Surabaya River View Hotel

Great location, great views and perfect room..wonderful shower and bed. the breakfast buffet had a lot of variety and quantity. Walking distance from the best locations.

Everything was perfect

The room was spacious for three adults. The beds were very comfortable. The rooftop swimming pool was awesome. The staff were helpful and prompt.

The breakfast menu was huge disappointment (unlike stated in previous review). We stayed for four nights but the breakfast we had was hardly delicious (cripsy chicken that had more batter than chicken; also, another menu was "ayam kunyit" that were hard- may be not freshly cooked- to name a few). It would be great if the menu/food can be imporved. Thank you

Nice location to put you right in the middle of Surabaya, the rooftop bar gives a great view of the city, the room was large and clean and the bathroom was also large and clean. Reception area is also very clean and is inviting and relaxing. The receptoin staff helped me contact a driver that didnt get my booking to visit Mt. Bromo, if it wasnt for them i would never have gotten on my trip, i am gratefull they spend a good 10-15 mins to assist me. Water bottles complementary in the room and cleand and beds made daily.Staff were great with a few suggestions on eateries and other points of interest to visit whilst there. Rooftop bar had a nice vibe and even had live music and chilled out pool on the roof. Bed was huge and very comfortable

Bathroom has a bit of wear and tear, might need a little re-grouting in places as people might mistake natural decolouring as mould.

The location very central, the staff and the food (you can eat there).

I had a very noisy neighbour, but not the fault of the hotel and be aware, the floor around the swimming pool is very slippery when you have wet feet, i fell.

Breakfast was good. A little far from other eateries with about a 20 minute walk to a nearby (huge) shopping mall, but the upstairs restaurant near the pool was very good for a coffee. Nightly entertainment.

The "riverview" is more like a dowdy canal but the view from the pool is outstanding.A little far from anything resembling an eatery.

Nice view from the 11th floor family room. Good selection of breakfast, close to Jalan Tunjungan and Pasar Genteng; for food and ole ole.

Good location, good value for money, clean

Not eco friendly at all. No water refill station or facility. You need to buy small plastic bottles of water every time.

Room was lovely and comfortable. Staff were friendly. Roof top pool was an added bonus, nice to relax up there. Welcome drink was simple but free.

We ordered food from the rooftop bar by the pool and the service charge/tax that was added on was a bit of a shock. Maybe it can be included in the price of the food so people know the total price before ordering. Room was super clean but the shower was blocked and kept flooding; cleaners just need to remember to remove hair from the drains every so often to stop it building up. My friend removed it :) :)

Comfortable room for a family, quite spacious. Close to the city center and large shopping malls.

It is impossible to give a second key to the room, not very convenient if you return to the room separately or if one of you needs to go down. Without a key you will not be able to get into the elevator, and the lights in the room will be off.

The linens and towels are not clean and obsolete

The bed linen and towels are old. They were clean but definitely ready to be updated.The bathroom was clean but the grout in the shower was mouldy which spoils the look of it.

The location near to designated tourist attractions, spacious room and clean. Tunjungan is only 10 minutes walking from hotel.

The rooftop pool was special, with a view across all the city. The restaurant was also on the same level and allowed for dinner and drinks with the same spectacular view, especially at night. The family room was large, with plenty of space for 1 x king and 1 x double bed, plus a desk and space AND lounge seating area.

Access to alternative nearby cafes and restaurants was limited and you needed a Grab to get there, since the roads were not safe for pedestrians.

The hotel's in a great location for the old part of Surabaya. Our room was large, with good facilities, spotlessly clean and with a really comfy bed. It was also quiet. The rooftop bar and swimming pool are a real bonus. There was live music in the bar the night were were there and the young couple playing were really rather good. We didn't get to use the swimming pool as we were only staying one night but it looked very clean and inviting. The views from the roof are great. All in all we were pleasantly surprised by our stay and would come back.

This was another hotel where the safe in the room wasn't working, which seems a common theme to Javanese hotels! A mild irritation but as access to the floors where guests stay is restricted it's not too much of a worry.

It is rather a 4 star given the comfort and the amenities and extras including that awesome rooftop pool
