Pros +

  • Emma is a lovely host, who does everything for you. Warm lunch, dinner if you want, she drove me in the city to buy a lot of stuff for the Kilimanjaro-Trek since my backpack was lost, so that I could still do it. The house is very clean, good shower with warm water, and it has a nice living room too if you want to relax a little bit. Really good beds, quiet area so you can sleep very good at night. Just a little bit outside for walking by foot in the town, but that is no problem since Emma is so friendly and will for sure arrange everything that you could go and come back there.

Cons -

  • Location was changed from my original booking which was in Moshi to an area called Shantytown, 4 miles out of town. Not good when you have to rely on public transport, and getting to food shops was a long way. The house was clean and well presented but totally lacked atmosphere, the neighbour's were practicing the drums for hours, and a serious leak in the bathroom was eventually fixed. Television was not connected, was done on day 2. Meals were overpriced and small servings, I was allowed one free small bottle of water at breakfast. Milk powder is used, not fresh milk. Why does it say 'shared kitchen' when you cannot use it? Mary the housekeeper was lovely and helpful. I was told the price had increased from $50 to $60 because of the change in location, expecting me to pay extra, I paid the quoted rate of $50
