Pros +
- Location was better than expected. Near the shopping arcade and near a nice little boutique-type street. Staff was very friendly, and all amenities were provided in the bath.
- The location is great: close to the park, museums, and the shopping district. The staff was very helpful and they had a nice traditional Japanese breakfast.
- The quality-to-price ratio is among the best of capsule hotels I have been too. Also, the interior design is quite warm and still feels like an actual hotel despite the capsules, and the overall layout of the 2nd floor (which was the capsule floor) was convenience for accessing toilets, lockers, and other facilities easily from your capsule. Lastly, the location was "close" to many of the key sightseeing spots "near" Yamaguchi Station (quotation marks used because they are walkable, but only if you like walking between 10-20 minutes to move between different spots). But if you plan on walking everywhere, it is the best location you can get.
Cons -
- The bed was a bit hard but OK, and the pillows could be improved. The Japanese style pillows are not ideal for Westerners.
- The capsules were a little bit short for me, but I am also 1.95 m tall, so I do not think this issue will apply to most people. Also, having only one power outlet in the capsule is somewhat inconvenient, but that is standard for capsule rooms. (Also, the point I made above about walking distance could be a negative for some people.)
- No complaints.

Good price and location, very spacious capsule hotel
The room is very large and clean with all facilities. The cup noodles are available at the front desk with reasonable price.
Very convenient location for visiting Yamaguchi. I slept well in the capsule.
No complaints.
I think this is one of few hotels in Yamaguchi proper, it towers above other buildings in town. Doesn’t look very enticing at first, has kind of a retro vibe, but it is actually very comfortable. The room is really big for Japanese standards and has all the necessary amenities (fridge, kettle, tv set etc.). Breakfast was included in my rate, and it was Japanese and yummy - the same every day (which I didn’t mind). The staff is very helpful, despite limited English. You can borrow bicycles from the hotel for free. The location is great to explore on foot everything that is of interest in town and in the nearby Yuda Onsen. A 10-minute walk from the train station.
I enjoyed myself and didn’t encounter any problematic situations/issues.
Ideal location. Close to grocery store, train station and many bus stations.Capsule or single room. Spacious locker and clean facilities. Microwave and fridge so you can buy some bento and eat there.Staff was helpful when you need them Good home base for day trips to other cities, Hagi, Hofu, Akiyoshido etc…
The location, close to the Memorial Church of St Francis Xavier. Extremely good value for money.
This feels like a 1980's hotel but it is really well cared for and immaculate. It was a bit like a time warp.
Really nice capsule hotel, with separated areas to ensure that everyone can rest and have some privacy. I was carrying a big backpack when I arrived, so the staff gave me two lockers without even needing to ask, and without extra charge, which was really nice.
For a hotel by a main road it was surprisingly quiet. Staff were polite and friendly. The bed was quite comfortable and the room had decent amenities. Very clean.
A complimentary bottle of water would be welcome, but there were plenty of vending machines on-site.
I stayed in the capsule room.I was surprised to so he spacious everything is.It was clean, and in a great location for taking the bus to Hagi. And it is cheap!
It was a bit hot (air conditioning), and the toilets are a bit further away from the capsules area (compared to the showers.
Clean and comfortable rooms and beds, multiple sets of shower rooms and sinks. The rooms are also well insulated and sound proofed. Overall a very enjoyable stay, definitely one of the most enjoyable capsule type room I’ve stayed. Property is also located close to the train station and many restaurants and convenience stores are also within walking distance.
I stayed in a capsule type. It was really reasonable and clean.
There is no bathhouse in the hotel.
Very underappreciated!
Hot room! But staff turned heat down on request
Lovely staff! Everyone was so nice.Good facilities and really clean. There were also some bikers who arrived on my last night, they had the most amaaaaazing bikes ?
It was all really fine.
Capsule room very clean and a lot of amenities. Staff very nice .location good .
Facilities are typical of a capsule hotel, but a very nice one. Since it's part of a full hotel there's plenty of staff and amenities if you need anything.
Decor is a strange mix of very modern and very dated, if that matters to you.
I just love the smell of this hotel. Everywhere smells nice.
I truly enjoyed my stay at Kokusai Hotel Yamaguchi. The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed for a pleasant stay.
