Very near to the city market and kicc and they provide for city view room very nice for fresh air
They dont have table fan
Quite spacious
It is an apartment and not hotel as displayed on booking.com. Also there is fans available in rooms. They provide tall standing fans only if asked
Excellent location ; Walking distance from the mall and churches; The apartment was very clean and large ;
location is fine, near to the city center, staff were friendly and cooperative, cleanliness.
breakfast was not as expected, served local breakfast in the room due to less customers on that day,
The location of the hotel is in proximity to so many things.
Facility is a little bit dated. No air conditioning and the doors lock only when blessed by a priest.
Decent size room with everything I needed (except air con but I knew that when booking). Good location in the CBD, staff friendly and helpful. I was on the 14th floor and it wasn’t noisy. I was allowed to check in a couple of hours early which was much appreciated.
It didn’t really bother me, but it looks like the last serious refurb was probably around 50 years ago. Also I wasn’t told that I needed to switch the water heater on to get hot water, although I figured that out for myself.
I recommend Chester Hotel and Suites wholeheartedly. I am impressed by the cleanliness of the apartment. The security and reception people are very nice and helpful. The hotel location is great, the apartment is comfortable and everything worked. Nice balcony with a view, the possibility of visiting guests after verification is great. I will gladly choose this place in the future. Wifi works super!
The pool was in the shade which was uncomfortable because it was cold and I couldn't sunbathe but it was a minor problem. I missed a kettle in the kitchen, but there were pots, so I made water for tea.
I noticed the hotel is now upgrading the rooms, which is necessary. The location as always is perfect and the city views from the balcony are second to non. The room was also very clean and well presented.
I hope one day the lift is upgraded, but it works!
The location
No fan, though the weather was cold, but the room was stuffy because the air circulation wasn’t good
I stayed at the Chester Hotel for 2 nights in March, 2025.While a bit dated, the rooms are very spacious and the location is excellent. The pool is a nice option. There is no on-site restaurant however they serve breakfast (but at a cost that is not good value for the money).
I have stayed at the Chester several times now and there is one negative factor that keeps repeating itself and that is towels and linens. When your room is cleaned, they take away the used towels and lines but don't immediately replace them.....they are returned later in the day which means that you are without towels for several hours. And getting a towel at the pool is a hassle because they don't have them readily available rather you have to order it and wait 10-15 minutes for it to be delivered. This aspect really needs to be improved.
staff friendliness.
the standard of Chester is going down. cockroaches everywhere, no soap, broken lamps, aged/overused kitchen utensils.
All good.
As mentioned on previous assessment ... the noise disturbance each Wednesday and Saturday night until 3 a.m. from a regular street party right outside Chester Hotel is intolerable for guests. It's the kind of event appropriate for a big park on a weekend daytime, not right outside a hotel in the middle of the night. You run a very good hotel in all ways but I cannot stay there again if the street party is still being allowed.
Excellent, apart from above comment.
Chester House is an excellent place for visitors to stay ... BUT, the street party on Koinange St every Wednesday and Saturday in the middle of the night is intolerable. I know it's not the fault of Chester House but you must do something to get this stopped. It is something appropriate for a big public park on a Saturday afternoon, not the middle of the night outside a hotel. Much as I like Chester House, I will not stay there again if there is a chance that this event is still being allowed.
Great location. Very spacious rooms. Very friendly staff.
Nothing really. But considering the size of the rooms (almost small apartments), it would have been nice to find a family room with enough beds to accommodate a couple and two children.
Almost everything
Juice was so dilute, taps in the shower room not working well and mounds in the bathroom. The door was difficult to open.It needs to be repaired.
The hotel is in a great location and the room we stayed in was very spacious and very good value.
The lock on our sliding door to the balcony wasn't working and so they came to fix it which was ok. But the next day it failed again and so we had to sleep over night with an unlocked window that could have been accessed by any bad person in the hotel. This was my 3rd time staying at the hotel and they seem to have a chronic shortage of towels which is a problem.
very safe place with security, amazing location, helpful staff, they provide a fan, spacious apartments.
poor light in all rooms, the kitchen is dirty and the appliances stinks and requires urgent renovation, shower was leaking and in spite of multi reports, nothing was done, room phone was not working, also reported but ignored. management need to move around and take it seriously.
