Dormy Inn Morioka

Breakfast covers a wide range of traditional Japanese small dishes in addtion to the standard breakfast items in the Western countries. I always love the Onsen on the 10th floor. The bath tubs inside and out are clean and comfortable. Complementary service of ice candies or lactic-acid drink like Yakult are wonderful.

The complementary coffee machine on the 1st floor was not available around noon.

Nice basic hotel in a good central location. The staff were helpful and having dedicated parking was a bonus.

It meets the Dormy Inn hotel standard, with an onsen and free ramen.

Parking is limited, so you may need to park in a nearby area and then return to the hotel to arrange and pay the parking fee.

Everything!!!! Everything about this hotel was well thought out, and it was very clean, love the big vanity, this hotel went way beyond expectations.

A short distance from the station, but area was convenient.

Complimentary noodles, drinks, sleepwear and most importantly the public bath.

The location was excellent. A quick walk to the castle ruins/Iwate park, and several local landmarks like rock-splitting cherry tree and the red brick building. Everything was comfortable and clean, and the public bath was great on my feet after a long day of walking. They also had free ice cream and yakult in the reading nook by the bath, and allowed you to take books back to your room. They also served complimentary noodles in the restaurant after 9:30pm. It’s also a quick walk to a shopping district with plenty of restaurants, and about 15 minute walk to Morioka station.

Loved the helpful staff, the onsen on the top floor and general vibe of the place.

It's about a 10 minute walk from the station, but we actually enjoy that and it is near all of the main shops and restaurants. Just pointing out that it is not at the station.

Rooftop bath and sauna was great relaxation. And free ice cream and ramen to top it off!

The hotel was very nice. The Onsen was very relaxing and clean! The staff were very kind and helpful! The area around the hotel is very nice as well! I plan to visit again!

The tattoo stickers here seemed to be harder to remove after bathing. It also wasn’t very clear about the ability to bathe with tattoos here.

Breakfast was supposed to be included and they mentioned they would validate parking - neither of which happened. Nor would they even assist at the front desk.

It’s close to Morioka station. Has a wonderful natural spring onsen. A very nice Breakfast buffet is included , as well as free evening ramen from 9-11pm. The washer if free and dryer only 200Y. So it is a very good deal

Nothing I didn’t like , other than you have to understand this is a hotel catering to Japanese businessmen. It was a little harder for my family. The rooms are a little smaller , and the staff , while friendly, aren’t so used to foreign travelers . Some speak a little English. Hot springs or onsen are separate for men and women, but remember NO clothing (swimsuits) is allowed and no tattoos in the public bath. But Japanese are used to it and I really enjoyed it.

Breakfast was great and the highlight is definitely the onsen at the top floor - you can even have free ice cream/yakult after a relaxing bath. There are other free services such as coffee and free ramen at night that I did not manage to try but I could see that the hotel really takes pride in taking care of its guests. Oddly, I had limited interaction w staff other that during check in and during breakfast but that's okay for an introvert like me :) Room was big for its type compared to similar room types in other cities and bed was comfy as well. It is also a good 10 min morning walk away from the split rock cherry blossom tree.

Location is a tad away from the station (10-15 mins walk) but you can just take the bus or enjoy the walk past the shops (visit the shopping street nearby!).

Excellent location, amazing top floor artesian alkaline onsen (hot spring baths) and sauna facilities with separate portions for gentlemen and ladies, with yakult lactobacillus shooters in the morning and cold fruit or vanilla-chocolate popsicles in the evening as after onsen refreshments; free half bowls of ramen at night until 23:00, which are not too small at all; meticulous, friendly and effective housekeeping staff with daily options for cleaning/no-cleaning and fresh towel service. Clear and informative signage for first time onsen visitors, and attentive management who are responsive when there are any issues to resolve. Front desk was more than happy to accommodate a week-plus extension of our initial two night stay. Family friendly, great value for cost and within walking distance of central Morioka, the castle park, main street neighborhood dining and evening izakaya (drinking establishments with great skewers of tasty goodness). Don't miss the puppy cafe around the corner or the exotic owl cafe and Jajamen noodles downstairs of the wonderful Gusto Cafe.

We wish we could have stayed longer but had non-refundable reservations elsewhere. :p

Hotel rooms were clean, location pretty central, can walk to some places of interest. Carpark is the auto park style and payable. got an extra pillow cos the one in the room was really flat and the counter lady was quick to pass it to me when I asked for it. No comment on breakfast we we ate out , otherwise an ok place to stay. Onsen was good too.

Onsen is nice and breakfast is outstanding.

12 minutes walk is not so easy with luggage but acceptable. A map at the train station did not have Dormy Inn. Wonder why..

Great location - amazing breakfast, lovely onsen.

Same music playing everywhere in a short loop. The only small issue. Otherwise it was superb.

Good location - close to main shopping precinct and sites (eg Morioka Castle and Ishiwarizakura (The Rock-Splitting Cherry Tree)). We went for cherry blossoms and was worth the trip north.Clean. Free laundry facilities a bonus.Rooms are small but adequate.We are a family of 5 so had 3 separate rooms next to each other.

There are both Indoor and outdoor onsen, although they are a little bit small but enough for a quick refreshing bath.

Breakfast is good. Free drinks are offered till 9pm. Onsen is good for relaxation. There is a supermarket nearby.

It is a bit far from the Morioka Station.
