The Southern Hotel Surabaya

The staff here were absolutely outstanding. Not only did they make us feel very welcome during our entire stay but they also went above and beyond the call of duty when they discovered my daughter had left some personal belongings in her room and then had them shipped to us. Thank you!

The fridge had to be replaced twice because it didn’t work, the gym was closed, the safety box had to be replaced because it didn’t work, the room key had to be replaced because it didn’t work, etc.

The buffet dinner at the restaurant 3rd floor was great. And the breakfast the last day my stay at the hotel was great. some various of menu we can choose and all are good. Thank you for your service.

The cleanliness of the hotel. Specially under wash basin at the bathroom is dirty. The other think is the light at the bathroom i don’t really like because its dark. I need more light at the bathroom. Thank you.

Location wise, bed & linen.

1. No greetings and intention to help from the concierge on arrival.2. Front office missed to checked that I have made a full payment. And missed to return my ID. No greetings and hospitality on my arrival.3. Breakfast staff misheard and made fun of my sister‘s statement. 4. All staff used no face mask. No mask and handgloves on breakfast area. 5. Handsoap dispenser filled with water instead of handsoap.

Location is convenient, staffs are helpful and breakfast was nice, especially the scrambled egg, it is sooo fluffy.

I don't know whether it is Surabaya's regulation on covid or whatever, but about 90% of the staffs didn't wear mask. Though pandemic situation is getting better, it is still inconvenient for me to be surrounded by people without mask. Also, what I know is that Surabaya city regulation follows national regulation (mask is not mandatory only in outdoor settings), if it is true, then the staffs without mask is a violation of regulation. Sorry but I didn't feel convenience about it.

too much disturbance from the staffs calling and knocking door to promote their service. bathrooms have no soap (havent refilled), stayed at 2 rooms and both have empty soap bottle

Hotel room was very clean and comfortable. Hotel situated in a great location. Easy access for me to reach where I needed to be.

Room, sheets, and towels are clean. Room is not too big but quite comfortable. Hairdryer and toothbrush are provided in the room. The work desk and chair in the room are perfect for business trip. Location is quite near to the airport. Pretty far from city centre but you can always take grabcar or gocar. There are starbucks and mini market just walking distance from the hotel.

I could hear loud music from my room in the 10th floor but they cut it out just before 9 pm.

Comfortable. Pool enough to cool down, but too many swimmers and the size is mini. ?

I need to wash my hand, but no soap or liquid soap, I have to go in the shower cabinet and take the liquid soap from there. The light also to remang - remang (dimly lit) not good for put on make up in the evening. ?

Room price is ultra reasonable. Great staff, smiles, greetings, happy vibes.The staff called me, informing if I'm ok with smoking room not long after i booked via booking.com, the information she gave is very precise.Location not far from highway gate, airport.Surrounded by restaurants, the hotel food also not expensive at all.Clean, hot water, kettle, generous electricity socket, tv channel options, extra pillow, fridge, economical bathroom lighting.The reminders to always save Earth.

The laundry price is cheap, but they dont have the laundry bag which is not critical. Tiny parking lot and the towels hanger in the bathroom location is hard to reach (above, behind the toilet bowl), but it is minimum issue. It was a good stay overall.

Great staff and accommodating. Nice bar and pool. They helped us arrange a Bromo trip which we enjoyed a lot.

The room has thin wall I guess? I can hear voice of other people from another room when they chit chat. At some point it's really annoying. More over, I can hear someone play music when walking in aisle. I think it's really hard to enjoy your time in the room with music and talking with your friends

Affordable, clean and comfortable

Magnetic card need to be set up by staff everyday due to can't be used to open the room door.
