    • The staff were very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the festive atmosphere. There was a DJ and dancing at night.
    • The security was super.

    Cons -

    • I had the bedroom with its own bathroom. It was a very rustic and basic room. There were holes in the mosquito netting on the bed. There were bugs. I had to sleep with the lights on.
    • we slept in tents, it was not provided with the iron and there were no freezer. our cloths were not ironed. The bathrooms are outside, which is not good especially morning and night time.
    • The music can be loud untill late at night or early morning hours. People who are looking for a party should stay at Shoestrings.

The on suite bedroom was neat, clean and very affordable compared to the other accommodation at Victoria Falls. The staff provided us with fresh towels and toiletries when required which we highly appreciated. The room has a mosquito net and a fan which adds to the comfort of the stay. The pool was very enjoyable throughout our visit.

The music can be loud untill late at night or early morning hours. People who are looking for a party should stay at Shoestrings.

Good location within walking distance of Falls and shops. Helpful staff giving me notice of loud weekend music and giving me a room in the back area.

No outside food or drink allowed, therefore no communal kitchen or kettle available. Constant loud music around pool area. The private room had no AC so needed to use a very very noisy fan and leave the windows open. It wasn’t the type of hostel I wanted so moved after one night. I could hear the Friday night music from blocks away.

The location is almost perfect. The vibe is very good and you can feel relaxed there.

The place is too noisy. It is not easy to have a good sleep with that much noise.

Central location. Proximity with all activities and city centre.Nice staff at the reception desk. Check in was smooth and straight forward.

Aunavailability of food at the onsite restaurant.Door of the room is very old and needs a good maintenance. We didn't get hot water on our 1st night. Had to wait more than 30 minutes to be able to shower after a long day trip...

Great location, very friendly and helpful staff (especially Ann!).

Location is walkable from the centre.

Two staff gave me wrong info that there were no libraries in the town. There is one which I visited after speaking with locals in the town centre itself. There are books and newspapers to read. Monthly fee is 5 dollars. Room need more cleaning as ants are running around.

I stayed in a tent which was lovely for the fact that I was still camping. The tent was comfortable enough, and had good lighting from the lamp. The staff was amazing, I loved those ladies, and we even hugged goodbye.

The wifi didn't really reach my tent, so it didn't work most of the time, which was stressful as I did need to work from their office instead of my quarters. It's also a lively place, so if you aren't interested in that it makes it difficult to sleep on the weekends.

The overall setup of the facility is amazing. For a solo traveler you have everything you need. Place to socialize and interact with people from all around the world. Beginning with their willingness to help with any info to the amazing staff everything was perfect from start to finish. For someone that is not looking for luxurious accommodations Shoestrings provided me with everything needed for a memorable stay. I paid a little bit more for my own room and bathroom and for my standards it was just enough. People need to realize that backpacker hostels are not villas and those who are looking for something luxury should look in another direction. But for me and 50+ people that i interacted Shoestrings was a bingo on the lottery ticket. I even met the owner and his wife who were so kind to sit and chat with me asking if everything is okay with my stay and what can they do to improve the services. Shoestrings, thank you,if i ever come to VFA again you will definitely see me again!

Good location, very resourceful, spacious and comprehensive in services. Shoutout to Angie who did an amazing job helping rearrange my pickup/stay/activities on very when my flights got canceled, Innocent answered all my questions and helped accommodate my drop off to my needs, and Ann had been supportive and delightful all the time. I picked the tent to stay which is spacious and good quality for myself and had even sockets with USB options.

The tent is cute but zero sound proof. People talk and every night there will be earthquaking music playing at the bar area. And a better solution is needed for party areas, as not everyone plans to party all night on Fri and Sat.

social hostel with great parties on Friday and Saturdays. nice pool area for chilling out.

no communal kitchen or fridge. social hostel but no communal kitchen/ fridge

I wanted to stay at Victoria Falls for a longer period of time and so I couldn't afford the price of the hotels. I decided to book a tent from Shoestrings and it totally worth it! The tent was clean, the location was great, and the staff helped me with all my questions.

The Wi-Fi was not good at all. I used my own cellular data all the time. Shoestrings was mostly known for the club in the town. So you should be aware that the place is noisy when you want to sleep. It was okay by me anyway.

    8DanaPosted on: 7-13-2025

Basically you get what you pay for. Relatively simple facilities, rooms not really new or in great condition, but pretty decent price, and relatively close to everything you need. Walk to shopping/restaurants 5-10 minutes, and walk to the falls maybe only 20-25 minutes.

It can be noisy at certain times of the day(night), but you are warned of this in advance, and it does end at a reasonable hour.

The location was super convenient to the Main Street in Victoria Falls! The property had a super fun atmosphere, we enjoyed sitting outside after enjoying activities around town. The staff was all very friendly and helpful!

Great Place for anyone who visits Victoria falls. Staff were really great and friendly. Food was good, and the place was clean and comfortable. Great location close to town and also can walk to the water falls in 10 minutes or so. Many restaurants in town close by.

WIFI signal to the room was weak
