Hotel Kalkstrand

It's a small town hotel, suitable for a short stay or arranging even a bigger an event. It is not by any means new, but clean. It has all the basic necessary amenities and the breakfast was good. Service was kind and welcoming.

The room was quite hot even in September, though it was a warm day too. The room was somewhat short on hooks or places where to hang your coat or towels and so on.

Location was very good. Friendly staff and inhouse restaurant. Pets allowed is the best point !

The room was absurdly hot, like 28 degrees when we arrived even though it wasn't more than 20 degrees outside. We kept the window open and it seemed fine (maybe 24 degrees after keeping the window open for +3 hours) but then came the mosquitos... So I had to hunt them for an hour and then after closing the window it was super hot again which made no sense, there was no heating on. Anyway, after 4 o'clock in the morning it was possible to sleep there after opening the window again (there were more windy then so there were less mosquitoes.) If there just had been mosquito nets in the windows... So other than that very decent place.

Breakfast was good and location is perfect.

We were traveling to Kökar and made a stopover. Next time we will go to Nauvo instead.

The hotel is in desperate need of renovation.. it does not meet today’s standards in any way.

Our room was somewhat clean but had a strange smell. Housekeeping entered our room at 10 am when we had not yet made check-out.

The room was unbearably hot. No air conditioning, just a small fan. Didn't stay the night, went back home

The staff was very nice and the size of the room absolutely great. There’s a separate entrance you can use 24/7 which is good as you don’t have to enter through the reception once you have checked in. The location is perfect; in the middle of the small city right next to the water (sea).

I think there were just a handful of guest staying at the hotel at that time . The breakfast setup was therefore the most modest I’ve ever seen.

Good and comfortable location, staff was excellent. We asked to check out before breakfast was served and staff had breakfast brought to our room. There's also a sauna in the hotel.

The room was a little worn and the bathroom could have used a deeper clean, there was some calcium buildup on the shower etc. The bidé shower was leaking water on the floor when we used the sink.

The room with sea view, everything was very clean, the bed was really good. My room was not outdated, it seems quite new. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. The breakfastvwas fine, enough choice. I stayed here in september, low season.

Some parts of the property need maintenance, e.g. the outer walls and the bathrooms.

Although the sheets and room were clean the room smelt really bad. I suspect the mattresses have not been changed or cleaned in years. It smelt like an old person had been living in there for years.

It is not expensive; located well. The new personnel was very friendly and service minded

I've been there before and the rooms and facilities have not been renovated. Maybe new owners. The new personnel know how to make food - had dinner there, which was much better than before.However, the the breakfast was as bad as before. Surely, the new personnel should be allowed to improve it. Start with a number of small improvements; see what people like

Shows signs of age (windows, elevator, public areas). Staff’s local knowledge poor: gave wrong instructions about sight locations.

The room was quiet and the view was ok.

For some reason the hotel room door was wide open upon arrival. The room is not clean and at the same time it had seen its best days a long ago.

Locals in the pub were friendly and the staff very accommodating. Great location and enjoyed the stay. Thanks for having us!
