell you how busy the men and women's onsen were.

For what I paid, I got so much. The design of the room made the most out of the small space.
