The hotel smells like nicotine haven entirely and I'm sure the Air Condition System filtration system hasn't been cleaned or even replaced.

However, there was one staff member who was quite rude and made me feel very uncomfortable and somewhat angry. That young lady clearly seemed to look down on me.I had booked the wrong date—I was supposed to check in today, but my reservation was for tomorrow. I calmly asked whether there might have been a mistake on their side. They checked again and confirmed that the error was mine. Although I was frustrated with myself, I politely asked if it was possible to check in today, and she said it was.From that point on, her attitude became very grumpy. I could clearly feel her unhappiness. When she explained the rules, she spoke very quickly in one go without looking at me, even though she knew I would have difficulty understanding. I felt upset, but I didn’t show it—just kept a neutral expression and nodded.After everything was done and she handed me the key, I smiled and said thank you, but she ignored me and didn’t even look at my face. That behavior felt unprofessional.That said, the rest of the staff were very kind, respectful, and helpful.

The room size was reasonable and comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located near a train station and many restaurants, making it easy to get around. However, as it is also close to nightlife areas, there can be some noise during the night.The staff were friendly and provided good service. we booked a non-smoking room, there was still a noticeable smell of cigarette smoke in the room. In addition, the pillow was quite firm, which made sleeping a bit uncomfortable and caused some neck discomfort.

It is at a convenient location strolling around the city, especially to and from the train station. The staff are very nice and friendly. Free amenities are provided at the lobby, you only take what you need for the stay, and they also provide pyjamas as usual. It's an old-style hotel but everything works fine.

I chose a non-smoking room which the reception also confirmed during my check-in. However, I'm not sure if it's a bad ventilation or what but I could smell smoke once I enter the floor, and even worse in my room. I don't know how I could smell smoke from my non-smoking room, even with the air purifier it didn't help much. I didn't report this to the reception though as I didn't want to bother moving to another room and I only stayed in my room during the night. But if you have bad allergy to smoke, you might want to reconfirm with the hotel beforehand that the air in your room will be clean and safe for your health.

The hotel is located a straight easy walk from the station, but Googlemaps may direct you to the obscure rear entrance that doesn't have a ramp! I like that this hotel actually has coin laundry. The amenity bar was open and convenient so you can grab what you want/need without having to ask staff. I booked through booking.com and had the option to not include breakfast, so that was money saved. The bathroom was also slightly bigger than other budget hotels I've stayed at in Japan. Overall, this is a great value for the cost if your priority is saving money.

As a few previous reviews mentioned, there is heavy secondhand smoke smell throughout the hotel! It's not noticeable in the lobby, but to me, it was very strong in the hallways with rooms. The smell wasn't as strong inside my room, but it was still very noticeable and unpleasant. If you are sensitive or allergic to smells, then I recommend looking at another hotel. The air purifier machines in each room did zero, to me, at taking away the smell, even if you leave it on 24/7. And it is so true the furniture is fairly outdated and retro-looking, and not in a good way. My bed mattress had springs and it squeaked somewhat as I slept. Last, the coin laundry is also overpriced. You'll pay 800 yen minimum to wash and dry a small load (up to 4.5kg), and my small load was still a bit damp even after paying to dry it for 60 minutes, and I didn't even wash hard-to-dry items like towels or denim.

It was a comfortable stay for us. Good location, helpful staff.

They didn’t have thin quilts. It is just thick duvet, which is not comfortable if you don’t like to use air conditioning.

Unfortunately the overwhelming smell of stale cigarette smoke permeated every part of this hotel - despite booking a non- smoking room.

As a non-smoker the smell of stale cigarette smoke through out the whole hotel was overwhelming (although I booked a non-smoking room)and I could not leave the hotel fast enough.

Room size is larger than usual. Reception staff are very helpful and professional. Washing/drying machines. Microwave and eating area. TV options. Vending machines with Sapporo beer! Large lobby reception area. Good location. Quiet rooms.

The location is handy, close to the station

Quite dated building, facilities of the 70s. Airco automatically set throughout the building, the knop to adjust the temperature in the room doesn't work.

The breakfast meal was very good. I ate the breakfast meal at the restaurant every day.

If the rooms were just a little larger, it would be more comfortable.

Room was spacious, the hotel has this luxurious vibe but it is quite old already but the hotel still looks and feels really good. It's like an old well-established hotel that's been here for a long time and still running well.

Nothing to complain. We love the place.

The location was very good being a short distance from the railway station.

The breakfast was adequate but basic. the reception staff were distant though courteous. The establishment is in need of a complete refurbishment, its like stepping back into the 80s including the worn furniture and musty aroma's. Of site parking was a trial though close by.

Very nice buffet breakfast available. Convenient location - about five minutes walk from Niigata station. Lovely view from my room (eleventh floor). Neat and elegant interior. Nice laundry facilities and rest area in lobby (including complementary hot coffee).

The Room was very large and comfortable. It had a Fridge and Kettle. The Wi-Fi worked well.The Hotel was five minutes walk from the Train Station. It was 20 minutes to the Bandai Bridge.Would stay again.

Good location next to the station. PIllows are only Japanese style so it is like sleeping on the rock. They do not have any other pillows so if you are planning to stay for longer get yourself a pillow. Otherwise hotel was good.
