I am writing to formally report a highly concerning incident involving a front desk staff member during our recent stay at Safari Park Hotel. The incident occurred in the early morning of December 26, 2025, during our checkout process as we were departing the hotel to catch a scheduled flight to Mombasa. At checkout, we were informed that we owed charges for meals that we did not consume. When we immediately disputed the charge and requested supporting documentation—such as a signed receipt, room charge slip, or system-generated proof—the front desk staff member was unable to produce any evidence to substantiate the claim. When we requested to speak with a manager, the situation became even more troubling. The staff member repeatedly stalled, claiming he was calling the hotel manager, despite the fact that a night manager was physically present in a room directly behind the front desk. Only after prolonged insistence did the night manager eventually come out to engage with us.I have since obtained the night manager’s business card, which is attached to this email for reference.By the time the manager appeared, it was evident that the staff member was fully aware that we were under significant time pressure due to our imminent flight. Unfortunately, it felt as though this urgency was being leveraged to create stress and pressure, seemingly in the hope that we would concede and pay a disputed charge simply to avoid missing our flight. This experience was deeply unsettling and left us with the strong impression that we were being taken advantage of. Whether intentional or not, the inability to provide evidence, the stalling tactics, and the delay in engaging an on-site manager fall well below the standards expected of a hotel with Safari Park Hotel’s reputation.

Very friendly staff, good restaurants

Paying extra for the gym

located inside an own large gardens; peaceful and safe. away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but also a bit on the outskirts if you have meetings mainly inside the CBD.

the restaurants in general are quite expensive and the lunch buffet is strongly overpriced.

The staff comes to mind first they were attentive and courageous

I was there for 4 nights and enjoyed my Stay couldn’t say that I found a problem with the property

The hotel is huge with beautiful grounds and big restaurants. Breakfast at Café Kigwa was good, and the African restaurant was the best part - unlimited meat, lively music, and fantastic performances. The Safari Cat dancers and acrobatics were full of energy and really fun to watch. The gym is large and well-equipped, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

My room didn’t have AC, and I felt the price was a bit high for what you get. Some of the restaurants felt empty, which was a pity for such a grand hotel. The pool wasn’t very clean, and the hotel itself feels a bit old - might appeal more to those who enjoy a traditional style.

The room size is large

Dirty fish water with flies & mosquitoes.

It's a nice area with many things to do

The bedroom was freezing; there was no heater. They don’t clearly inform that during the booking, but they charge to use the gym. I never experience this beforeThe restaurant prices and very high. A cafe American can cost more than 5 euros. Very far from downtown

The shape of the pool and multi level restaurants

Could have more places to sit in the reception area

8HuntPosted on: 5-28-2025

The room, food and how were amazing.

The swimming pools were very dirty. What a beautiful place to let the pools be so dirty.

Nice friendly hotel with friendly staff

Unfortunately, for certain things, the hotel charges 5 star prices for what is a 3 star hotel eg over £7.15 to bring a jug of milk to the room is extortionate. Service is slow in the restaurant

8MinhalPosted on: 3-9-2025

It's huge and green, the resort is massive. The service is good and people are genuine.

It's kind of worn down and tired at certain places. The hotel needs a revamp. The inhouse restaurants are good but they need an upgrade.

9PhilippaPosted on: 2-10-2025

The breakfast was good and had enough variety.

Directions to restaurants were not clear and as it’s a huge place with winding pathways, it was a little confusing .

8KersiPosted on: 1-24-2025

Serene environment very well connected with nature, courteous staff, cleanliness and the dance show. The Christmas party was great.

Some minimal plumbing issues in the bathroom, leaking water from beath the water closet.

The breakfast

We decided to go back to Safari Park for our 10 yr wedding anniversary having gotten married there 10 yrs prior. Booked a suite and the water from the sink and bath tub was soiled! Mud was flowing out. A plumber was sent to check but couldn’t fix it. On inquiry, I was initially told all rooms share the same water tank & line. This changed later and I insisted on another suite. I was given a smaller room than the one I booked and no change in price! This whole process took long and we were late for our dinner reservation and other engagements outside SP. It was obviously an experience we least expected.

The serenity and natural environment of the facility is outstanding. Its design, the rooms, the food, the staff are all excellent and cordial. The dancers during the dinner time was great. I loved the nature experience

I would appreciate late checkouts because most flights to Europe and the US are late at night. Also the breakfast could be extended to 11am as jet lag is a real thing.

Variety, but it was a scaled down version of of my past experiences with the place.
