Hotel Metropolitan Yamagata

I stay at the main building for the first night. Everything is good except my room is a bit small. But I changed to a bigger room at the south tower for the subsequent night and it was an excellent stay.

Room at main building is a bit small for me and it is in the older wing. But it is very clean and good enough if you don’t mind the design and room size.

Excellent location. It is just beside the Yamagata station which also has a mall S-PAL. I upgraded my room to a bigger one at the new south tower at a very reasonable price. The room is modern and chic. Not to mention cleanliness and comfort. The japanese restaurant serves great food too. Had a great stay.

Convenient location in the train station. Nice view from the tower. The front desk staff was very helpful to sort out a flight booking issue. Very satisfied with our stay for one night.

Two separate restaurants / dining area for breakfast (Japanese style or Western) so if you are not alone, you must all need to choose one in order to eat together. No gym/fitness center. AC cannot be set below 20 Celsius and our room was boiling hot with direct sunlight.

The overall experience was great. Wonderful location and super clean. This is my second time staying here and I’ll definitely be back

Location was outstanding . Place was very clean ,but perhaps best of all was the care and attention shown to one of our group who fell ill. The young trainee rang around to get a clinic, organised the taxi, sent through the relevant documentation & then rang the clinic while we there to see our friend was ok. Outstanding Japanese hospitality .

As with most Japanese hotels, the rooms aren’t big, but they are clean & comfortable.

The hotel is linked to Yamagata station, which makes it a good location for making day trips to nearby attractions. There were several eateries nearby as dinner options. There are also 2 convenience stores near the hotel.The room was modern with a comfortable bed and clean toilet. It was nice that the room came with a humidifier, to increase the humidity of the room during winter.

The room came with a big bed, big bathroom and nice television and desk with a big window. The location is amazing with a direct entrance to the main station.

The the internet could have been better. I wish there were more washing machines because there were many guests.

The location is the best, right beside the train station without having to step outside.The room & lift entrance's decor & style is also really pretty.Room and bathroom are also modern and spacious!Most value for money hotel in my whole trip! Highly recommend!Also convenient to visit Ginzan onsen & Risshaku-ji temple by train.

Clean and very well presented hotel with excellent staff. Very good value for money. Bed was comfortable and room was very clean. Complimentary toiletries were an added bonus. Location next to the train station was perfect.

The staff were all very helpful and friendly. We used the hotel as a base of operations and were able to leave our luggage at the hotel in-between one-night trips. I would love to stay again and recommend it to anyone.

Spacious room, comfortable beds, friendly staff, central location, and very quiet.

Breakfast. We’re not that much into Japanese breakfast (though otherwise love Japanese food), so a bit more options for European breakfast would be nice.

Location is excellent

The head spa from Spa Salon in 5th floor. It did over-charge me which the head spa marked $7900~ but the staff charged me $9900. I tried to ask in English but the staff could not satisfy me with a reasonable answer. It make me feel bad for the trip.

For our itinerary, this place was perfect. We planned to use Yamagata as a base to see Zao, Ginzan, and Yamadera. This hotel is attached to the Yamagata station, which is the central place to start the journey to any of these places. Other than that, the hotel is pretty standard for Japan. It's clean, lots of toiletries offered, and friendly staff.

Location is great. It is in the same building of yamagata station, turn right from the exit and the hotel is on the right which is opposite with mall.Everyting is good but one thing is I haven't seen lobby to relax.

Just located in yamagata station and very convenient if transfer bus to Zao.A supermarket nearby.The room is quite new and clean
