Hotel Route Inn Tendo

Staf always greet visitors, which gives a lively atmosphere in the hotel lobby

I was asked if I wanted a non-smoking room, but I still ended up with smoking room. ?

After staying at this hotel I will now exclusively stay at this particular chain “Route Inn” from now on. I enjoyed absolutely everything they had to offer. The on site onsen was so comfortable. The relaxation room was always kept clean and the vending machines fully stocked. The location was very convenient for my family and friends.

Clean room, reasonably equipped, and good value stay. The room was on a floor where the elevator smelled like smoke, the hallway smelled like smoke, but somehow the room didn’t. Bath facilities were pretty good, walking distance to railway station (15m) and local attractions.

Included breakfast isn’t great, room was aging. Smoke smell even on non-smoking floor (more outside the room at least).

Staff are friendly and all the facilities are maintained cleanly.

Laundromat just offers two washing machines.

Easy and quick check-in, the standard Route Inn breakfast which is good, friendly staff, a couple of restaurants nearby with late hours

Internet was a little problematic after checking in - whatever it was seemed to disappear a few hours later, the nearest supermarket or conbini is about 15 minutes of walking

Easy to get to off the highway, staff was friendly.

It may just be preference, but I found the beds so firm/hard that I had trouble getting a good nights sleep.

PRICE: Given that the price included a buffet breakfast, I would definitely say that it is one of the best hotel rates I've found. LOCATION: There is a nearby Starbucks and Max Valu supermarket accessible on foot within 10-15 minutes. Across from Starbucks is Road Station Tendo Onsen, which has a bookstore, a coffee shop, and a big souvenir shop. Within walking distance from the hotel are two foot baths (I think).ROOM: The room can probably accommodate two adults. MATTRESS: The bed was quite firm. It's perfect for me because I like this kind of bed.ROOM AMENITIES: In addition to the usual amenities, I liked it that there were power outlets at the bed headboard. STAFF: The staff at the reception when I checked in was very helpful. They were friendly and smiled a lot.Check in was smooth. So was the check out.BUFFET BREAKFAST: Plenty of choices for a typical Japanese breakfast: rice, egg, grilled fish, Japanese curry, sausages, salad, miso soup, porridge. Drink choices included tea, milk, and orange juice. There are also some bread options with usual jams.INDOOR ONSEN: The onsen was one of the main reasons I booked this hotel. It was a decent size and was a great way to end the day.RELAXATION AREA: There was also a relaxation room just outside the onsen rooms which had two massage chairs, plenty of vending machines.

This isn't a complaint but just to let potential guests know.I'm not sure if there's a nearby convenience store. The nearest one I found was MaxValu, which was a 10-minute walk from the hotel. The nearest fast food places I saw were Mos Burger and Nakau.

The single bed is indeed quite big.
