Pros +
- Cheap and by the station.
- Solid classic Japanese business Hotel right next to, as you might expect, Niigata station. The building is definitely retro, there's still a phone with the round dialer in the lobby! However, I was mostly happy with the facilities, staff were great, and the rooms smelled fresh and were clean.
- Hot water did work
Cons -
- Racist check-in clerk.
- It also has the not as great side of retro, the hallways definitely have some lingering age and smokiness, though to be clear the rooms themselves (the non-smoking ones) were great and did not have that at all, really impressive honestly. Also, maybe because I was there during the Niigata Matsuri, but the price was not really great for what you're getting on my dates.
- Bad smell, dusty, old decor from decades past..

Very close to Niigata Station and shopping surrounding the area. The room I stayed in was very spacious.
I knew it was an older property, but as tired it might be, they do a good job.
Good service as they will delivery the hanger to your house.
Although it is not their fault, there were noisy customers around my room and sometimes the pedestrians outside shouted at night. And the air conditioning was unpleasant.
Location-wise, it's near the train station. you just have to cross the road. it's a fairly old hotel but serves the purpose. Like the usual Japanese hotels, the room is just small enough for a bed and few furnitures. there's a small fridge, desk, chair, full length mirror & open cabinet. there was, i believe, a non-functioning / unused, heather under the table. they could've taken it out to give more space for luggage.they still have this big old door key of which was unexpectedly convenient since they asked you to leave it at the reception. i went to a concert so i didn't have to bring that heavy key in my bag.i also asked them to receive and keep a letter mail for me before arrival and they were very efficient and accommodating.there was unlimited coffee, tea and some toiletries at the reception.
The receptionists spoke little English so they didn't explain about the robes placed outside the room or probably expected the guests to read notices posted on walls. All signs were not in English, so just be ready with your translator apps.
Location is convenient, just a few minutes from Niigata station exit. It’s clean.Wi-Fi speed was good for calls.
Booked it to stay after the fireworks in Nagaoka.I can understand that peak in demand changed the price, but ~¥25000 per night was not worth a value for money, it’s a bit old and has no facilities, aside from tea / coffee machine in the lobby. The bed was rock hard, so we didn’t rest well. However there was nothing really bad in this hotel, it’s just the balance of price and result wasn’t very good for us.
Incredibly close to the train station. Also very friendly staff. Furthermore I had a bathtub in my room, that was great! The bed was also very comfortable, and the room was super clean.
The air conditioner in my room was quite old and couldn't cool down the room.
Central location
My friend had to change her room because of bad smell in a non-smoking room.
Staff was nice and efficient. The bathroom was nicer than i expected. The hotel building is a little old, but the bathrooms seemed to have been renovated. It had a washlet and nice shower system. It's better than i've seen in other hotels of similar age and price. It was summer and the hotel provided a free drink cooler in the lobby, which was nice.
the entertainment devices and furnishings were old in the room. (old TV, dvd system etc)The air-con was a really retro model and took a few minutes to understand how to use. But it really didn't affect my stay at all.
Very convinient location. Nigata staton was just around the corner. Lot's of bars and restaurants to enjoy in the evening. Eventhough the hotel is in the center of the City, it was very quiet in the room.
We couldn't Park at the hotel and had to Pay extra money. We had to buy a card to Watch TV.
- Perfect location virtually right outside Niigata Train Station. Many city and intercity bus routes stops 2 minutes walk from hotel outside station.- Many eateries and convenience stores around area. Lawsons and 7/11 right outside and 24/7 McD 15mins walk away.- Clean room/bathroom, and toiletries incl. yuzu bath salts provided.- Didn’t try the restaurant but menu looking good and well priced- Room was very competitively priced
- Room is typically smallish Japanese Business hotel room. Would be difficult to fit 2 people and large luggages in room. Great for 1 business traveler though.- Centralised heating in winter. Was warm and can adjust fan speed, but cannot control temp. Had to open window to cool down room and reduce humidity in winter.- Because of small room, lots of condensation and humidity in room after bath or shower. Room would benefit from dehumidifier (but truthfully would be hard to find space).- Basically furnished. Reminiscent of Japan Bubble era (1990s) business hotel.- Overall great price and location can’t be beaten. Perfect location if have early morning train or intercity bus to catch.
Clean and functional. Lovely staff
