An indoor swimming pool, landscaped water fountains and a hot tub can be enjoyed on the shores of Titicaca Lake. Guests can book a massage and enjoy the meditation area. Rooms have direct lake views. Taypikala Hotel Lago features recently refurbished Colonial style galleries and a spacious lobby with interior plants, polished parquet floors and elegant cream-colored sofas. The rooms in Taypikala Hotel Lago feature wood furnishings and antiallergic carpeted floors. Some rooms are styled with pastel shades and feature spa baths. A full buffet breakfast with tropical fruits can be enjoyed at Jardines del Lago Restaurant with views of the garden and lake. Guests can treat themselves to local flavors. Car rental is also available. The temple of Fertility is located only 200 metrse from the hotel. Taypikala is just a 20-minutes drive from Puno’s city center and 6.2 mi from the archaeological ruins. Excursions can be arranged through the tour desk.

- Had a really nice stay here. The staff were great. Not very busy when we were here. Good value. Great location.
- A hotel that harks back to yesteryear. Was probably thriving in its day.The hotel was a long way from Puno centre but in a location magically overlooking Lake Titicaca. The staff were very pleasant. The room was clean, very comfortable bed, great views of the lake over rooftop gardens.
Cons -
- The gravel driveway could be improved, and the hotel was a little cool. But in the rooms it was great.
- The bathroom could do with some TLC. Grout over bathtub was grimy. The taps wonky in the wall, and no hot water the second night. For a large hotel only skeleton staff, and not many guests. Was the only person in the bar and at breakfast the next day. Kettle in room but had to buy water to make the tea on second night. Best off getting a free tea in the lobby. Taxi to Puno takes 25 minutes.
