Cochin Zen Hotel

Location is great near the center of town and near the market. The hotel decor is also very beautiful and calming. Buffet breakfast was fabulous.

The breakfast buffet was excellent. Loved the rooftop to enjoy a drink, hot tub and view

The beds are hard but it seems more of a standard in Asia

The concierge was great as were the others. The staff at restaurant and 12th Fl Bar. Sorry to say and this was a surprise, the male staff at reception were wonderful, but the three ladies were, cold and rude every time and never even smile.

The women at reception left us very uncomfortable. Terrible service and attitude. A shame

Breakfast offering varieties, location close to Ben Thanh market and other amenities like The Opera House, the Notre Damme church, the Post Office, free Wi-Fi

Ants in room, water not draining in bathtub (room 208), smoking air from other smokers, one can hear the neighbors' talking or even toilet flushing. No airport transportation offer like other hotel. NO discount if you don't eat breakfast.Staffs are cranky

Varieties of items available at breakfast, 2 different sets of stairs and elevator opposite to one another to avoid congestion, close proximity to major attractions without traffic noises,really affordable without breaking an average travel budget

No open terrace for outdoor seating, no non-smoking room option, staffs are not courteous and helpful as compared to other hotel's personnel.

The politeness and helpful staff, the breakfast, position of the hotel, quietness and comfortable beds!

The staff were very welcoming and accommodating (especially the porter). The ambience and decor was exceptional throughout and felt very calming. Had an Iron and ironing table in the room which is always very useful and also had mini bar and snacks too. It is also in a great location within walking distance to the Opera house, Ben Thanh markets, Walking street etc.This hotel was better than some of the 4 and 5 star hotels I've stayed in Ho Chi Minh and will definitely stay here again.

Checking out took a while and our taxi wouldn't wait, the shower could have used a curtain or bigger screen to prevent water splashing over the floor.

The phone and rest room vent not working. I had run down to inform front desk of everything. They were not able to fixed the issues.The room smelled like a kitchen due vent not working.I suggest I get refund for 1 night stay.

Location, door staff and decor

I paid more per night than other times I visited a Cochin. I never recall a tub, usually a walk in shower and the bed was as stiff as other lower rated hotels. The shower in this set up makes a mess of the bathroom floor plus good luck positioning the shower wand on top of hot/cold water. I swear I remember the bed being plush vs stiff. Room price isn't competitive for what you get. Knowing this I'll pick an alternative.

Good location, spacious room.

Wasn't given the room I selected and was told it had been booked by someone else. Also on check-in the woman was not very polite and said, "Sit down there" as a command rather than, "please have a seat". Overall the quality wasn't worth the price. I paid ~$150usd/night and have found similar standard for around $60 nearby.

The gym was really bad,, all the food in the mini bar was expired, they changed every day the towels without asking, that's a waste of water

The room not enough light uncomfortable

A bit misleading about the property credit; be careful about choosing the free mini bar plus property credit rooms.Not worth it; we stayed a couple of nights, and the property credit provided is only for a 1-day stay, which is unfair.I should’ve booked my hotel stay on a 1-day basis, just saying. The mini bar wasn’t refilled; the property credit can only be used for body massage, not for food or other consumables. Massage cost is way too much compared to other spas nearby. We ended up not using it—such a waste. Bathroom layout is too bad.The guest reception was not too welcoming.

The location is nice. The staff are excellent and very helpful.

My brother and I got electrocuted in the jacuzzi so the hotel had to drain it and close it off to the other guests. Moments after that, my brother’s foot fell through the wooden floor boards next to the pool. Very unsafe rooftop/ pool area. To add insult to injury, the hot tubs weren’t hot and the deepest point in the pool sat at our waist. Misleading pictures.Next, the bathrooms are prone to flooding as the water from the shower collects along the bath tubs edges and eventually overflows onto the floor. And the water will stay there for ages since the area is so humid. Lastly, I don’t know who thought this would be a good idea, but the shower gel and shampoo are in solid glass bottles that are sitting on a ledge well above the bathtub. Obviously they got wet, became slick, and slipped out of our hands and broke all over the bathtub and bathroom floor. Not a big deal, human error that we expected to pay for, however, the hotel charged us 700,000 VND to replace the bottle. At the time of writing this, that’s 27 American dollars for one bottle. 700,000 VND for one glass bottle of shampoo. 700,000.

Check in perfect. Wonderful staff. Breakfast buffet very good. Comfortable room and perfect location. And a roof top pool, jacuzzi and bar!

Noises and bed springs sticking in my back while sleeping .

Really nice staff, breakfast, interior design and vibe. Location also very convenient.

Could be cleaned a bit better, the air conditioner in the room had some problems and made a lot of noise at night, gym was super small.
