    Pros +

    • The general ambiance, the polite and friendly staff and the perfect room
    • From arrival to departure, we were well looked after by very attentive staff. The location is convenient, just across the street from a shopping mall. Breakfast was excellent, with a great variety and a good selection of pastries, all freshly made and carefully displayed, making the best use of a relatively small space. We had a room with executive lounge access, which was worth it because food on order and drink selection during the happy hours are great value and quality. The hotel has 24hr (1!) room service with food of dining-in quality. Graze Steakhouse located within the hotel premises is a must to dine in. They use all locally sourced ingredients – meats from Laikipia county of Kenya – with side dishes and desserts to die for.
    • In general I like the hotel, when I worked in Kenya I used to stay here, and I had fond memories. But my taste must have changed. The room we stayed at in seemed dark and old. Not really a luxury experience.

    Cons -

    • wifi connection instruction was not very clear at arrival, even though I managed to figure out on our own
    • The design of our room was not up to the level we were expecting. The roof top was also not as inviting as I remembered it.
    • Arriving at 3 a.m. they declared that i had no room despite of my booking two months earlier of the arrival and their several confirmations. They transferred me to anotger hotel where i still had to pay from my pocket. As i realized patwd they ecen didn't charfe my CC knowing in advance that i'd be thrown away. Was not so pleasant experience...

Westlands location. Rooftop pool and bar.

    9AdelinaPosted on: 1-31-2025

The staff were amazing, food was wonderful in all of the restaurants and the rooms were spacious and clean. The rooftop bar/restaurant with pool was a great little place to hang out on your own.

The music volume of rooftop bar at the weekend was far too loud and didn’t stop until 4am.

The blinds in the rooms that face the road don't properly shut. As a result, I was woken up by the early morning sun

I recently stayed at the Sankara Nairobi Autograph Collection hotel from June 17th to June 21st, 2024, and unfortunately, I had an extremely disappointing experience. During my stay, a significant amount of money ($2,200+) was stolen from my room’s safe. Despite reporting the theft immediately, the hotel’s response has been inadequate and unsatisfactory.Upon discovering the theft, I promptly notified the hotel management and requested a thorough investigation. Regrettably, the investigation yielded no results, and I was informed that no evidence of wrongdoing by hotel staff was found. However, it is clear to me that the theft occurred on the hotel premises, during a time when I was absent from the room and trusted the hotel’s security measures.I find this lack of cooperation and transparency unacceptable, especially considering the reputation this hotel claims to uphold regarding guest safety and security.I chose Sankara Nairobi for its reputed safety in Nairobi, aiming to avoid any loss of property during my visit. Unfortunately, my experience has not only resulted in a substantial financial loss but also shattered my confidence in the hotel’s ability to ensure guest security. In light of this experience, I am compelled to caution other travelers considering this hotel. The lack of accountability and resolution in handling this incident demonstrates a serious lapse in management and security protocols.I hope the hotel takes immediate steps to improve its security measures and accountability to prevent similar incidents in the future. Until then, I cannot recommend Sankara Nairobi Autograph Collection to fellow travelers seeking a safe and reliable accommodation option in Nairobi.

Stealing money left in safe boxes. Also someone was rummaging through my suitcase. I didn't expect this from Marriott

The first thing I noticed was how kind the security staff are and how beautiful the hotel is.Checking in, the staff at Sankara were wonderful. The cleanliness and beauty of the hotel are impressive and overall it was a wonderful stay. Our rental vehicle had trouble with the battery and the security staff were extremely kind and helpful getting us back on the road.

I wish I had more time to stay at Sankara. It was a very positive stay.

    Overpriced and overtated

The price and that they sold me seven hours at the rate of 75% because we arrived early. it was very tired after long flight so I didn’t hear it correctly for me. It’s a rip off.

I had A la Carte. Quite good. Too bad there was no smoked salmon on both occasions.

Super cosy ambiance, simply the best in Nbo, locationwise it is top. Front office team is very helpful and prossional. Next to Sarit shopping mall and other restaurants-markets.

    Poor

I was to have brunch Xmas day after checking in they told me it was fully booked, the reception told me there was nothing available, in other words you can join the normal lunch, I spoke to manager and she stuck us out on the balcony where we ended up frying in the sun, she never come to check on us, as later on more tables came available, poor management.

All round great. Not exceptional for the price but cant really complain. Staff are excellent. Beds are fantastic. Only thing is accomodation rate is expensive compared to newer properties offering same ammenities. Food is also good, again not brilliant for what you charged.

Breakfast was very comprehensive and enjoyable. The room was very pleasant. The rooftop bar was excellent with some amazing live music that was brilliant. The food was delicious with an extensive menu.

Check in was really quite slow and the reception area has several people, some really quite very upset, complaining that they didn't have a room / the right room so perhaps you overbooked the Hotel?
