Hotel Nikko Niigata

The sea view was amazing especially that morning, it was snowing.The breakfast was great with many varieties of foods. I love the omelette with cheese and ham freshly cooked, served with your friendly chef. All in all, thumbs up ? greatly appreciated, thank you Hotel Nikko for all your warm hospitality. We will definitely recommend and surely come back when we visit Niigata again ??

Good location. Easy walking distance to ferry and hydrofoil to Sado Island (700 meterd). Across street from Bandai fish market and very good restaurants. 10 minute taxi ride from Niigata train station.Breakfast is good.

As a chain Nikko Hotels are usually good. Hotel Nikko Niigata is a bit old. The beds are a bit too firm (4 of us on 3 rooms).The hotel charges a hefty upcharge for a second person in a room.The temp control does not allow a temperature cooler than18 degrees C.

Location was perfect and hotel staff was great.

Bed was not comfortable and breakfast Buffett was cold.

The bathroom is spacious and clean. It is the tallest building in the neighborhood, and my room is on 26F, so I can see really far away from my room

Location is quite far from the station But there is a bus stop nearby.

The breakfast was excellent, as was the view and location

The carpet in the room was stained, and very worn, as were the furnishings which were scuffed and marred and in need of replacement. The room was also very small.

Excellent view from the room. Good food at breakfast restaurant. Superb kindness of the staff.

Bedding was not entirely comfortable. Room was very narrow and long, as such, TV viewing was not possible from the bed. Bathroom was tiny.

Great location if you’re taking the ferry to Sado or visiting Toki Messe, but not so convenient for walking around town. There is a free observation deck on the 31st floor, and the rooms are all above the 22nd floor and have great views as well. Parking in the underground hotel garage is surprisingly cheap and easy at 1,000 yen a night.

Food options are scarce. The cafe on the observation deck stops food service at 17:00, and the Chinese restaurant on the lobby level is super expensive. You’ll have to drive or walk to eat.

I was so happy I booked in Nikko hotel as I has a conference at Toki Messe, especially in this hot weather! Kind and clean room service ladies, staff, and a great view with quiet atmosphere. Thank you!

The location, by the ocean, is great, and the view from the top is extraordinary. The room was clean and spacious and the morning buffet was terrific. We needed laundry service and it was prompt and expertly done. You'll probably want a taxi to get into town but once you're there, you can walk to your heart's content.

Honestly, not a single thing let us down — the only downside was having to move on and continue our journey to Tokyo for our next adventure.

Great view of Japan sea and shinano river. Also sado island and mountain range in the distance.

Bed was a bit hard

It’s honestly hard to walk anywhere from this hotel. It’s got a great view, the rooms are all high up. However the hotel restaurant is very expensive. I took this hotel because it’s right next to the ferry port, and we had an early ferry the next morning. Otherwise I wouldn’t stay here if I was a Holliday maker. If you are on business, perhaps OK.

Best location if taking ferry to Sado Island. Spacious room and bathroom is spacious too with shelves and baskets. Bathroom has a box of facial tissue, a dustbin and shower cap is also provided (lacking in most hotels).

Pros: Great view. Excellent breakfast. Early checkin (2:00 pm) and late checkout (11:00 am). Very spacious room, with comfortable lounge chair. A top sheet on the bed, and a huge bathtub.Cons: A long way from the train station (about a 25 min. walk), which is not good if it’s raining. The air in the room is very dry and you can’t open the window, so a humidifier would be helpful.

Top rated hotel with a nice water view. Enjoyable top floor to hang around with good city view. Not far from Bandai market with all kinds of food to buy & eat. Felt a bit restrictive during check in.

this is my second time choosing this hotel in Niigata. the view is amazing!

Views were good to get a Panoramic view of the city

Need to have restaurants in the hotel due to its remote location. Only restaurant open was the Chinese for dinner. Also the sake bar should be on the top floor as one could enjoy the view and sake

Great view from the observation deck and room. Good value for money, rooms feel a tiny bit dated but are super clean. Bathroom is spotless (maybe recently renovated?). Make sure to check out Pier Bandai which is close by for all your food needs.

We both like firm matresses, but this one was so extremely firm that it was actually a bit uncomfortable. Still better than a super soft matress though!

The view was absolutely beautiful and the staff very helpful.

The room had a very faint smell of cigarette smoke. Not in the curtains or bed, but in the furniture and window frames. I assume it was converted to a non-smoking room some time ago and the smell has still not fully faded. Nothing major though, it didn't bother me (and I am very sensitive to the smell).
