It was clean and well kept.

The breakfast is extremely expensive, no halaal options available.

Very cute that they had a cake delivered to our room because we were celebrating something with my husband.

Not being able to connect and watch Netflix, dstv streaming because their tvs are not connected to the internet.

The breakfast was fine. Issue was the swimming was locked. We couldn't swim in the pool

Swimming pool not to be closed. I booked because of the beach and swimming pool. And a towel disappeared and no one knew where it was. But since it got lost in my room, I gladly paid for it. But better control on things can be made, maybe sign for things in the room and when u leaving sign for them again.

The facilities was clean! Staff was friendly!! Easy access to the beach!!

Website indicates that dinner is up till 22h00 which is not a true reflection. We arrived late, just after 21H30 but unfortunately the dinning hall was already closed. However, the staff managed to get us something to eat after we had to ask them several times. We appreciate them helping us though, it was thoughtful of them as we were very hungry!!Another challenge was that I experienced some loud noise of people talking and laughing outside my room very early in the morning which was disturbing because I needed some rest. I don't know if these were visitors or staff members.

I did leave a note in the room about bad service.

I encounter something which was very much disturbing blood on the duvet cover. I had to call reception to intervene because we came late coming from the function all I wanted is to sleep unfortunately I had to wait for the cleaner to change the bedding wow I was damm frustrated.

Worst hotel experience ever — avoid at all costs!Where do I even begin? From the moment we arrived, it was downhill. Check-in was average at best, but the room we were given was a complete joke — tiny, cramped, and uncomfortable. You couldn’t even open the cupboard doors properly without smashing them into the bed. I’ve stayed in many hotels, and this was by far one of the worst.Protea Hotel advertises a mini golf course and a games room — what they don’t tell you is that you have to pay extra for every little thing, and it’s not cheap either. It’s blatant false advertising. Breakfast? Over R200 per person! I have two small kids who barely eat anything, yet I’m expected to fork out R200 each for them too? Absolutely ridiculous. We refused to eat at the hotel because the prices were a complete rip-off.The staff (except for one man at the bar) are rude, disinterested, and make you feel like you’re an inconvenience just for asking for basics like a towel. The woman working at the poolside kiosk — don’t even get me started — she clearly hates her job and has no interest in being polite, never mind helpful.The so-called mini golf course is a dangerous mess. Thorn bushes line the sides of the course, where balls constantly roll off. Children walk around barefoot — it’s just a matter of time before someone gets hurt, and sure enough, a child got a thorn stuck in his foot while we were playing. Completely unacceptable and dangerous!The facilities are badly run down and nowhere near what the Protea standard used to be. It’s sad, honestly. What used to be a trusted hotel brand has become a complete disaster.Our stay was horrific. I wouldn’t stay here again if you paid me. Save yourself the frustration, the money, and the bad memories — go anywhere else.

Excellent venue, friendly staff and great service.Great buffet for dinner and breakfast.

No refrigerator in the room.

Unfortunately we didn't have breakfast but the smell was great.

The room we booked was way too small for a family of 4.

The toilet did not flushMaintenance only came out the next day to sort it out. The main lights did not work. We had to make use of the lamp shade lights during our stay.

Exceptional service from the receptionist, to cleaning staff, to the general manager, to the dining room service.. The view from the hotel room, the decor, positioning. Access to the hotel, safety measures, access to the beach. Wooe

Room was neat and clean. Cleans towels provided. A bonus was the room also had a microwave. This is not found in many hotels. Breakfast was excellent. Good variety. Even catered to our "Hindu needs" as we don't eat beef or pork. Real value for money. Dinner was well prepared and very good. As a point of note - more options should be included in the al la carte menu.

Rooms need to be ready on time. Check-in time is 2pm At this time ALL rooms should be ready. Need more waiters especially during dinner time. Our drinks order took very long to come. We waited for about 25 min before order was received.

Beautiful Hotel...Friendly & Helpful Staff. Clean RoomsHas all facilities for a perfect holiday. Swimming Pool, Mini Golf, a Spa, kids playing room, Gym, Beach, Restaurant, Bar & Lounge.We enjoyed our Stay, will definitely be back.

The staff of the hotel and facility was good the kids enjoyed it.
