- Best staff, service, and food during our entire trip to Morocco. Employee took care of us every day and made our trip to Fes more memorable than we ever expected. The entire staff is like a family. We slept so well in the rooms in very comfortable beds.
- Our experience at Riad Fes Baraka was great, and these were my highlights:Riad facilities: The place is beautiful; everything seems newly renovated, and the decoration is lovely, perfect for taking great pictures. 10/10.Staff: All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They took great care of us. 10/10.Room: Small but suitable if you're just using it to sleep.Cleanliness: Everything was spotless. 10/10.Breakfast: It was included in our booking and it was amazing—very tasty and just enough to start the day. The coffee was great and we fell in love with their tea. Spoiler alert: they serve a Moroccan-style breakfast, which means it’s not protein-heavy; it’s mostly sweet and bread-based. That’s the Moroccan way. 100/10.Dinner: We only had dinner at the riad once, but it’s definitely worth mentioning—it was delicious.Massage service: Only my wife used this service, and according to her, it was great and totally worth it.Bonus: The riad offers local beer and wine, which is great after a long day walking through the medina. Nothing like relaxing with a cold beer or a glass of wine.Definitely a great place to stay.
- The room was quiet, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good.
Cons -
- Room size and layout: : Here I want to be very objective. As with any accommodation, the level of comfort depends on the price you choose. In our case, since we were on a budget, we chose the cheapest option available, and we got a very small and kind of dark room called “Chaouen.” It wasn’t really a problem since we only used the room to sleep, but it’s not very practical. For instance, there’s no space to walk along the sides of the bed—you have to climb in from the foot of the bed and work your way up, and the same to get out. As an example, one morning I stepped on the mattress to get down faster and accidentally bumped my head on the ceiling lamp (not a big deal, but it happened).Another point is the private bathroom. It is listed as “private bathroom” in the facilities shown when selecting the room in the booking app, and for me that was enough. However, I learned that I also need to check the room description (which I had never done before), because that’s where they explain that the private bathroom is actually outside the room. This is not very convenient: every time you need to use it, you have to open and close your room door, go down two steps, walk a couple of steps, go up two steps, open and close the bathroom door, and repeat the process on the way back.It is important to mention that the accommodation sent us a message the day after we booked to inform us about the bathroom situation, and they even offered to move us to another room depending on availability. It didn’t happen—I assume there was none.
- We were disappointed with the breakfasts that were not as good as other riads and fats we have stayed at on our holiday. The whole breakfast operation feels a little disorganized and with a lack of care. Little plastic containers of yogurt felt very ‘fast food’. I would suggest to them that they offer plates for guests to eat from as this does not seem to be their practice. There is a communal plate of eggs that you are expected to all eat from which seems strange and not done at other places we stayed at.
- The only part we didn't like was on our first night of arrival we asked for dinner recommendations. The manager walked us to a place and we felt pressure to eat there by the way it was handled with the restaurant person coming out and what felt like a "trade off". It was our most expensive meal of the trip and there were other options nearby that would have been a better fit for our family. They also didn't take credit card.

The room was quiet, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good.
Samir was outstanding! We arrived late one night (past the dinner hours) from a trip to the blue city and he still made it for us, with a smile. The property is right on the edge of the old Medina but also close enough to the modern town to give you many choices. For those coming from other Medinas elsewhere be aware this one is huge and you will lose cell service in places and it is also a bit more edgy in terms of the personalities you will encounter. Get a guide.
Staff was wonderful. Touria was beyond accommodating, kind and welcoming. We had to adjust our stay due to unforeseen circumstances and the hotel manager was so understanding ( did not charge us for the night we were unable to make). They altered dinner to what we were dying g to eat, and the ladies at the spa were wonderful.
The location, very friendly staff! Samir was very helpful and flexible. He found an excellent guide last minute to give us a tour of the old medina. We also had dinner at the place and it was delicious!
The courtyard is quite beautiful with birds and greenery. We appreciated the guide that was arranged for us - he was excellent. The gentlemen working there were warm and helpful. The room was spacious. The tea on arrival. If you ask, they will provide bottles of water.

We had the family room and there was plenty of space. The manager got gluten free bread for my daughter which was really nice of him. The hamman massage was in tight quarters but well worth it and the ladies were great.

Nice and spacious room. Had earthy feel to the entire suite and bathroom. Located close to markets.
The staff were very friendly, especially the night manager. They had a good selection of Moroccan wine at a very reasonable price. It is a very elegant Riad with nice touches in the decor.
The bed was so close to the walls on either side that it was actually quite difficult to get out of. We hadn’t appreciated that although we had a private bathroom it was not in the room but down two steep steps, across a stairway that others used, and up two steep steps. This was quite inconvenient, especially at night when you had to get sufficiently dressed in case you met others in the stairs.
It was a wonderful experience. We stayed 2 nights. The staff was very nice and welcoming and the manager Samir helped us with everything we needed. We also had Hammam made by Samira, which was the best experience ever. I totally recommend this Riad and also the Spa experience. Thank you guys, you are the best!!!
Big rooms and they had a pool which would be great in the hotter months. The breakfasts were good and they were nice to pack us one to go as we had to leave early on the second day.The staff were friendly and helpful. Found us an exceptional tour guide to take us around Fes! An experience that we will forever be grateful for.
Only one thing I would mention to the owner is that the lighting in our room could have been better. It was a beautiful room with high ceilings but the lights are a bit too high up to provide adequate lighting.
Very authentic Riad in the heart of the Medina. The staff was fantastic and answered all our questions and handled all our needs. The hammam on site was a cool cultural experience!
It was all great!
It was a lovely Riad in the best location of Fes. Just a few steps away from nice bars, cafes and restaurants. For us it was the first time in Marokko, and the first time we stayed in a Riad rather than a hotel. Great choice! We felt at home! The riad is beautiful, we enjoyed having breakfast and dinner in the courtyard of the riad. Great food! Thanks Samira for cooking so great!I also had my best hamman and massage ever. Much much better that the one in the medina in "touristic hammam" places. We highly recommend the Medina tour that they help us arrange (for Italian or French people, the guide Mohammed is top!).The hospitality of the staff and manager are incredible. Touria, Samir, all of you, we really want to thank you from the bottom of our heart! You are so kind and helped us with everything, transportation, tours... and always with a big smile! THANKS!
Our two-night stay at Riad Fes Baraka was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we booked, the hospitality was evident—our host, Samir, reached out via WhatsApp to offer assistance with transportation, guide services for exploring the old Medina, and even the option of a freshly prepared dinner upon arrival. As strict vegetarians, we often face challenges finding meals that cater to our dietary needs, but Samir and his team went above and beyond to create an unforgettable dining experience. The meal they prepared for us was, without a doubt, the best we had during our two-week trip through Morocco—so much so that we opted to dine at the riad again on our second night. Every ingredient was sourced fresh from the market that day, and the attention to detail in both flavor and presentation was outstanding.Upon arrival, Samir personally met us outside to assist with our luggage and welcomed us into the riad with traditional Moroccan mint tea. He took the time to help us plan our time in Fes, ensuring we made the most of our visit. After settling in, my friend indulged in a traditional Hammam and massage at the riad and highly recommends the experience. It was the perfect way to unwind after a day of travel and set the tone for a relaxing stay.We stayed in the Serial Suite, which was both stunning and comfortable. The traditional Moroccan decor, soaring ceilings, and private terrace created an atmosphere of elegance and relaxation. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the water pressure in the shower was excellent, and while the room did not have a refrigerator, Samir kindly offered to store our drinks in the kitchen and provide ice whenever needed. The riad also features a beautiful rooftop lounge where guests can unwind. Wine is available for purchase by the bottle, and a Carrefour nearby offers additional beverage options if you would like some beer.
Exceeded our expectations! The room did not have a refrigerator, but they will put beverages in the refrigerator for you and provide ice.
The property is stunning and the fact that you can do a Hammam on site is pretty amazing. Samir and the entire staff were extremely accommodating.
Only comment would be the location is just a short walk in to the main markets if your main focus is being in the action and shopping.
Everything. It's a great choice for Fes. Location, service, breakfast, room. The Riad offers tours, massages and taxi service for an additional cost
Definitely the best Riad we stayed in from the 6 different ones we experienced during our stay. The host was extremely hospitable and upgraded our room without us even asking. This Riad truly embodies the infusion of Moroccan culture and European standards of excellence. If you can afford it, just stay here - it's well worth it.
Beautiful Riad close to the Blue Gate.Staff were so friendly, delicious breakfast, very authentic Moroccan vibes.
Pillows are a bit too hard!
The Riad is so beautiful our 4 people room was very nice with a big bathroom. The breakfast was very good and different between the 2 days of staying. The dinner had big portions and they were super careful with the gluten free options. We used the hamam service and the massage, wow what an experience. We loved it. There was also wine options. The location was very good in my opinion just outside the medina so felt safe and close to bar and atm spots.
