Rang Dong Hotel

Location location location.

Bad smells. Guests smoking cigarettes in room. The smoke would travel to our room. Also, we had a suite with a balcony and for some reason the balcony was locked. It was also kinda ugly and dated.

Location near to many things we wanted to see & do in HCMC. Markets, museums, cathedral, cafes.

The breakfast is average. If you go a bit later on, the tables are dirty from the people who had breakfast before you. No one goes and clean the table after the first guests.

The location was good for short distance to city attractions. There was a good selection of foods at breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel was on a very busy road, difficult to cross if walking. Better to catch taxi or Grab car. There was no view from room as stated in details, view was side of next building & laneway. Good value for the price.

Rang Dong was good for a budget hotel.

Beds were slightly hard. Breakfast had no vegetarian options.

Everything pretty much as one would expect.

The hotel is on a very busy road with loud and noisy traffic all through the night. Together with a dance club nextdoor, it makes some nights hard to sleep through. Not really something the hotel can do anything about, but it's good to take it into account when booking.

I left my book and tried to contact the hotel but to no avail. I hope they also respond in cases like mine. Other than that, the place is good, and I will recommend it to friends.

Walking distance to all the major downtown sites. A nice park across the road with two playgrounds - great for kids. Suite was spacious with a separate living room.

Shower was terrible (dribbling water) in our suite but my mother's room down the hall had now problems. TV also did not work. Forgot that the fridge turns off every time you take out the door card so food wasn't kept cold while we were out. Breakfast is very Asian, cold and not regularly re-stocked.

The staff at reception found it hard to communicate due to poor English skills.Breakfast was okay but many things that needed to be kept hot, weren't.

Location wise is good for tours to pick you up.. The room size is decent too. Lobby and security guard is good and friendly too. Property is nice and clean too.
