Cons -
- A few lightbulbs were burnt out and the shower leaked, but this was minor and let them know and I’m sure that’ll be fixed.

Lovely place to stay - well-designed, good dining options, and really accommodating staff.
The place is lovely, with a rustic touch. The room was spacious and comfortable, had a great view from my big window. The staff very attentive, kind and helpful. very decent breakfast, spectacular dinners. I'll be back ...

Loved my stay here after hiking the Quilatoa Trail and staying in easier accommodations before. Hotel is on European standards. Shower was hot, restaurants nearby, breakfast was good and good value for money.
Paola is a wonderful host! She goes out of her way to help her guests. It was the third stay I had at Casa Sakiwa and it always feels like coming home after each climb in Cotopaxi National Park. Great breakfast too!
We used Casa Sakiwa as a base camp between climbing huts for almost 2 weeks. It turned out to be a little home away from home. The property is beautiful, and the location is perfect. Machachi was a great little town to spend our rest days grabbing a steak and an icecream in. The owner and staff of the hotel are so helpful, Pao helped us with a gazzilion things like transport, park access, laundry, ect.Over all it was such great value and has my full recommendation.
Paola was very nice, good deal in booking for a reaaally goood rooom!! Very comfortable and very good breakfast! They also organise trips to Cotopaxi. Restaurants close to the hotel
The hotel was amazing. The owner was incredibly nice and attentive, the rooms were clean and very nice and the bathroom had a Jacuzzi. Next to the hotel is a small park and on the night we were there a public Zumba class was held there. From our room we had a great view of the mountains.
The only things we didn't really liked had nothing to do with the hotel: the city of Machachi isn't the most attractive town and we had a hard time finding a good restaurant in vicinity.
Hotel Casa Sakiwa in Machachi exceeded our expectations! The stunning views, cozy rooms, and delicious breakfast made our stay unforgettable. Special thanks to Paola for arranging a beautiful cake and candles for my wife’s birthday—your thoughtful gesture made the day truly special!
Close to main street but nice and quiet location, friendly staff, lots of information about the various activities in the surrounding area, secure parking possibility for rental car.
the staff were great, great breakfast. Location was very convenient, good spot to stay if you’re visiting Cotopoxi
Everything! Staff is amazing, good breakfast and dinner and the hotel facilities are clean, big and well decorated
Loved everything about this place. The view was spectacular. Super clean. Very helpful staff.
Lovely property close to a park and some really good restaurants! And the food offered at the hotel itself was also amazing!
Nothing!
The hotel owners were so kind and accommodating. They went above and beyond when a member of our party had altitude sickness - offering her tea and space to lay down, even after our official check out time. Paola helped to coordinate a tour for us. Highly recommend staying here.
Staying at this hotel feels like being welcomed home by your family. Great value for money, spacious room with a beautiful view to Cotopaxi and excellent location, just around the corner from the main road with several restaurants nearby, are among its excellent features, but the breakfast stands out for the kindness and care of the lady who will set the buffet and prepare eggs a la carte for you and who will remind you of your grandmother almost inevitably. The hotel manager was just as kind and helpful. I wish we had stayed longer.
The remote control did not work in our room, but we did not even bothered to ask for a new remote because we were just enjoying the view to Cotopaxi and resting. Had we done so, I am sure that the manager would have solved the problem. We just did not want to bother her because she was so kind to us.
This hotel exceeded my expectations for the price. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful and friendly. We ate dinner on both nights and the food was very good. They gave us a cute change purse as a gift.
The location was okay. Street noise and the barking dogs at night were less than desirable.
Paola and her family have been great. Very friendly and helpfull with organizing tours. I am really happy that I've been at Casa Sakiwa. Muchos gracias!
It is a wonderful calm place, I loved the mountain view. There are some restaurants near and a nice park.
