Sofitel Kunming

Stayed at the Club Room and the service at the club lounge was impeccable with very good food and drinks selection. I was even advised where to get the best sunset shots. The breakfast spread was huge and the view was excellent. Room was big and roomy and clean.

Nice location nice breakfast

Little English speaking staff Terrible dirty swimming pool

Design and room function and facilities. Staff service at the restaurant is very impressive.

In - room air conditioner is not cool as we expected

High rise view Food

Need more English speaking staff !!

Breakfast buffet was great. Huge amount of choices and great view from the 49th floor. The lounge on the 48th floor was really nice. With nice drinks and a delicious buffet. The staff throughout the hotel were lovely and very helpful.

I’m always a little nervous when a hotel has unsecured WiFi.

Swimming pool warm water and high floor room. Service was good too. Our first night room was little warm and next day hotel gave us change another better room. ???

At swimming pool there were too many kids learning swimming, which feels like we are in swimming club for learn swimming. Those kids may not be hotel’s guest kids. That’s only I have things to say. Rest are all good.

Wonderful large building with air of grandeur

The AC does not work!!!! My room was at 75 degrees the whole night!

Excellent pool, steam room, breakfast, staff

From the moment I stepped into Sofitel Kunming, I was enveloped by an impeccable sense of service and genuine hospitality. The staff’s politeness truly stood out, always eager to assist and ensure a delightful stay. My room was an oasis of comfort and cleanliness, showcasing the attention to detail that Sofitel is renowned for.The morning international buffet spread was a delightful culinary journey, offering an array of dishes to suit all palates. However, it was the evening international seafood and BBQ buffet that truly stole the show. With complimentary wine, a refined selection of caviar and foie gras, and an extensive spread of gourmet offerings, it was a dining experience to remember.Thank you, Sofitel Kunming, for an unforgettable stay; I’ll undoubtedly return.

Friendly and helpful staff, clean property

Facilities are a bit old; a couple of the outlets weren’t working properly

Very good breakfast, food fresh and large variety. Gym 24 hours, nice pool. Friendly staff.

Room was too hot, AC not adjustable. No way of opening window for fresh air.Moved to another room which had a window that could open.

Prompt service, friendly staff, sincere effort to make you comfortable. Special mention of Mr James Ding, Mr. Kevin Lee the manager friendly boss and extremely polite and humble. We planned to stay for only 3 nights but because of their hospitality and friendly gesture we extended our stay by 2 nights.. we have stayed in many hotels around the world but never found such a wide spread of breakfast with so many varieties to cater for Chinese and international taste. Even got my breakfast customized to my taste.

Just the lights in room are little dim and storage area of closet can be increased.

Our stay in Kunming Sofitel was exceptional, the hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, our room facilities are clean and nicely presented, the view from the room is really nice. Plus the club lounge and breakfast are also top quality standards. We specifically asked for fast WiFi connection and it worked out very well. We felt our stay here was impeccable and will definitely come back the next time we’re in Kunming.

Fantastic service at the front desk, excellent breakfast, wonderful helpful staff, clean and very comfortable room! highly recommend

Great staff, amazing rooms, great views and locations and the breakfast is amazing.

Great service, especially from James (one of the concierges at the hotel) who was instrumental in making our stay a delight. We opted to splurge a bit, seeing that we weren't able to travel for over a year due to the pandemic, and the Club access is definitely worthwhile in our opinion. Good spread of snacks and light food during the Happy Hour (6-8pm) and plenty of choices for drinks. Breakfast was delicious and there was ample choice available. Room was pretty, spacious, and had a great shower.

Location is not very close to the must-see attractions of Kunming, but conveniently close to the railway station. Although I do not blame them for everything, some of the staff, especially during breakfast service, had a difficult time to understand English, resulting in some minor miscommunication. That said, this is to be expected in China and maybe a sign that I need to start working on my Mandarin.

Very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast with great view.

I enjoyed my stay here. The staff are very helpful, they solve our problems with high efficiency. I will come back again

nice room

A bit pricy for hotel transport

Location.

Customer services. hygenie is terrible. I don’t think I could come back again. Hotel management needs to be replaced. Managers should be able to talk to everyone and try to get more feedback which will improve hotel management and service.
