    Pros +

    • the room was quite spacious and there was a vending machine and microwave on our floor. we requested a seaside view and they fulfilled our request. the staff was wonderful, they let us leave our luggage for the day and even lent us umbrellas, and helped us book a delivery for our luggage to our next hotel. the location is also convenient as it was near a station.
    • Excellent location very friendly staff
    • The breakfast was very tasty, the staff was friendly. They also had after breakfast hours, a nice patisserie selection with Montblanc cake and seasonal pumpkin roulé for Halloween, very delicious. I also enjoyed the 1990s vibe in the lighting, but my favourite was the breakfast view on the green garden on the station side. It was convenient in the evening to come back with the Keith line to Soga, Chiba minato station also has connection with monorail to Chiba main station. On some hours Narita express can take you to Ofuna super quickly, which is convenient to go to Kamakura just for the day. I think Chiba Mall also had some interesting shops, I haven’t been for a long time, but I think some products that are in high demand in Tokyo are sometimes still available in Chiba. Oh I also enjoyed the Pola body wash, shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom.

    Cons -

    • the hotel can be a little outdated looking for most people, but it doesnt really matter for us as long as its clean and the staff are nice :)
    • Rooms fairly small
    • There is very little that you can say was not good. Maybe it wasn’t necessary to replace my toothbrush every day?

Staff is very helpful and communicate with Google translate. Easy access to train station.

    10LachellePosted on: 4-27-2025

We loved that the hotel was steps away from Chiba Station, and there was a mall 15-20mins train ride away. Also, we walked within the neighborhood and found a bowling alley (Ashli Bowling Alley), we had so much fun!

Nothing, we tried to extend our stay but they had no availability.

I was attending the Star Wars Celebration at Makuhari Messe. The Chiba Port Plaza hotel is in an excellent location for this, taking less than 10 minutes on the train to Kaihimmakuhari station (and the hotel is only 3mins walk from Chibaminato station). The staff were very polite and helpful, and the hotel very clean. The shower was fantastic! Good pressure and water volume.

The bed was comfortable but a little small for a tall person such as me (190cm).It's possible the room was once a smoking room. I used the provided air freshener each time I entered the room. The buffet breakfast was fine for having a good, solid meal, but the selection was limited.

I stayed at this hotel when I went to an event at Makuhari Messe. It's only a few stops away on the Keiyō Line and it was so much cheaper than the hotels in the Makuhari area. I'm very happy with my choice as, why my friends who stayed in Makuhari reported endless queuing for the check-in, rooms that smelled of smoke and other things like that, I had no such issues and actually had a very nice stay at Port Plaza Chiba :-)The staff is exceptionally nice! The reception people are warm and friendly and you can tell they care about you. They also speak English. Even the cleaning staff and the people at breakfast were super nice. Staff-wise, it was the best experience I had out of the 4 hotels I've been in Japan during this trip. There is a bathtub in the room, the bed is very comfortable, the view from the window is lovely, and the hairdryer worked amazingly well, given the different plugs in Japan! The room itself was big: I could open both big suitcases I had with no problems. There are also some nice toiletries that I liked, and I loved how quiet it was (when the noisy fridge was turned off). Every night, I slept very very well. The subway station is right next to the hotel, on the other side of the road, which makes it a fantastic location if you need to travel to other areas of Chiba.I would definitely stay again!

I would stay again at this hotel, so these are all small things that didn't impact my overall stay, especially given the price. Here are a couple of suggestions of possible things to improve:- the fridge was turned off when I got into the room, and I quickly understood why. When turned on, it is very noisy.- there's only one pillow on the bed. It would have been nice to have two- no safe in the room :-/- the vending machines downstairs need some convincing, haha. Most of the time I wanted a drink, I had to touch my IC card 10-15 times and, after being "denied" transactions all those times, it would eventually work- the WC/toilet itself is a bit outdated, and what I thought was weird is that the "wand cleaner" button, which was supposed to be there (based on the instructions right above the panel, inside the bathroom), had been removed, so you couldn't clean the wand :-/. I still think it cleaned itself once in a while, based on the noises, but it would have nice to be able to do it.- the room was mostly clean, but I did find a hair attached to the handle of the bathtub and there was quite a lot of dust in the vents (but once again, given the price and the location, it's to be expected)- bad coffee at breakfast (though the food is good!)- If you want to get some takeout for lunch or dinner, be aware that there aren't many options. But this is not the hotel's fault: it's just that there isn't much in the Chibaminato area

    Great entry and foyer!Great expectations!

Sadly bedrooms were cramped.Breakfast was not up to standard.Pastries were stale, and no bread for toast, trays empty.Coffee machine not working and the juice was also not working. ?

The location next to the subway station was quite convenient. The Internet connection was generally fast and stable.

The main issue was the staff were not particularly helpful or friendly. In particular the restaurant staff seemed quite lazy. I asked for a glass of water on a few occasions, and it took me around three asks for them to finally give me one. Which seems a bit ridiculous. Particularly since they were doing nothing particular at that moment, except scrolling in their phones.

The place was just normal. The attitude was bad. They didn't let us change our reservation and their excuse was that booking.com had already charged us and they could do nothing about it.

Good hotel with plenty of facilities to enjoy. Very close to a train station, konbini, supermarket and pharmacy. The staff was extremely polite and gentle. 10/10 service.

There weren't many restaurant options close by. You need to go a little distance to find more.

It looked very lavish. Room was clean and it had a very nice view. Staff was very helpful when I had trouble finding the building. There was a refrigerator in the room. Microwave and ice are available, just on a different floor.

The only thing I didn't like was how small the room was, but for only one person it's ok. Plus as long as you are out of the room more than in the room it is ok.

    4WeiPosted on: 3-15-2025

    Free parking

The room is very small and cramped, meant for two people instead of three. However, we paid for three. It was difficult to move around with two large suitcases open.

    7KaPosted on: 3-15-2025

There is a wide variety of food at its Breakfast buffet. Room are clean and staff are polite. It is close to the JR and monorail Chibaminato station.

It doesn't provide disposable slipper. I would also appreciate if they can put a bottle of water in the room.

    9JejemonPosted on: 3-14-2025

Just beside Chibaminato and Chiba Monorail stations. The room is spacious. The lounge sofa. The wonderful view of the harbor. There is also a quiet (not chaotic) bus terminal just beside the hotel going to Chiba station and Tateyama. A mini-mart, drugstore and bakery inside the train station.

The room was not thoroughly cleaned when I checked in. The housekeeping staff missed a corner. It was soiled with crumbs and aluminum wrapper.

Calm hotel, with view on the marina.Nice staff. At 2 min by feet from the monorail.I can just recommend it for the place!

Quiet location, large room, large beds, very friendly staff. Great little Izakaya next door.

No laundry machines. The lunch buffet was a little disappointing as 90 % of it contained pork. Oh well ?

Nice hotel in great location, easy access by train and monorail.
