Toyoko Inn Niigata Ekimae

The location is great with access to downtown Niigata and the train station which is less than 5 minutes walking away, connecting you to the rest of Niigata. There are 3 washing machines and dryers in the lobby and free luggage storage as well. Luggage storage is not overnight.

There is only one double bed room on each floor, so my family of 4 had to split up between 2 floors. I wish we'd known this and we would have booked one single room instead (since our second child is still a toddler)

Location

They refused to allow family members to help an elderly guest to the room, stating that only registered guests were permitted. However, they also did not offer to assist the guest themselves or explain how to use the amenities.

The breakfast was good. The location was excellent as it is located to walking distance to the station. The problem was that it was nearly impossible to be check-in and check-out by car. Is it the only way to go to the narrow back street to be picked up and drop-off? It was confusing.

The access to the hotel by a car. The raised height of the bathroom. I wonder why the level of the bathroom is raised, as other accommodations have the same structure. No hair dryer in the room.

Good location with affordable price and very good breakfast and staff is top notch

Simple and cheap, but exactly what I was looking for.Near the Niigata main station, with restaurants, shops and convenient stores all around. Basically, everything you need for a quick stay. A simple yet good breakfast was also included. All in all a regular stay at Toyoko Inn, it's always the chain I look for.

The building to get there looks a little sketchy and it could be difficult to find it at first. Also, two elevators must be taken, to reach the rooms.

Breakfast was excellent: healthy Japanese meals and staff was very kind and polite. Location was excellent: next to the bus station, train station, easy to go shopping.

You don’t need to bring the clean towel set every single day. Not necessary.

Perfect location for those who need to stay over for one night and catch an early train the day after - it’s right next to Niigata Station. Friendly personnel and varied breakfast.

As a non-smoking person I could instantly smell the room I’ve got was for smokers. But I opened the window and it did not bother me throughout the night.

Chosen because info said it was very close to the station.

Confusing entrance. It took us half an hour to find out where the hotel was ( after enquiring at the ground floor convenience store and being pointed upwards with 4 fingers). Only sign outside was in Japanese with the word “Inn” featured. To non-Japanese this could be frustrating.

Location to transportation, clean, nice employees.

I was hard to find the hotel, it was in a business building with other businesses. The hotel was located on the 4th floor of the building.

Friendly and helpful staff, clean and well-equipped rooms.

Great location, right in front of the train station. The room was clean but a bit small, we couldn’t open both our luggages at the same time, but that was to be expected. The staff was friendly and helpful with our inquiries. They kept our luggage before check-in and after check-out for a few hours. Also, the breakfast bento box was delicious.

The beds and pillows were a bit hard and the AC in our room didn’t work that well, but we could open the windows, so it was alright at night.

Compared to similar hotels, the breakfast was lacking. If you want amenities, like a toothbrush, you have to get them for yourself from the lobby.

The breakfast was very good and I appreciated the bento boxes because I was running late.

They said my Kei car was too big for the parking.

Very near to the Niigata station.Place is neat and very clean.Allowed late checkout for additional ¥1000 per hour.Breakfast was nice and satisfactory.Allowed luggage storage as early checkin was not allowed. Staff were nice and welcoming.

Room was small. Smaller than the Japanese standard (Based on our stay at other hotels in Japan).

Staff are helpful & friendly,they only speak Japanese but they have translator device for helping our queries.

Great location connected to the station, takeout curry breakfast was good, staff was kind.

Please have an express checkout / key drop box!

The staff were courteous, even though I am a non-Japanese I could manage.

The rooms weren't too spacious, limited leg room!

Location is good and price is relatively cheap.

Items of Breakfast need to be increase and as I am a foreigner so English translation of food ingredients or food names are very important to understand.
