Large sized room, comfy and friendly staff, I stay here every time I’m in town

There are mold in the shower and mold near AC vent on the ceiling. Non-smoking room has cigarette smells.

Room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a good view.

Unable to adjust air-conditioning temperature.

The room is large and clean, the bed was comfortable. We asked for high floor and the view was good. Lots of drinking water provided. The price was reasonable.

The hotel is dated and the location is far from tourist attractions.

Huge room and great housekeeping every day. Very good location and very good value for money.

The staff at the reception withdrew 1600 rmb instead of the 1200 that my stay should have been. No explanation given, no communication. 0. When we confronted her (in Chinese since she didn’t speak any English but that isn’t a problem since my girlfriend is native Chinese) she said “ its deposit” again no explanation given. No deposit has been mentioned in any of the booking policy or anything like that. We still haven’t gotten it back. Otherwise the room floor was dirty but the housekeeper took care of it during the next days cleaning.

This was my second time there. Absolutely great facilities, friendly staff, nice and very convenient room, very good breakfast bouffe, good location, very reasonable price. Warmly recommended!

Staff was awesome very helpful, buffet breakfast was good and they have a nice buffet dinner. Rooms were large and clean.

We got an upgrade by booking.com. The room is spacious and with great view of the Tianjin eye. The room is very modern designed and have many special areas (dressing area, sink area, separated shower and toilet areas). The staff are very helpful and polite. The location is out of tourist area and it is quiet.

The room is really hot (above 25C) and can't open the window or lower it in any way. We have to open the room door to cool it down (even after turn off the heat). With such high temperature, the comforter is really thick. The sofa and curtain areas are not well cleaned. We moved the footer and found something under it, and it also caused my allergy of not well cleaned sofa or curtain.

The room's design is beautiful and the size of the room is big. Breakfast is great

Close to downtown but not in a congested area. Dining places were within walking distance and getting to the Tianjin West Railway Station was 15mins by car.

Would have been nice to have a small microwave in the room.

The room is spacious, clean and comfy. The morning breakfast has a lot of choices for everyone.

The furniture starts to show some worn and damage, sofa seats show marks and need a dry clean.

Lovely hotel, although the facade looks ordinary, the rooms are excellent. Breakfast was sumptuous & and provided an excellent wide range range. The housekeeping & reception were very helpful & courteous. Keep up the great service.

The hotel has a great location, the staff was very nice and I was a surprised they could speak English. The room was big and accommodating for our necessities.

Everything was good

This hotel was located in a close-by location to both Tianjin West Railway Station and Tianjin Station (Central). We had a train coming in to one station and leaving from the other station, so I deliberately wanted a hotel location in between both stations and this one achieved that need.The location was also close to other tourist attractions in the city, so again it was convenient for that as well.The facilities are good with a wide spacious lobby, an in-house restaurant which is also used for breakfast, in-house pool and other facilities.The staff were quite friendly and helpful as much as they could.

I booked for 3 people and my booking clearly stated it was for 3 people. However, when we arrived at the hotel, they said that the room could only sleep 2 people. The third person had to sleep on the couch. Luckily there was a couch for them to sleep on. This is unacceptable that I clearly booked a room for 3 people but the room provided can only sleep 2 people. They should not advertise this room as being able to take in 3 people if it cannot sleep 3 people. We made the most of it since it was only for 2 days, but if it was longer I would have asked to cancel and find another hotel. Booking.com should review this hotel and inspect it for misrepresentation of room capacity for the number of guests. We did not make a fuss only because the staff were friendly and helped as much as possible within their limits.

Very nice Staff and great acommodations. Good service, price and quality. Candy was of great help to arrange some transportations and made our stay much more comfortable.Thank you Candy and all staff of Holiday Inn Express Tianjin Downtown.

The whole experience was awesome. Two young men helped me check-in very quickly although I had arrived late in the night. Staff tried their best to speak in English with me and were very happy to help. I got a room upgrade and was incredibly surprised to how spacious, clean, and comfortable my room was. It made me wish I had a longer stay. Breakfast was a good mix of Western and Chinese food that I still had not seen in many hotels here in China. During checkout, Lina, Sophy and Zoe were very sweet in helping me do it quickly once more. Hoping to go back soon!

I wanted to have stayed for a longer time. The only thing I would say could have been better would be the breakfast as it could have included some scrambled eggs or omelette. Overall, breakfast was at a much higher level than many hotels in China.

Good choice for European traveler. Some hotels in China may be quite a surprise for a westerner. This reaches a solid standard, for a reasonable price. The breakfast bar had many choices. The staff is super nice and helpful. It was quiet in general, no noisy guests. And the pool is actually swimmable. I can recommend as a decent choice for decent money.

I can only suggest to do vacuuming and deep cleaning under the bed and furniture in general more often. There was some dust visible under when looking under the bed or sofa.Also, from time to time in my room there was a noticeable cigarette smoke. Not sure if someone had previously smoked in the room, or the smoke was getting into the HVAC from somewhere. Knowing this is a general issue in China, I didn’t even ask for another room. I am sure they would offer a different one, if I tried.
