Au Lac Legend Hotel

This hotel was conveniently located edge of district 3 next to district 1. 15-20 minute walk to the heart of district 1. I liked that breakfast was included in my stay. The staff was great. Rooms were clean. Pool and bar on the rooftop was ok.

The staff is easily the most valuable asset the hotel has to offer. English is not a problem. They?ve hired an English speaking concierge who?s friendly and seems genuinely concerned about your daily experience. Also.? the AC is extremely accommodating.

They serve noodle soups/omelettes for breakfast, which I enjoyed. I was thinking however, if they added a little star anise, cloves, beef stock and coriander, we might be able to get close to pho w/o too much trouble. Just a suggestion.

My room is a bit smaller than what I saw (or assumed) on the website. Not enough places to hang clothes or towels in the bathroom. The closet in the room smells a bit stale, not fresh

what a lovely hotel! The pool and rooftop bar were both lovely and the staff were very helpful. However the rooms were on the smaller side and the hotel restaurant felt cramped.

Very good hotel with a nice swimming pool on the rooftop. We were in January and the water was very warm even in the late evening. Rooms are nice and modern. Location is perfect - district 3 is even better than district 1, although it is close by.

Central location very convenient. Breakfast buffet was excellent.

The room is small

The breakfast buffet was wonderful. The beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed the afternoon tea in the pool area, the one afternoon we were at the hotel. All the sights were within walkable distances.

The reception area was small and didn’t invite hanging out in, but a minor point.

The staff, food and amenities were great. I liked the convenient location for the price and only wished that the afternoon tea hours were slightly longer. I didn’t get a chance to use it.

For the: “Suite Double or Twin Room with City View” room it states on booking.com that option 1 is: 1 twin bed, and 1 king bed or option 2: is 1 king bed. This is not true as it’s a double not king. I don’t really care but it was the fact that we were 4 people under the impressed that we could share this room. Only after booking were we told that we have to book one more room to accommodate 4 people. They wouldn’t let us shorten our stay (even though it was in advance) due to this misunderstanding, declined our request, so we were left with no choice but to book an extra room. IF YOURE A FAMILY OF 4, YOU CANT JUST BOOK THIS ONE ROOM. The extra room I booked was only for 1 night, and apparently a pair of flip flop were missing at checkout but they did not tell us until the second room checked out the day after. This is over 24 hours and I’m sure they could have told us earlier about this? Instead they were “hoping” the pair of flip flop was in our room when we checked out the next day. Not staying here again. I stayed at CityHouse - El Pino after this which was way cheaper, had an insane view, and sick location. I recommend that instead.

Cute boutique-like hotel, good alternative to the big places. Boba nearby, pho nearby. Friendly staff. Nice to have a rooftop with soaking pool.

Pick up at the airport not smooth. Get absolute clarity for meet spot; we never found it and had to get airport information to call and coordinate. Our air conditioner was super cool but sometimes a little wet feeling in the room. Breakfast just OK.

I LOVED the breakfast. Really found the bed quite comfortable. The location was quiet and mellow area of town. Close to the War Remnants Museum, which was a heavy but educational. I highly recommend. The staff were VERY friendly and helpful. I’d def return to stay there again. The pool and steam room with rooftop lounge were fabulous!!

The bathtub wouldn’t “plug” so I just took showers. The AC unit stopped working the last day. I told them upon check out and they would’ve fixed it the day before had I told them, but I didn’t want anyone changing the filter at bedtime. But without the air on or a fan to move the air, you could really “smell” Ho Chi Minh. But it was all good overall.
