Pros +
- So close to train station
- This is a very affordable hotel and probably why so many families were staying there. They provide well-designed, completely free lockers for our luggage pre check-in and post check-out; they have a good laundry room; they provide nightshirts and slippers. In short, they make it travel a little easier and affordable than most places.
- It's close from the JR station.
Cons -
- Very tired, room was drab. Toilet seat kept closing when you sat on it
- The street entrance is a little shabby.
- Everything is old, it smells old, the hot water in the shower was come and go, the mattress was rock hard. If you can just spend an extra couple of yen and get yourself a better option.

The location was amazing! Directly outside of Fukui train station (a 20 second walk). We could go from our hotel to our train platform in only 5 mins.It is very close to restaurants, Starbucks, taxis right outside the hotel and lots of shops.
The room was a bit small for 2 adults but we were only there for 1 night so it was fine.
The hotel is kinda old.. it’s given! But the staff is always smiling and I like that.
the room is not clean.. there’s a cockroach in the white curtain. I need to remove it by myself because I have a special child. no bottle water inside the room or even a coffee.
The location is amazing, directly at the station. Perfect for exploring all the dino themed places. The staff was also very nice.
The location is located at the strategic area, near to the train station, so it is easier to those who are travelling with more/big size luggage.
The hotel price included with breakfast but I cannot eat breakfast because it's a fasting month. I want to put the food in the food container so that I can eat later but the food cannot bring outside and must eat at the dine area within that breakfast time. It is quite a waste of money for the breakfast fee charge.
The hotel is incredibly close to Fukui Station, making it convenient to get to. And the included mixed Western/Japanese breakfast buffet was very enjoyable, even if the inclusions were very standard. The price was also fairly reasonable.Even though it generally met my expectations for a low-cost business hotel, there were several small things which left me with an overall negative impression. (See below.)
The elevator: The elevator door closes way too quickly. Even if just 2 people are boarding without anyone on it, the door starts to rapidly close shortly after the first person enters. This caused me to get hit by the elevator door multiple times, which I could imagine injuring children or frailer people.Poor room location: We got a semi-double room, which was itself fine. However, our room (room 524) was right at the end of the hallway on the 5th floor. Directly in front of our door was the door to the washing machine/vending machine area. So because of the poor sound insulation of the walls and doors, we were regularly disturbed by the sounds of people talking, the washing machines and dryers, the opening/closing of the door, etc. If it was impossible to design the hallways and rooms to avoid this issue, then this room should only be given to customers if it is the LAST possible availability (at the time of my booking, there were 4 rooms left), and it should be given at a discounted price.Breakfast buffet time: We chose the last time slot of the breakfast buffet, between 8:35 and 9:00, and arrived just before 9:00. Within 10 minutes, we had just barely gotten our food and drink, and the staff already began putting all the food away. If guests are allowed to arrive up until 9:00, then at least leave the food until 9:30 since check-out is until 10:00 anyways.Vending machine: This is minor, but there was only an alcoholic beverage vending machine next to an ice dispenser, without a regular vending machine. Although the tap water in the room is drinkable, that should not be the only choice.Bed: The bed sheets and comforter were made of a slippery, non-porous material, causing it to slide all over and making it uncomfortable to sleep in (or on top of, since the non-porous material makes you sweat). Also this is just a problem for me as a 195 cm man, but since the bed was sandwiched between two walls, I could not fully stretch my legs while on the bed.
Chain lock for baggage. Easy to use and convienent. One of the most cheerful front office staff i met during my stay in japan. Free breakfast included
Room a bit cramp though.
The location is very closed to the train station.
The room is so small and old fashion, the cost is more expensive than hotels in Osaka.
Very close to the Fukui station. it was a rainy day but no umbrella was required on foot.
Small room.
The location of the hotel was perfect for the train travel we did. The breakfast was beyond what we expected and was excellent. We are Americans and there was a mix of Western and Japanese foods. It was nice to have familiar fare, but also to try new dishes. The staff was very attentive and polite. Cleaning of the room was thorough. We appreciated having a laundry facility on site, and the storage of our bags after check out and before our final departure were very helpful.
Surprised by the daily changing of linen and towels. Smoking on designated floors still left smoke odors floating up and down the stairways.
great location and nice free breakfast
twin room was so tiny
Breakfast was excellent value. Location is superb as just next to station & buses
Rooms are very small & tight. No special care amenities for ladies
Hotel is right outside Fukui Station which was really helpful since I had to catch an early train. There are convenience stores and a coin laundry nearby, so that's good. The coffee and room amenities were nice.
Maybe it's just the room I was given, but time caught up to some of the hotel's facilities. The bathroom could have been cleaner. I didn't find the pillows comfortable. The room felt musty. They provided room and fabric fresheners so that may help.
The location is great, short walking distance to and from Fukui Station with train and bus access. It’s also walking distance to shopping, restaurants, and convenience stores. The bed and pillows are less firm. The fridge was a good size and didn’t freeze my food items.
The room interior is outdated. The wallpaper could be replaced due to some staining/evident lines from age. While the hotel is non-smoking, there’s a slight odor from when it was a smoking hotel in the past. It’s not extreme but it is evident. The door is a lock and key, the door itself locks automatically but it’s a little annoying to walk around with a key and large keychain versus a card. You can also hear hallway noise very easily.
close to the station, many shops nearby
The elevator situation was annoying. Only one elevator for the property.
The location was second to none - literally a minute from Fukui Station, West Exit so convenience was top notch. The staff were also very friendly and went out of their way to help me with some issues I had despite their limited English skills. Appreciate it! Oh, and the TV in the room is a smart TV so you can watch YouTube on it - that was good.
The building is very dated and needs a serious overhaul. There is no soundproofing in the rooms at all - I could hear my neighbor snoring every night as though they were sleeping right next to me. The gap under the door also meant that you could hear people walking up and down the corridors and opening and slamming their doors at all hours. It didn't make for good, quality sleep. My room's bathroom was very temperamental - sometimes the water kept running so it essentially wouldn't stop flushing even though one of the staff came up to check the issue. The complimentary breakfast wasn't great - the Western section was basically very mushy scrambled eggs, some bland cereal and bread. There wasn't even proper cutlery like knives to put spread on the bread, which was baffling. It wouldn't have been too much of a stretch to have some bacon and sausage. Lastly, the rooms used actual KEYS; not keycards. The last time I stayed at a hotel that used physical keys was probably over 10 years ago. It just didn't feel very safe and secure and the fact that you had to deposit your key at the reception was always a hassle, especially when there was a long line.
The location was very good, it's practically in front of the bus stop, JR Fukui station, and Echizen Railway. I got room at 8th floor, so the view from my window was pretty outstanding. The room was fresh and clean, no stinks from smoking. The breakfast had many variations from bread, rice, curry, tea, coffee, milk, juices, etc. It also provided Fukui specialty dish, Sauce Katsu, which is pretty awesome for the price.
The shower's water pressure was very weak, probably due to my room on the 8th floor, so it took longer time to bathe. In addition, since my room was near the elevator, the voices from the elevator can be heard. It was not really a problem for me, but some people might find it annoying.
Good location. Even near by railway but not noisy. Noises from hotel customers
Poor breakfast quality. Not many choice as in pictures. I went to breakfast at 8a.m. But nothing left. Then asked to staffs to refill foods but staffs(old lady) just brought foods for people who did request. Pillow in room was uncomfortable.
