VyDa Backpacker Hostel

The people working at the desk were not only friendly, but incredibly helpful and attentive. The room was quite large and had two sofas to sit in. The one wall had a full landscape painting of mountains and made the room feel a little more homie!

The location was great, and considering the state of the city, the property was very clean. They are in active renovation/addition and even during the working hours, the noise was not detectable one floor down. The 24-hour check-in is convenient and knowing someone is always manning the front desk is very helpful. There are several bathrooms on each floor ensuring there is one available virtually at all times. Each one has a shower and they are cleaned, along with all the floors of the hosOverall, I was very happy with this property. The electrical outlet for my bed wouldn't grip my plug and seemed to only make a lose connection. I mentioned my issue to the front desk, and they had it dealt with the next day. Again, a positive experience.

The room at times was a bit damp. There was a dehumidifier and when it was on, it made a large difference in temperature and humidity. It would be nice if they could install a permanent dehumidifier since this was about the only complaint I can really think of. The value of the property is great!

The location of the hostel is very good, It's very easy to get around Ho Chi Minh City from the hostel. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The beds all have curtains, which is very practical.

The room doesn't have a window, it was very humid. Unfortunately, I didn't have hot water in the shower, I don't know if this is always the case or just bad luck during my stay.

I love how clean it was and how clear the rules were.

There are just minor things that need cleaning like the bathroom walls and the nooks and crannies of the showerhead and bidet, and the area under the beds full of dust. But overall it is very clean.

Location is excellent, people are welcoming, everything is clean, good lockers, curtains for each bed, nightlight at every bed, conditioner was at perfect temperature

I liked everything, but for people who like to cook by themselves I didn’t see kitchen.

They put me in a better room then what I booked, there was free beer and food for nye so I guess I have to give them 11

I really enjoyed my stay at VyDa Backpackers Hostel. The breakfast included is very good and a great way to start the day. The staff are extremely nice, friendly, and always willing to help with anything you need.The hostel has comfortable common areas that are perfect for working or relaxing, and the rooftop is a highlight — a lovely garden with plants where you can chill and enjoy the atmosphere. They also organize activities and tours, which you can easily book at the reception.There’s a restaurant on the corner near the hostel where you can enjoy authentic Vietnamese vibes, with good food and drinks at a nice price. The location is excellent, right in District 1, close to many attractions.The dorms are very clean, quiet, and feel safe, which made my stay even more comfortable. Overall, a great hostel and highly recommended for travelers visiting Saigon.

The location is so perfect. You can walk to all the major attractions and there are plenty of food and drink options nearby, including a famous bun cha street stall just two blocks away. The reception staff were very helpful with everything. Even helped me print my Cambodian e-visa. The privacy afforded by the ber curtains is great. The big lockers were very useful too. Not a social hostel at all by the way--if you want to avoid talking to other travelers, this is the place. And most importantly, the accommodation in HCMC simply does not get cheaper than this. Edit: Forgot to mention that the beds are super wide, which was nice and rare to find in hostels.

Although I booked a 10-bed room with a window, I was put in an 8-bed room without a window. The bathrooms (at least the three on the 2nd floor) have no hot water, so be advised that you'll have to take cold showers. It's a nice gesture that they offer breakfast, but to be honest, it's a very meager one. In a place with great and affordable food like Vietnam, you'd be much better off eating out--just grab a banh mi from any street corner. I had the hostel breakfast only once on my first day.

Great hostel with friendly vibesVyda Backpackers is a great place to stay in Ho Chi Minh City. The staff are super friendly, helpful, and always smiling — they really make the atmosphere social and welcoming. I also love the free breakfast, it’s a nice bonus before heading out for the day.The rooms and beds are comfortable, easy to sleep in, and the hostel is kept clean. Overall, really good value.

One thing to note: the shower water is often cold. When the weather is warm it’s fine, but if the weather is cold, sometimes I can’t use it because the temperature is uncomfortable.Still, great location, great people, and I’d happily stay again if the water issue improves.

Perfect spot for your Ho Chi Minh trip. Really reasonable price, they clean everyday, free good breakfast, very convenient location to see the sites and amazing friendly staff. I wish there's more options for breakfast, but it was good.

This residence is close to book street, the Canadian Consulate, a few quiet parks, and highrise shopping malls.

Beds were nice and comfy and ample room in the dorms. Toilets were clean and maintained.

Best hostel I have stayed in easily. Very clean beds breakfast was so good honestly worth every penny this place. Staff are super friendly even printed off my evisa of Cambodia for me and gave me 2 copies didn’t even ask for a penny for it honestly great hostel.

The hostel is located in a very strategic place for a traveler. All places are at walking distance and the stay is quiet and peaceful. The staff at the desk especially Lin was super helpful, always had a smile and helped us not only with stay but also with other plans like chu chi tunnel tour at reasonable price and bus booking to phu quoc etc. The breakfast is good enough to survive till lunch - place is clean and hygenic. Showers worked fine and there was hot water available all the time. Perfect for visiting HochiMinh.

Nothing. Everything was perfect and as expected. One suggestion is if they have a place where they can take care of luggage after checkout it would be super helpful for travelers.

small rooms, type of people that go there are very disgusting. They don’t even clean the bathroom after they finish, which make it very hard to the cleaners Small breakfast only two eggs and some yogurts

Centrally located, walking distance from all tourist attractions, cafes, markets, friendly staff, comfortable beds. Safe locality and quite happening restaurants just round the corner.

They charge for drinking water, dorms are on 2nd and 3rd floor, so you have to climb up the stairs with your luggage. Decent hostel but the ambience could be better.

for the price, this place is really good. its probably the cheapest hostel ive ever stayed in! the staff were super nice and friendly, and i felt safe the whole time therethe rooms are pretty quiet so I was able to rest well after my long us trip from cambodia.it actually stays quiet most of the day, so you can sleep anytimeeven though there are lots of peope, the bathrooms are still clean and not crowded since there are plenty on each floor. the internet works great everywhere in the hostel so if youre working remotely, you can work pretty much anywhereits also easy to make friends in the lobby or common room, they also have free breakfast which is amazing considering how cheap the stay is!
