Pros +
- I did not eat breakfast in the hotel. I came for a wedding there and the food was very good at the wedding. I stayed in the hotel for 2 weeks.
- Hotel has an old and rustic English feel to it. Room was simple but nice.
- The style of the hotel is so nice and unique, nice location, easy to walk to Glover gardens, Chinatown and Dejima - staff was nice. Quiet, nice for a walk - window and nice view.
Cons -
- There were no comfortable chairs in the room or the lobby. The rooms were smaller than expected or as online. I would stay here again.
- It's a hotel that uses an underground parking lot, so it might be a little troublesome to get in and out if you have a car. The staff is extremely helpful about this though.
- The room was a bit dated and small, but I expected that. The parking elevator was horrendous. Yes, the staff was friendly and tried to help, but it was stressful experience. The parking was also expensive, compared to other city hotels. I used another parking elevator in another city and it was super easy. There is a big open parking lot, less than a block from the hotel. I wish I would have known that.

The breakfast buffet was the best breakfast I had in my 3 weeks in Japan. The hotel location was great. Most sights in town were within walking distance. There were restaurants nearby as well.

The hotel is amazing! The service and level of care was above and beyond. I arrived early and they held my luggage and I had an amazing lunch at a restaurant nearby. The hotel had beautiful European decorations and ambiance. My room was super comfortable, spacious and had amazing view of the garden! The hotel was close to all the attractions as well. Everything was within walking distance. I will definitely stay here again!
I loved everything!
Original art works and objects created a unique and cozy atmosphere that is very different to the usual international chain hotel brands interior. If there is a quibble the bathrooms were a little tight. But basically a wonderful hotel.

Unusual property with historical features. Close to public transport (bus, tram, streetcar). Staff very helpful & friendly.
The room was very large and super clean, nice decor, helpful staff, in a quiet neighborhood near Glover Park, walking distance to the elevators/ walking path to the Nabekanzan Observatory for night views.
Nothing, it was exceptional.
Truly everything was terrific. The staff super helpful, friendly and professional. The ambiance and decor were unique and full of character unlike modern chain hotels. The elevators were right out of the 1930's art deco style. The courtyard restaurant was like being in Sorrento, Italy. The breakfast options were ample, very well done and the variety catered to all tastes. We experienced restful nights without excessive noise from the street or hotel guests. We could easily walk to Chinatown, the wharf and other areas of interest and plenty of nearby shopping. We would stay here again.
I would like more than one pillow on my bed. I didn't ask for an extra and feel confident that if I did, the hotel would have gladly offered one. Other than that, there is nothing to complain about.
Great looking hotel in Portugese style with great old fitments (check out the lift floor numbering). Service was perfect - on the ball and professional. Room was good size and available breakfast was grand - good coffee.Location is great - near tourist things, water, tram etc. Nice little street one back from the main drag, so some interesting shops nearby. We didn't have a car, but parking seemed available underneath. It just felt right.
Nada.
The rooms are small but cozy (guess that’s a Japan thing). Very aptly situated from city attractions. Easily accessible. Good value for money.
The staff could’ve been a little more efficient. We forgot some stuff in the refrigerator of our room which we came back for later (since our bags were still at the hotel), but the staff wasn’t able to locate. Shouldn’t have been that difficult but nonetheless not a big deal.
Nice location on a neighborhood street with access to the tram just 3 minutes away. Staff was outstanding-nice, helpful, and pleasant. Room was huge! Breakfast was varied with a good selection. Overall, a great stay!
This is an older property but quaint and charming. I liked the character of the property.
Close to the public transport. Parking site close as well. Really nice area.
Incredible value for money. Was expecting a businesslike hotel but instead got impressed by the detailed decorations. Elegant and comfy. Also rooms are very well kept and spotless.
Nothing serious but one should keep in mind that there was a step before entering the room.
Great location near sights like Glover Garden and streetcars for getting around town. But also with a locals’ neighborhood feeling. Nearby coffee shop, tea shop, eateries.
Location is very good, workers friendly.
Mattress is kind of hard .
Great value, tiny Western style room with everything my wife and I needed for our two night stay. About a 10 minute walk to the tram or there are closer buses.
It's a beautiful hotel. Lots of restaurants and cafes around. Tram Stop very close. The rooms are a good size. Staff were incredible. Definitely a highlight. They are so helpful.
It's quite out of the way for most of the sights and sounds of Nagasaki, although it does really connect with a tram. The rooms are all tiled, no carpets. This is great for cleanliness but the room felt cold (not temperature, but atmosphere/feeling). Even just adding a rug to the room would feel more welcoming.
Pretty building and nice touches in the room. Easy walk from historic neighborhood. Very clean.
This is the only thing that was negative: We could hear everything on the floor above us: dropped beads, dropped pen, rolling sound. The floors have Spanish style tiles which are pretty but carry sound.
This location is strategically positioned close to major roads and a diverse selection of cafes, providing convenient access within a 10 to 15-minute walking distance. However, it is worth noting that the train station and main shopping areas require a longer walk.
I encountered several significant issues during my stay. First and foremost, I booked one room with breakfast, but the booking system did not register this correctly. Upon arrival, I was informed that we had two rooms but no breakfast included. To make matters worse, no refund was offered, and we were left without breakfast.Additionally, the bathroom was unacceptable due to the presence of mould. The television offered no streaming options, nor could I mirror my device. The double bed was misrepresented; it was too short, causing feet to hang off the end. To top it all off, the pillows felt like bean bags, and the mattress was as hard as a concrete slab. This experience was far from satisfactory.
