Athena Hotel

The staff were wonderful and very attentive. Service here was amazing! The restaurant downstairs was small, but food was good and fruit drinks and smoothies were super delicious. We ate lunch here twice, and dinner on our first night as it was so convenient. They took good care of us.

The breakfast room was a little hard to find on the first day, but it was not a big deal.

Staff was very attentive and respectful, responsive and welcoming. Rooms were clean and spacious.

Too old towelsBath tub in Senior Luxury Double Room is badly designed. Water could overflow on the tub and flow down to the floor, this made the floor wet

Free breaksfast was great. The staff were very nice and friendly and the rooms were very good with netflix and youtube. very comfortable. if it wasnt for the construction I would give a 9 or 10

They had construction being done during my stay. Originally I was on the 4th floor and the noise was SO LOUD i couldnt even think. so I asked to changed to a higher floor, which they did and they were nice. But this still had a large impact on the quality of my stay.

Even they are charging for kid of 6 years. So cant travel with family and also staff not friendly. Kindly rethink before booking this hotel as the charges for kids is very expensive and also mentioned this while booking in booking. Com, still they have put charges.

Very serviceminded employees, allways smiling and did guests feel welcome. Breakfast was a mix of vietnamese and western, so ok.

Only I didnt like was the breakfastcoffee, but thats only my opinion.

We stayed at Athena Hotel twice and returned because of its location and overall comfort. Here’s what we liked and what could be improved.✅ Things We Liked:Great location – The hotel is in a busy but convenient area, with plenty of food stalls, cafés, and restaurants serving delicious Vietnamese street food.Big C Hypermarket nearby – Just 5 minutes away, a Western-style supermarket where you can find almost anything.Comfortable beds – The beds were soft and cozy, which is always a priority for us.Spacious bathroom – Large, with a glassed-in shower.Nice room setup – Includes a big desk (great for work or organizing things), an armoire for clothes, and a small safe (handy for passports and valuables).Fantastic breakfast – The buffet on the 11th floor offers a huge selection of hot and cold dishes, sweets, and drinks. Definitely worth including in your room rate!

❌ Things We Didn’t Like:Cleanliness could be better – While generally clean, some areas, especially in the bathroom, needed more attention.Hard pillows – The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were too firm for our liking.Window issue – Some rooms have no windows, and last year we accidentally booked one. We had to pay extra to switch, so double-check when booking.Passport issue – Both times we stayed, the staff wanted to keep our passports, which we didn’t allow. Not sure why, but it’s something to be aware of.Overall, Athena Hotel is a solid choice for both leisure and business travelers. With a few improvements, it could be even better.

Limited options for breakfast. Spa is closed and it was not mentioned during booking.

The overall quality of the hotel and service for the price. Location not too far to the airport. Breakfast was a great selection on the 11th floor overlooking Ho Chi Minh City.

Staff does not understand English. They instist to KEEP your PASSPORT for the DURATION OF YOUR STAY. Over 50 EUR of sealed candies for gifts were ruined by an infestation of ants in the room, upon discussion with the management they refused to compensate me for the loss that occurred. Someone else's laundry was billed and sent to my room. I brought it back to the front desk, only to find it back in my room at the end of the day. I had to argue strongly to not pay for the laundry charges for clothes that were not mine. Breakfast: minimal selection, hygenic quality questionable upon watching staff clip their fingernails while inside the kitchen (behind juice bar).

Really great hotel. Staff was great. Facilities was great. Room was clean. Lots of restaurants close by and lots of things to do within walking distance.

Great quality hotel, excellent service, kind staff and good breakfast options.

The only drawback is that the hotel is in district 10 and most of the places to visit and travel to (including good resturants) are all around district-1.

The only good thing about the hotel was the Concierge staff. Very helpful and polite.

The Reception staff treated us differently because we booked through booking.com. We were not given the room with extra large bed which I paid for. I was told that was the extra large bed which clearly it was a double bed. The room was infested with ants. Despite telling the staff ..they got housekeeping to use spray and kept us in the same room, while ants were near the bedside, the cupboard and in my bags. After the second day of stay there were still ants. The Supervisor came up and then we were charged to room 802, which was the one with the extra large double bed, what I had paid for. The breakfast was average, with mainly a local spread. One of the worst experiences I've had. And I am a frequent traveller. Would not recommend anyone to waste their money at Athena.

Exceptional service from the moment we checked in to the very end at checkout. I never had to open the main door because someone was always there to do it! Every single hotel staff was amazing. The breakfast buffet was also delicious!!! Everything tasted fresh and well seasoned. I would love to return and will recommend to others

Make a note on booking that deluxe double/twin room are two beds pushed together to make one big bed and not all rooms have windows

Easy to access City

Air Con not working almost 3days i stayed and they dnt bother to change room for us rather keep sending maintennce to repair

Clean, spacious, nice friendly staff and location especially next door had big supermarket was handy! We were there for our wedding anniversary and staff provided a nice surprise in our room.
