    • The valet and arrival process and the bellmen were very attentive and helpful.
    • Hotel retains all its historic character yet incorporates successful modernization. Staff provide traditional Kenyan welcome and service.

    Cons -

    • Needs bathroom upgrades for a 5-star hotel.
    • I was WAY over charged for drinks in the restaurant. When I questioned the waiter, he replied that he gave me doubles which I didn¿t ask for and nor did he tell me he was giving me. Plus he also charged me for mixer.

Wonderful staff. They truly are the best staff in Kenya!Excellent history. So much to learn from the photos on the walls and artifacts and staff.Delicious food. The breakfast was good but the dinner was excellent and also the Tai restaurant was good. Very clean room and facilities. No hidden dirt in our rooms, clean carpets. They take pride in making it clean.

The room card reader kept malfunctioning.Beds not very soft, but none of them in Kenya really are.

Superb and varied breakfastThe room was plenty large, kept immaculate, quiet and peaceful.

There was not even one thing that I didn’t like

    10JosePosted on: 1-19-2026

The facilities are great, from the business center to the gym, but the best part is the staff, always helpful and always happy. It will definitely be my first choice coming back to Nairobi

central location, lots of history, comfortable matrasses

Lacking service orientation for a 5-star hotel - missing info on room service options, advertising late check-out without mentioning ridiculous charges, restaurants are overrated, ugly spots in the bathroom were just painted over; lots of maintenance and noise but never an excuse

    10LuuleyPosted on: 12-28-2025

The staff and securities were top-notch. The chef, Duncan Ndegwa, is so talented that his food will make you think about SARVOA.

    I liked everything.

The staff was very attentive and always willing to help us, from the moment of check-in until check-out. The food was amazing, and the ambience was just gorgeous, as if we were travelling through time.

The room is a little bit outdated. The shower is not very comfortable. Also, it was hard to find plugs that work in convenient places for charging the phones.

Central location in Nairobi CBD. Friendly, familiar staff. Excellent breakfast. Fitness center.

We have worked in Narok, Kenya for years and always fly into Nairobi for a couple of days before we drive to Narok, and have always stayed at the Sarova Stanley. It’s an elegant throwback into a timeless atmosphere of sophistication and old world charm, where everyone is incredibly friendly and eager to serve. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The workout facility and pool are great and there are plenty of places to sit, relax and have a snack or drink. And the food at the Thorntree Restaurant not only displays the rich history of the hotel and Nairobi, but has an excellent selection of tasty dishes.

Not much. I hope they maintain their charm

Great hotel. Super stuff. Very good restaurants. Location is the Centre of the city hassle which I personally like

Advertised as “airport shuttle” and only at checkout we were told that the “shuttle” cost 40 dollars. We were even presented with our signature at check in to prove that… (who looks at what he is asked to sign when checking in?…). From a hotel in this caliber I would expect a bit more transparency

I love this place. My stay in July and 99% of my stay in September were perfect.

As I was getting in my Uber to leave, one, two, and eventually five different staff chased me down to say I hadn’t paid for breakfast. Knowing that I had, each time I said please check your records; I have paid, and I need to go to the airport. Eventually I had to ask my Uber driver to go around the block and pick me up 40 feet away from the hotel (where the last employees still followed me but couldn’t do anything). An hour later at the airport I checked and found the breakfast charges on my credit card—twice. So: they made errors; they harassed me based on their errors; and then they compounded the error with an attempted theft.

Very good old fashioned service. Very friendly staff. Room excellent.

Location - we wanted to walk around downtown, but were advised by the staff to restrict our walking for security reasons.

Staff personnel were "ALL" very attentive, courtesy driven, never afraid to use the words "sorry" "Thank you" "Good night", "good morning" "Enjoy your day". They were all 100% courteous in every aspect. Food in the restaurant was delicious!!! Always kept the table clean.

Beautiful, historic, great food and drink, pool

A couple of staff were not the friendliest, most were though. Location meant that going out at night was a no

Chef made the most delicious steamed vegetables, to order and not on the menu. She fresh! 1st deluxe room, the one from Booking.com, was like a suite. I had to change to a double with a group next day. Nice but small. The hotel has a classic feel and the manager and restaurant manager were so kind. Prices decent, too.

Service in the bar / restaurant was extremely slow.
