    Pros +

    • It was very clean and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful
    • Balcony view of the River Nile and boats. Live scenery of the streets. The moonlight settling towards the west. The request of two beds. Beds comfy. Quick response of the hotel booking manager.
    • Breakfast box provided at 2 AM. It was a light meal, but it was a good gesture from the hotel.

    Cons -

    • Room too small, hair on the bed linens. The confusion and mistakenly of the hotel staff thinking “my” Egyptian staff that was working with my European guests assist the travels from Luxor to Aswan staying at the Old Cataract, I had my staff staying at this hotel. While having breakfast, staff asking why are they sitting there having breakfast. Discrimination.
    • No elevator. No body helped me moving my bages during check out. I checked out early morning 2 AM but no body was available to move my luagages from 2nd floor to the taxi. I called the reception without answer.
    • The staff is not very responsive. I had to reach out many times and in multiple ways to get my airport pickup confirmation even with $25 charge.

The hotel clearly has seen better times and feels quite old in places, but it still retains some charm and character rather than feeling completely worn-out.The staff were very accommodating, allowing us to check in (very) early after our night train from Cairo and even preparing a breakfast takeaway box so we could catch the 8:30 am bus to Abu Simbel. We had a room overlooking the Nile with a small balcony, which was lovely. The room was clean and comfortable, though the furniture and décor are dated. The location is excellent for walking along the Nile and accessing local attractions.Overall, a good value stay with friendly staff, nice views, and a central location.

Breakfast was acceptable. Location was very good. Easy to get to other parts of Aswan.

No hot water. Very expensive tours offered by front desk.

Classic old luxury hotel, big room & bathroom,, marble floors, nice view looking across Nile (and cruiseships). Quiet few people here. Refrigerator & electric kettle. Power not connected to room.key.

one outlet broken, pretty wind chimes on lamp sing with AC, AC remote not great. NO restaurant- only breakfast (busy / skipped). Walked several blocks to recommended restaurant.

The location of the Philae Hotel was fantastic. It is near to restaurants, money exchange companies, the Aswan Souk market, glosery stores, the boulevard and transportations. My room was comfortable, I had a fridge, kettle, TV, air conditioning, etc. I had the opportunity to eat beadfast one time and really enjoyed the food. I loved the omelet with chocolate, bananas, coffee, egges, and fresh falafel. I always had the breakfast box avaible when I was needed to leave the hotel very early to attend some tours. Mohamed was very friendly and supported me by contacting transportation, restaurants, and also by recoveri three items that I left behind in one Luxor hotel. Thank you so much for all the support that you provided to me that made a big different in my stay in Aswan.

    Everything was great.

Old hotel with no elevators, very basic infrastructure. It's on Aswan corniche so has Nile view with cruise ships parked.Groceries & convenient stores are next door for travelers, serves well for over night stay - non families. We had requested for 'tiffin' breakfast which was kept ready.

we got something like an apartment , with hall and large sofa, kitchen area, some welcome cookies and snacks, 2 rooms very spacious and both have balkony overlooking the nile river with fellucas and cruise ships . we are able to view the breathtaking sunset from our own balkony . It was a unforgettable adventure for us. we reached the hotel at 11 am and the staff are very welcoming and able to check-in since room is available. the room was clean. Room404

breakfast was nice. it can be betterno lift

Hotel was spotlessly clean. Check-in and check-out were very smooth. The staff let us store our luggage in the lobby and then check-in early due to our early arrival.

No elevator to rooms. Breakfast was very disappointing. We had a room on the back of the hotel but it was still loud. Beds were very firm.

No internet,tv is not working, dirty pillows linen towels

    Nile river view

Close to the main road, very noisy

    10DanielPosted on: 2-7-2025

Overall staff kindness and willingness to help, the location is super great right in front of the old souk, pleasant minutes walk distance from the Nubian musem, many local restaursnts nearby as well as KFC/McDonalds for those who like, close to the ferry boat to Elefantine Island, etc.

    Unstable wifi connection

Location was good, and fridge in room was modern and air con worked well in the room. Take away breakfast nice, staff were lovely and very information and helpful.

No air con in communal space+corridors, place appears very tired and dated, no lift- TV not working and space in room poor for a family, shower door and toilet to close together, extremely uncomfortable to use. Overall average stay and over priced -breakfast started way to late, considering people go to tours and would like a hot meal am.

The hotel is very clean. Excellent location and services. Also it's very affordable price! Specially the front desk, Hassan Osman. He's so friendly, helpful and professional. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone who stays in Aswan.

Location is great.Room are good size and bed is comfortable.Breakfast is ok. Staff is friendly

Ac doesn't heat, an no other heating. It was cold. Street is loud since the windows don't seal enough. But the streets are a little bit calmer than in cairo, in the night.Bath doesn't have a plug. Only showering is possible.Wifi did not work

    2HarishPosted on: 12-30-2024

    Just the location

    1. No WiFi in the room, only available in the reception area2. In the bathroom while taking shower, there was no shower gel. It was fully empty. They didn’t care to replenish the same while cleaning the room. I had to stop my bath and wait for 45 minutes to get the shower gel. 3. Breakfast was poor with limited options. Restaurant where it was served was empty when we went there. Had to knock the staff room to let them know to serve us. Quality of food was poor and food variety was limited. Only few local breads and jams with uncooked egg as they provided in a plate.

Location and service. Manager incharge Ma Sandi’s Angad was excellent and very supportive in making all arrangements even days in advance before we arrived. Breakfast was also delicious served well on the table. We left early at 6.30, our breakfast boxes were ready with hot tea and coffee, good care.

Absence of lift in hotel and WiFi in room

    2JessicaPosted on: 12-27-2024

The blankets and towels were not clean. There was no shower gel, teas without their packaging (which is not hygienic), there was no iron, there was no dryer.
