Pros +
- Hotel was clean and staff friendly. The onsen at the related hotel down the street was nice, but in hotel would be better. Beds and pillows in Japan are harder than we are used to, so not totally comfortable for us, but in the end we did not mind.
- Yokote Plaza Hotel is located directly next to the JR Station and very close to local restaurants. A fantastic public library is also across the street. The staff is generally very friendly and helpful.
- The hotel is next to Yokote station, so we only had to wheel our luggage for around 5 minutes between the train station and the hotel. The location of this hotel is also good if you are intending to visit the Yokote Kamakura Festival in February. The toilet looks renovated, and appears to be newer than the room. This hotel offers complimentary use of the onsen at yuuyuu plaza, which is located in the nearby partner hotel (around 5 minutes walk down a straight path outdoors in the snow).
Cons -
- The associated hot spring bath (ofuro) is a 5 minute walk through a parking lot to a building down the road... or uncovered on the sidewalk. Fine on sunny days, but not pleasant when it is raining (I can't imaging how it would be when it is snowing). While undergoing renovation, some components (carpets, hallway paint) show age and wear.
- The furniture in the room is a bit dated, and the bed frame has tears in the fabric. The room is small so we were unable to open 2 luggage at the same time.If you can, I would recommend booking their partner hotels (Hotel Plaza Geihin and Hotel Plaza Annex Yokote) which are newer and have in-house onsen. We were unable to book a room in the partner hotels as the rooms there were already fully booked (due to the Yokote Kamakura Festival).
- Booked non-smoking rooms, but the elevators, hallways, and one room (of three) smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, making it unsafe for one asthmatic member of our group. Rooms had ageing fixtures, stained carpets and walls, and uncomfortable beds. Wouldn’t recommend staying here if other options are available.

The hotel had a nice restaurant, and it was open late, which was good because the rest of the town closes a bit early. The baths at the annex were also nice. And the location is good, especially for the Kamakura festival.
The room was incredibly small and the bed was very uncomfortable.
It was right next to the train station, so getting in and out was very easy. And there was daily housekeeping.
The room was really small.
Location close to the station and late check-in were nice.
I stayed in a single smoking room that was so filthy with stains and dust everywhere that I was too scared to step on the carpet without the indoor slippers. My friend stayed in an another single room that was as bad.The price was way too inflated (170€) because of the many festivals in the area. Hot baths are in another neighboring hotel. This hotel seems to be aimed more for men, which of there was no mention of on Booking.com. There is Ladies Plaza Hotel on the other side of the train station.
Good location (next to the station).Okay facilities and amenities. You have access to hot spring in their other location.Free beer (if you are staying in the capsule hotel)Laundry and dryer in the same floor as my room.
There were insects inside the room.Funny smell around the hallway / corridors. The room I got was smaller than expected.Room was not clean (some stains on carpet, dusts in the flooring, some insects crawling).Wifi is slow.People staying in the capsule hotel were loud and noisy.
Breakfast was really wonderful. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very quiet.
Our room was little bit small for 2 suitcases but it was okay.
Staff was nice and helpful
The room seems a bit old and outdated, but the toilet is new and clean
Great public bath.
Some guest is a heavy smoker. It have a smoking smell when there are coming in an elevator.
The room was just the right size for one person! The heat was on before I even got to the room which was a huge plus after walking to the hotel in the snow! The tub was the perfect size for a nice bath :)
I'm not a fan of Japan's really hard pillows so I wish there was an option for a softer pillow!
Good value overall. Decent location even if parking next to the hotel can be a bit complicated (multi-level parking with few available spots).
Nothing in particular.
I love JR capsule hotels. This is the second one I've stayed at and they are top-notch!
Hotel was great, beds were comfortable and staff were really helpful
