Pros +
- Attractive rooms, nice landscaping, great swimming pool. Marianne, the receptionist, was pleasant.
- Good location
- Very intimate. Very friendly staff. Has a very good masseuse.
Cons -
- There must be a management problem as the staff all around seemed glum and dour. The boxed house wine was very expensive for the quality. Could have purchased two bottles for the cost of two glasses. Breakfast was also quite expensive for what we received. I asked for over medium eggs and received two overcooked bricks. When I asked for fresh ones to be cooked properly, again they were hard, and they charged me extra. I had them reduce the bill and take off the coffee charge, which should have been included in the meal cost. No mosquito net was provided but thankfully we travel with one. The place is getting a bit rundown and so are the staff.
- Price/value of room does not go together, no hot shower water
- Food was fair. The resort was quite hidden from the crowds main street.

Location is on outskirts of Nairobi. Rough dirt road to reach. Overview of site on Booking.com not a true reflection of actual accomodation. Waited 2 hours for breakfast to be served. Ordered dinner at 15:00 for 18:00 sitting and still had to wait.
Friendly staff, spacious rooms, very large and tasty breakfast
The room was really nice and comfortable with a nice shower. A cozy garden as well. The hotel was really quiet and seems like we were the only guests - only a few guests for eating during lunch time. So if you want a quiet place to stay this is the one. There is not much to do in this area except the Karen Blixen Museum (approx 30 minutes walk) or visiting one of the malls (35minutes to 1 hour walk).
The pool was really dirty and we didn’t find it nice to use. We ate several times at the restaurant and it was limited what they could offer from the menu card, however the food we had was nice.
The price was very reasonable for the location. Appreciated the upgrade for two beds for my daughter and I from 1 double. Breakfast was lovely…
Cosy and nice room and the staff were very responsive if something is not there.
Swimming pool not that clean, phone in the room not working but we will call them using our mobile phones.
The location is perfect to visit Nairobi's national park. It was close to where we wanted to go. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The surrounding of the hotel is beautiful.
The room is spacious and nice, but the bathroom is very old and in bad condition.
Great attentive staff and rooms are great. Very comfortable and location is great to explore nearby activities. Lovely place to retreat after touring around the city and game drives.
Breakfast took a bit longer than expected due to some confusion on orders but food is delicious! :)
Good location in Karen, a short car ride to most areas of interest. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms comfortable and the food was good.
The infrastructure is a bit old and run down. In particular the showers are difficult to work resulting in frequent lukewarm or cold showers and flooded bathroom floors.
Nice and quiet location with clean beddings
Shower splashes water within the bathroom and makes it slippery
Great location. Staff is super friendly and available to help at any point. Comfortable beds and nice big rooms.
We had to wait a lot for our food during dinner on our first night and some items are not available form their breakfast menu on several occasions. Bit their food is absolutely delicious
The staff were great and the rooms were a good size. The pool area was nice and the cleaning staff were very good. The security staff were welcoming and friendly.
There was often a wait for food or drinks - there needs to be improvements on the catering side.
The location is good, the hotel is clean, the breakfast and the spa were excellent. Great customer relations and the services are affordable.
Time management when providing services.
The breakfast was sumptuous indicating appropriate professionalism in the kitchen. The location is strategic and easy to navigate.
I liked everything. Good food, friendly staff, tranquil environment, easy accessibility,
Food was really nice, Friendly staff and the location is very convenient.
This place has a wonderful staff and the place definitely feels like you’re staying in an old massive house of bygone British colonial days.
Um… I kinda wonder if there’s been any updates since Karen Blixen was alive and living in Kenya ?
The staff were friendly and welcoming
The bed was a bit too firm. The shower had weak water flow and took time to heat up. The bathroom basin did not have hot water.
It was in a quiet areaBeddings were clean and comfortable Breakfast as requested
Appliances didn't workRooms not like the picture at all, very smallNo iron boxShower Water was lukewarmHad to keep requesting water to be pumped to flush the toilet and use the sink.
