    Pros +

    • The buffet breakfast was amazing , the bed was okay , shower is very small
    • I stayed here because of limited options during the summer festival season and was worried the non-smoking room might smell like smoke. (I’m extremely sensitive - more than most people). Happily, there was only a tiny bit of stale smoke smell in the lobby. The room including towels were absolutely without any evidence that the hotel has smoking rooms!
    • Very friendly, thoughtful, and attentive staff.

    Cons -

    • The staff were great however the reason I won’t return is that in our room (302 or 304) the bed was *extremely* firm. I like a firm mattress but I imagine there are more comfy coffins. There was an egg crate on top of the mattress that didn’t help. I noticed when they were cleaning some of the other rooms might have had different newer mattresses, so maybe other rooms are better? We knew the hotel was full and generally don’t like to complain, so that is why we did not mention it to the delightful staff. It was only a 2 night stay. We moved to the Richmond as planned previously which was 10/10. At the Route Inn, breakfast was ok but not very vegetarian friendly and the baked goods were not up to the standard of other similar hotels in Japan.
    • Pretty hard mattresses, although that's a frequent occurrence in Japan. Facilities and rooms slightly dated, but clean and OK overall. Breakfast not bad, but not outstanding. Still overall good value and a good stay.
    • The water in the public bath was way too hot. I know they're supposed to be hot, but I couldn't get in, and I've been to other hot springs. Parking was not included in the price, it was also across the hotel, according to the staff, for 1000 yen per night, which is expensive, it's better to park further away.

The location was fantastic, since it was close to downtown and the train station. The breakfast was good and checking in was quick.

Very handy for station. Smart room

I would have liked a light by bed to read by, but just a personal preference

The 3rd or 4th time staying in this hotel, mostly as a transit hotel to or from ski resorts nearby. We chose it due to the proximity to JR train station and affordable cost. Its money for value when considering the distance, convenience, onsen, acceptable room size. Last stayed before covid. This time, there is a sweet surprise that renovation was conducted for the rooms, which has become more practical (hangers added, some furniture re-arranged to increase space). The lighting system was also changed to digital. One can check from the tv how many people had entered the onsen to decide the right time to enter.

Route inn is always a great option. The rooms are always clean, small and comfortable. The staff were always helpful. Great onsen and breakfast.

Check in was fast, the room was good for the price and the location was pretty solid

The room was extremely dry. I had a small cough before arriving, but just stepping into the room gave me horrible coughing fits. The coughing persisted the whole night, and suddenly got better when I stepped out of the hotel again. It was so bad I hung wet clothes around the room, but even they dried in hours even though it usually takes over a day

Great location right near Morioka Station. There is a shower/bath in the room as well as a hotel public bath. Breakfast had a good variety.

    Good location.

Breakfast room is a little bit too small. It is jammed during rush hour but staff try to facilitate well.

2nd visit, perfect for anyone needing to use morioka as a base. Super near to station. The bath at the top is perfect when you get in late and want a quick soak.Breakfast is good too!

    Nope. Nothing, perfect for solo

Excellent breakfast.Car parking involves driving into a lift. The car park attendant was especially kind and friendly.

    8TimothyPosted on: 6-6-2024

Very good location, on flat near the station, buffet breakfast, free coffee, vending machines, microwave, very helpful staff. There's eateries & food shops close by if preferred those to using the hotel's evening restaurant, not open at weekends.

Would have preferred a wider choice in the evening restaurant - but a minor point.

    8DorothyPosted on: 4-23-2024

Excellent location, double room spacious and comfortable, bedside lamps, quiet.

Pillows like rocks and the bed not much better! At least give your guests a choice of pillow.

    9CheePosted on: 4-20-2024

Excellent location , the amazing breakfast, and overall value for the money.

The only thing is probably the air conditioner took a little while to get used to. Nothing else.

    5RachelPosted on: 4-19-2024

The staff are very good and it's close to the station.

The bed is very hard, there's no control of the aircon, the shower is hard to use because it keeps pointing towards the wall.

    8PaulPosted on: 2-22-2024

Had to skip breakfast, great location close to the Railway station.

    Room is small.

    8PeterPosted on: 2-18-2024

    easy access,staff great, clean hotel

    8ViktorPosted on: 11-18-2023

The location is perfect - 1 minute walking from the train station. The breakfast buffet varies, so you don't get bored of the same options every day. Value for money. A nice little onsen on the top floor.

The internet connection in the room is poor, which I consider a big minus. The hotel management should also consider starting breakfast earlier - a massive queue forms already 15 minutes before the current opening time.

Excellent location near the station to take early trains Public hot bath
