Pros +
- Very friendly staff, decent breakfast. The rooms are small, but it's close to a station in a major city in Japan - can't expect a huge amount of space.
- Great location, close to the station and easy to get food from nearby restaurants/convenience stores. It was also very clean and well maintained - I stay in hotels from the same chain as this and its competitors often, and this one was one of the best I've seen so far. Excellent value for money. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.
- Great location, free breakfast, clean and comfy all with very affordable prices.

- Nothing negative to say, my stay was very positive.

- The breakfast hours weren’t posted anywhere in the room, only in the elevator

It was near the station and quiet

Close to the train station, clean rooms and great staff
Bed was hard
Location
No wi fi in lobyVery cramped breakfast area
Good breakfast, and nice clean rooms and very comfortable/firm bed.
The building only has one lift so it can take a while to get up and down to/from your room especially if loading in luggage.
Great spot for adventures around Morioka/Iwate - less than 5 minutes walk to Morioka station, with plenty ot local transport options nearby. Staff were helpful, courteous, spoke enough English to assist us, and enjoyed my attempts to communicate in broken Japanese. Would definitely visit again - thanks!
Great location near the station and restaurants, easy car parking, area downstairs where a group could hang out and decent sized room for Japan. Good breakfast buffet.
Pillow and bed were quite hard. One elevator that got very busy in the morning.
Free breakfast. Lovely river view.
Lift is inadequate.
Breakfast was alright. Short walk to the JR station. Bath tub is very big.
Hard beds hard pillows
Very short walk from the train station. Friendly staff, clean rooms, great breakfast.
I stayed here just for one night, and Toyoko Hotel it's just what we need. It's very close to the station. They provide everything we need (amenities and pajamas), you just have to take it from the lobby. This hotel is good for introverts, they even asked do we need breakfast or not on the TV. We didn't need breakfast because we're planning to eat outside, I hope I helped reducing waste by choosing no breakfast. definitely will stay at Toyoko again if I need a transit hotel. The design is REALLY SMART, especially the bathroom. One faucet for bathroom basin and bath tub, amazing. The room is a bit small if you're a big size.
Very well organized, clean, and friendly service. Breakfast wasn’t thrilling but it was included and it was nutritious and delicious.
The bed was a little hard, and so were the pillows. Everything feels a little standard. I think this chain needs a little more character.
Check in staff were friendly, breakfast was good.
Having to wait until 16.00 when my room was obviously cleaned and ready for use.A ridiculous rule that served absolutely no purpose. Booking through Booking.com removes privileges if Booking through Toyoko Inn's own website.
Location and value.
Only provided tea makings in room - no coffee which most other competitive hotels provide. Breakfast restaurant menu is somewhat restricted.
We chose this hotel because it was close to the main station, which was wonderful. There was also a 7/11 in the corner which I appreciate. The included breakfast is simple but I still enjoyed it. The relation price-service is really good overall. The room had a lot of space, this is also very positive.
1. Service: Doing the Soba Challenge in Morioka was my number one goal, so I was expecting the staff to help me out with the reservation. It was incredibly difficult to make them understand that it was important for me. They kept saying I should go and try without making a reservation. However, I went personally to the restaurant located near the station and they told me they were fully booked. Maybe it was a communication problem but at the end I had to go to the tourist center at the Morioka Station and they helped me immediately. Even though they spoke even less english than the hotel employees, they tried everything they could to understand my needs. The service at this hotel is very dissapointing. 2. Housekeeping: they do not clean every day. You dont even have the option that they come in so they can change the towels or take out the trash. For this reason, I do not think this is a good place to stay more than 1-2 nights!!3. Amenities: this is the type of hotel where you have to pick up yourself everthing (amenities, tea, Yukata, etc) at the lobby... if I knew this before, I would not have chosen this place to stay 4 nights.
Nice location, good bed.
The breakfast wasn't quite to my likings, but that's probably just because I'm from Europe.
This is a good Japanese style business hotel. Close to the station and the room was clean. One side of the building looks over the river so it was a nice view. Staff were very helpful. They also could look after my bag during the day There was a free simple breakfast. Coffee, juice, rice, bread, salad, natto, and other meat items. They care about sustainability, so you collect only the goods you require (nightwear, comb, etc) on first floor. More than satified,
The pillow was a little more solid than I am used to, but I was able to sleep with it anyway. I wish there was a higher clothes hook somewhere in the room to hang longer clothing items like kimono The elevator was busy but it can't be helped.
Great location with nice breakfast but the hotel only has 1 lift. It’s quite crowded with guests.
